Not in the US. the US nutrition information mandate applies only to restaurants with twenty or more locations serving substantially the same food at each. I virtually never go to restaurants with twenty of more locations (unless it's a lunch place like Chipotle or Panera when work orders it in). None of the small local…

I would never, ever, ever do this.

I haven't read all the replies here so my apologies if this is repeated information. OP's quote of the nutritionist quoted above is derived from the National Weight Control Registry's findings, which are listed (in part) here: http://www.nwcr.ws/Research/ This is the largest study of individuals who have lost weight and…

Exactly what I do for lifting, though the superfeet give me a bit of a heel rise. I put replace my running show insoles with green superfeet.

I do need to agree with this statement. Nonetheless, True Blood is utterly dreadful.* *see above post for caveat.
-
Umm, this. I watch True Blood for ASkars. There is no other redeeming factor in that show, and even heavy Erik episodes don't make up for the rest of it all the time.
-
Incredible. Congrats - can't wait to see your goal weight post because you are SO on your way.

Unless you look at your calories for the WEEK instead of the day. You can easily eat 4,000 calories one day and make up for it with a slight deficit the rest of the week and still maintain your weight perfectly. Mmmm, 1600 calorie dessert....
-
I look at my overall week and balance calories that way. There is no "cheat" day because it's not cheating on anything...it IS my plan. M-F I log my food just as precisely as I did while losing weight. I keep a deficit running. Weekends I eat what I please. I don't log, but I don't binge either. I eat above maintenance.…

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the support so much :)

Love.

I love these crackers and you're right - they are big. I usually eat three with an ounce of hummus.

60 pounds in a year is really, really awesome. Just think - if she hadn't made positive changes, she might exactly where she was a year ago. Or...if she was anything like me...gradually watching her weight creep up even higher. Though I lost my weight relatively quickly, I don't really think that's a good thing. 5 pounds a…

The only way you're eating too much fat is if you cannot meet your other macronutrient and micronutrient needs within your calorie goal because you are consuming too much calorie-dense fat. Aside from that, it matters not. eat your walnut and almond burger with mashed avocado - as long as you're still able to meet your…

If you're looking for a hummus-to-mouth delivery device only, veggies - cucumbers, carrots, celery. If you're looking for a salty crunch, then just weigh out a portion of chips or crackers and put the rest away.

Ahh, I see what you're saying. No, I'm not breaking skin but there is light contact. Thanks for the explanation.
-
Well, this is information that might have been helpful in your original post. Besides, if you're a Type 1 diabetic, you obviously know how to eat for your blood sugar control better than any of us can advise.

Very good, moderate advice. Vacation, for me, is filled with activity - walking, swimming, snorkeling. But it's also a time to relax, enjoy food and drink, and unwind. If that means I gain a pound or two (which - SURPRISE! never actually happens despite eating above maintenance, because weight gain/loss is not…

That's not what Rippetoe instructs: I'm curious because my deadlift has improved significantly since I've been following this technique advice. I make contact with my shins through lockout.

I don't know the answer to your question about how long to rest, but it took me insoles to start getting my PF under control. I'm also seeing a physical therapist (those calf raises are one of my prescribed exercises). For what it's worth, superfeet insoles are working well for me and I'm finally starting to see some…

Exactly! I don't judge people who choose plastic surgery at ALL but I don't like the insinuation that it's a necessary part of weight loss. It's simply not. A friend lost a good deal of weight and got a tummy tuck and lift or something - it was about half paid for by insurance. Then she was released and went home and…

THIS. On the rare occasion that I don't have leftovers, I'll pack tuna salad, toast, cheese, carrot sticks, chips and salsa...or a salad with grilled chicken. I also usually keep hummus, pita, cottage cheese, wasa crackers, string cheese, etc around for a quick meal. PB&J with veggies on the side works in a pinch. Most of…

Thank you all SO SO much! It's a Kelty Kids carrier. It's an older, more basic model (no rain or sunscreen on it) that I got on Craigslist virtually new. We love it. I normally end up wearing it because I have nice wide hips to rest it on - which means I don't feel much, if any, strain in my shoulders since the weight is…

Or begin practicing self-acceptance now and use the plastic surgery money for an amazing, adventure-filled vacation. Life is better when you're at a healthy weight. It's easier, more fun, and less stressful. If saggy skin causes health problems, insurance coverage is likely. My body may not look like the body of someone…

Congrats on great progress! And so smart in my opinion to work the changes in gradually. It gives them staying power. Keeeeeep going!

Hard to not look fly next to her. She's hot (and ridiculously kind).

The sad truth is that the world is a different place for you when you're at a healthy weight. You will get used to it. You'll still pick up clothes that are way too big, not realizing you're three sizes smaller. You'll still turn to squeeze in between an aisle, despite the fact that you'll fit fine either way. you'll still…

And in the meantime, I'd use the "circuit training" entry under cardio. It will give you a ballpark.

wait wait wait, where are you getting 87 grams of sugar per half a grapefruit? I eat a half grapefruit several times a week, including this morning, and according to my log it has 8 grams of sugar. That aside....I mostly ignore my sugar intake. I think I even manually increased my sugar goal because I eat fruit and was…
