So true! Yes there are WAYS to say everything and there are times to talk, listen, read, learn, discuss but that doesn't mean vegans need to sit in the corner with their tofu and not talk about what they believe in.

Do you wear a HR monitor? How heavy are your weights?
-
In my experience the shoes cost about the same no matter where you get them (at least for decent running shoes). I paid about $90 for mine from a local running store. Money well spent!

Read a real book on vegan nutrition. Vegans are (for the most part) healthy. You can easily get enough protein, iron, calcium, zinc, etc. Can you eat crap and get nutrition? Nope, but the same goes for a lacto-ovo or omnivore.

Run 75 miles :)

Pretty much all fast food. It has taken a loooong time but I officially no longer cravy anything from a drive thru :)

Veggies? Cooked carrots with a bit of maple syrup, kale with balsamic vinegarette, baked sweet potato or baked sweet potato fries, roasted asparagus...I love my veggies!!!
-
Please tell me you are one of those people that just doesn't log veggies...

Yes the Ezikiel. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that bread. As for the tofu, if I'm in a hurry I get the pre baked stuff from trader joes, otherwise I use something like this recipe: http://www.food.com/recipe/asian-style-savory-baked-tofu-81284 Even my husband liked the salad and he hates real mayo based salads. I'll make a…

Former veggie, new vegan and LOVING it!

Would homemade vegan mayo and tofu be ok for you? I made the most amazing "tofu salad" yesterday. Homemade vegan mayo, baked tofu, celery, red onion, raisins, cashews. I had it on sprouted bread but it would be awesome just on a spinach salad.

I used to have the same issue. I decided to try to run while keeping my HR at a lower level (I was running at about 175, I now try to keep it below 150 unless I am doing tempo runs or speed work), especially on my long runs. It has made a HUGE difference in my running and actually has hardly made a difference in my mile…

Agreed with above. Pumpkin seeds are yummy, nuts, nut butter on celery or carrots, tahini, sun flower seeds, tempeh, tofu, smoothies with hemp protein. Is there any difference in carbs from fruits/veggies/whole grains and those in processed foods?

Are you drinking water in the morning? What type of breakfast are you having? I find oatmeal with a steamed chopped apple (or applesauce) and nuts is super filling. I've tried those nasty sugary packets in the past and I end up hungry again after those.

Former lacto ovo, newly vegan. Hands down the best decision I've ever made for my health/animals/the environment.

I love my Asics! That being said, my next pair will likely be New Balance.

Lately we've been lucky at Costco. I likely wouldn't qualify as a clean eater because I eat (mostly, I do eat honey sometimes) vegan. We freeze what we can't eat right away in terms of produce and get large containers of things like nuts/seeds/quinoa/oats/almond milk.

Dairy is horrible for my skin. It is actually fairly common for doctors to suggest reducing dairy in patients with acne.

Peanut butter banana sandwiches are AMAZING. I have it on Ezekiel bread to up the protein/whole wheat and it is amazing. I usually toast the bread too.
-
How about a salad for lunch instead of a sandwich? Or an open face one piece of bread sandwich?
-
I bet if you start with a solid breakfast you could eventually break out of the evening snack attack, hunger habit.

Former lacto-ovo, currently trying vegan. I've been doing TONS of research and try to cook at home/eat healthy/clean etc. Add me if you'd like :)

I would try working in whole fruits and veggies, more real foods to fuel your body. While you are eating enough calories I don't see a ton of nutrition. I would also work on a bigger breakfast. Maybe oatmeal/yogurt with kashi and fruit/toast with peanutbutter and banana/frozen waffle with yogurt and fruit etc. I personally…

Before being vegan I loved cottage cheese. My new food this week is nutritional yeast. I'm adding it in almost everything I cook for a B vitamin boost.

I wouldn't go again until you are less sore, or work in other exercises that target different areas until you are up to spinning again. At my most I did spinning 3x/week.

True, one major difference is that the twinkie diet didn't include meat, if I remember correctly. Sounds like the OP is including meat and so I don't think any of the health "benefits" of the twinkie diet would apply. But yes, you should loose weight.

My favorite is red lentils in dal. Yum! I've also used them to make taco fillingm soups, lentil rice pilaf.
-
I'm trying out eating vegan for a month to see how it goes, I've been lacto ovo for about a year and a half. We'll see how it goes! I'm excited to make the switch though.

I bought hemp today for the first time. I love the omega 3/6/9s in there! I think I'll rotate between hemp, brown rice and pea just for balance but I'm pretty impressed with the hemp. I'll have to check trader joe's for it the next time I'm there!

I hope the fab sticks around a litte longer... I want to be able to sell my pee when I'm knocked up!
