I find that ALL clothes are bigger than they used to be. Before I had my first child 13 years ago, I never wore smaller than a size 6. Now I wear 4's & 2's, and I'm bigger now than back then. I never know what size will fit me even when I'm shopping at stores from which I've previously purchased in the last year. Sizes…

Everyone in my house except me has been wearing a zamzee, since one of my children's pediatrician said her weight is too high for her height. I already wear a fitbit which cost 3 times the zamzee, and is a fancy pedometer. For my children, I am very happy with the motivation the zamzee is providing for aerobic fitness. Be…

I used to have my setting on lightly active, and I changed it to sedentary when I got a fitbit which syncs my steps with MFP which in turn adds exercise calories for me to eat. Before I was entering any additional work-outs I was doing. I find the calorie adjustment in either case to be 6 or 1/2 dozen of the other--not a…

You and I are about the same height, and I've experienced the creeping pounds since 35. I bought a fitbit, and if I can hit enough steps during the day, I don't worry about more exercise after work. I'm a teacher & was lazy in July, (walked less than 1/2 my usual steps,) and I gained 5 pounds. In my case, if I track my…

Both are lovely on you, but I'd go with the blue. I think the neckline and length are dressier & more flattering than the white,

Your diet & calories look fine to me. If anything, you're during the week calories look low, if you're working out 6 days a week, but then they balance your weekends. Do you think your body is just slower to take off weight because you don't have a lot to lose, (& offense because I'm a few years older than you,) you're not…

You look AMAZING! Sadly, I never appreciated how fabulous my stomach looked in my 20s until I'd had 3 children. Keep striving for fitness, but try to enjoy how awesome you look!

Agreed. If I sit eat straight from the jar, I'm in trouble. I find I can make a satisfying snack sandwich or coat a banana with 1 tablespoon. And even if you did love almond butter, calorie & fat wise it's not a trade it out & pig down food. It's a tablespoon for tablespoon switch.

Yes, BUT I've found extra calcium around that time helps. Less extra weight when I'm drinking skim milk with ovaltine or eating fruit with nonfat yogurt after workouts.

It seems counter intuitive, but a friend of mine said wearing barefoot shoes (the Merrell Pace Glove) cured hers.

I love my fitbit. I can honestly say that it inspires me to move more.

I want to add that before the fitbit, I only logged gym exercises or walks I would not usually take. At that time, I had my daily activity level set as lightly active because I'm a teacher. Once I began using the fitbit, I changed my activity level to sedentary, so the steps I take aren't included in my lifestyle settings.

Since I got my fitbit, I don't log any exercise. I eat as many of my fitbit calories as I want, and when I've gone over, it's inspired me to walk or run up & down the stairs until I'm back in the green.

Get a tankless hot water heater, so you can always have a hot shower. Few things more important to a parent than quality shower time--or maybe that's just a mom thing.

I don't have a HRM, but I've been using my fitbit since early January. I love it! I recently upped my step goal to 12,000 a day instead of 10,000. It really keeps me moving!

I'm between 20 and 22%, and I have a flabby gut. :(

Yum! Thanks!

I've read different studies & opinions on metabolization of sugar. Notwithstanding sugar, I am still baffled by the assertion that a Snickers is as nutritional beneficial as a banana. A full-size Snickers has about 250 calories and 16 peanuts for 4 grams of protein and 1 gram of fiber--very negligible amounts of calcium…

It's never too late. Even when I haven't lost a single pound, I can feel how much better my clothes fit when I've been eating healthy & exercising. Taking care of yourself is for life, not one special event. Chin up. It's a great day to get out & move!

I'm all about a delicious quick breakfast, and left over French toast would definitely fit the bill. :)

You could make up as many pieces of the bread the egg can wet, and enter it as a recipe with the number of servings you have. Refrigerate the leftovers & reheat them in the toaster later in the week for quick breakfasts. I would not try measuring the remaining liquid after using olive oil. How would you know it was just…

The joys & enlightenment of motherhood. Yes, I eat a banana a day, but under NO circumstance would I eat 2.

Kraft makes good 2% cheeses in the US. I, too, really love cheese. I make a homemade pizza in a cast iron skillet where I alternate layering the vegetables & cheese. It's very tasty even when I use less cheese than usual. Since I forgo meat for the pizza, I think it balances--or so I tell myself. :)

A fish oil supplement is supposed to help. Mine is lower when I eat less meat & cheese.

The comment about Snickers I read was specifically about how bananas are a bad choice. It befuddled me because while bananas are high in carbs & natural sugar, they have fiber & various vitamins while being a low fat choice. While a Snickers bar might be a good GI choice compared to other candy bars, it seems silly to…

I usually eat a banana a day. In still befuddled by a comment I read on here once that you might as well eat a Snickers bar as a banana because of the carbs. Please.

I took a look at your diary, and you're drinking a lot of calories which would leave me hungry. What's up with the slim fast powder & bars? I'd try to ease away from those. I do keep fiber/protein bars in my cabinet at work for when I'm dying for a snack before lunch, but I try to buy the ones with the east amount of sugar…
