Here's my Paris Tours ride. Thank you! https://www.strava.com/activities/739903235

28/09/2016 Milan - Torino - 16.1km - 83m - https://www.strava.com/activities/727682115 And I did take one very dark photo (since I finished my ride before sunrise), but I'll have to go back and read about where to post that...

Count us in, me and BamaBoyScout.

Everyone is welcome at our place. We have nice river valleys, hills and mountains (modest sized) to bike, and local brew pubs and spare bedrooms and bathrooms.

Love the wheel graphic from veloviewer, TBY! B) I made mine (roughly, using the free version) and it shows nothing but two dots because I biked only in Las Vegas and at home (western Arkansas) so the routes are too small to show at the zoomed out view that shows both locations, I just see a big swath of the USA! HA! But, I…

I've been on MFP over five years (really?) and this is the group that keeps me going, through care-giving and medical issues and life crap. Thanks a bunch, particularly Mark and Jason. My rides get shorter and slower and closer to home every year, but I am still riding and so is the husband, and we are pretty darn happy…

That was only yesterday and the Garmin pauses when I stop to do that. I'm just old and fat and slow, but persistent. And, of course, because of weird and persistent health issues, I'm now afraid to get too far from home, so I'm doing lots of repetitive small loops close to home.
-
Who is the bestest at riding the slowest? That's meeeee!
-
Happy birthday, TBY! :D

So, today I finally got enough info from a security guard and a valet parking worker and managed to exit the hotel with my bike via a parking deck so I didn't have to go out on the Strip (Las Vegas Boulevard). The down side? All that climbing I had to do in the parking deck did not get measured by GPS. Hmph. :o

It's a rental so I had no choice. And I cut my nails short a few days ago. At home I mostly ride a hybrid with grip shift, and when I'm on MY road bike, I have Campy, which doesn't have this stupid two levers right together design. Maybe this will motivate me to ride my road bike when I get home. I've neglected it for ages.
-
Scored a road bike! It's too big but not so big I can't ride it. Did a tiny ride to be sure. Will ride at sunrise tomorrow (as it's going to 107 today). I haven't been on a road bike in EONS and I already broke a nail trying to shift (I hate Shimano! I want my Campy!). At least I'm not a zero today!

:'( #firstworldproblems #tourchallenge I'm in Las Vegas for work. I arranged to rent a mountain bike from the only place that will deliver to my (any) hotel. The nice man, Matt, brought their three smallest mountain bikes (I'm 5'1") in combinations of full suspension/hardtail, S/XS. He even brought SPD pedals for me. I…

I went into the MFP settings again and disconnected Garmin. Now I get no data. Weird. I'm just going back to doing it by hand with shape sense calculations which make so much more sense really. I don't have enough power to justify a meter.
-
As an example for how crazy the calorie disparity is: Today's ride was posted twice to MFP like this:
-
I thought that, but then I disengaged Garmin but it's still happening. I need to disengage everything, i think, if I can figure out how.
-
Some how that I don't understand, everything gets sent twice for me to MFP. I think Garmin is sending to Strava and MFP and Strava is sending to MFP. Anyhow, the calorie amounts are WIDELY different. I use the shape sense calculator (uses sex, age, weight, time, and average HRT) and record THAT as my calories burned. It's…

We are a pair! I have a broken coccyx. Ugh. I think lower back issues are worse, although I sure miss being able to sit in a normal chair.
-
Wants a prize for being the slowest tour rider ever.
-
Got it! I will be riding with a backup GPS but it won't upload unless I plug it in and manually make it work (it's my old 520) which I shall not do because the 820 is going to work every damn time now, right?
-
Thanks for the race numbers!
-
Are we getting new race numbers for the Tour, oh great swami?
-
Will do. Any chance you can change the blue on our emblem to hot pink or magenta? :o)
-
I spoke typed too soon. We have a couple of extras (Phytogurl? Nikki M?) which confused me. Are they not in the Tour challenge at all? We are currently missing Hawkeyegal. I sent her a Strava club invite. Please join us Hawkeyegal!
-
I think we have all nine now! WOOHOO!
-
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! You are doing a fantastic amazing wonderful awesome job!
-
Woohoo! WOMEN ROCK! GO Pro Team Twinkie Scoff! We are missing at least one person in the Strava club here: https://www.strava.com/clubs/MFP-TwinkieScoff If you are on our team and not in this Strava club, please join us there! I'm not sure who is missing since I don't know all the connections between MFP monikers and…

I'm assuming you have me and also the hubs ( BamaBoyScout aka Andrew ) from two pages back. Just checking to be sure.
-
Sign me up, please! Sign up the husband as well (BamaBoyScout aka Andrew Baldes), please. I will probably not be hitting my goal of 100km per week, alas, but I'll try my best to get close! Husband is currently working on a minor injury but we expect him to be back to normal crazy miles before the Tour starts.
-
Oh, Andrew loves red! He'll be so excited (whenever he actually wakes up).
