  • I’d be happy to lose 15 pounds in 30 weeks. Do you have a plan for how we can support each other?
  • Two to four liters of water a day is not excessive. Maybe you just get really thirsty and that’s why you drink so much at once. I typically drink about two liters of water on a minimally active day. My sister is a runner, and and drinks a gallon of water daily. Although I have read that feeling hungry can be a sign that…
  • Unsweetened vanilla almond milk is my latest favorite in my coffee.
  • Sometimes I add the weight to my search. For example, if I search “watermelon” and it just comes up with cups, I’ll search again with “watermelon usda grams.” I might have to try a couple of different ways to find what I want. If it comes up with ounces and a gram amount in parentheses, then I choose the drop down by the…
  • If you're eating 1600 calories and doing 4 body pump classes a week, there's a good chance you will continue to lose about the same amount even as your weight goes down. I would think those body pump classes are blasting the calories. If I eat 1600 a day, I lose pounds whether I'm in the 130s or the 120s, and I'm a 5'5"…
  • I use the same brand. I started taking them as a preventive measure when a staph infection landed me in the hospital with surgery and iv antibiotics followed by weeks of oral antibiotics. I didn’t think my usual yogurt could ward off the yeast. Five months later, I avoided a yeast infection and think I have less bloating…
  • It might take a while to figure out exactly what your maintenance calories are. MFP and Apple Watch maintenance calories for me are within 100 calories of each other. However. I routinely eat 200+ calories more than either estimate, and I’ve lost about a pound in the last month according to trend weight.
  • I like mint chip. The cookies and cream had a weird flavor to me. I ended up throwing it away. Even though I live with a teenage boy who inhales ice cream on a nightly basis, no one would eat it.
  • Maybe you should get back on the wagon, but with an easier routine. I've recently been weighing my food, but in most cases I've found measuring with measuring cups is just as accurate. The only food I found I'd been underestimating calories for was peanut butter. However I'd been overestimating whipped butter, so it all…
  • I haven't bought a suit in a while, but I used to get some gorgeous ones at TJ Maxx. I think Ann Taylor, Loft, and White House Black Market all have sizes up to 16. They also run a bit large, so a 12 or 14 might fit.
  • Christine_72, I'm about your age and facing the same issue. At 5'5" around 125 pounds right now, I'm happy with everything except my triceps and my stomach. However, I keep reading that even strength training while losing weight won't maintain muscle mass, so I don't think I want to lose the last 10-14 pounds that would…
  • Right now it just feels like you've fallen off the wagon "big time." You said you've only gained back a few pounds. Now is the time to get back to your logging and exercise schedule. By logging your weekend binges, you'll be able to see how close to the weekly goal you can keep it. You can do it now!
  • That's about what I hit daily, and I consider myself "active," but I'm not carrying boxes.
  • Probably not realistic to lose 8 pounds in a month. I was around the same weight at the beginning of June, and I've only recently gotten to mid to low 120's. however, as soon as I started eating healthier with a calorie deficit, my clothes started fitting better. Eating healthier for me means eating to meet or exceed my…
  • At least you ate a lot fewer calories for the week than you would have eaten had you not been logging for the rest of the week. First weeks are a bit of an adjustment, I think. Keep on logging!
  • Unless you have a wifi enabled scale that is linked to your MFP account, you will have to enter your weight manually to track it.

  • Is yoga allowed? In addition to increasing flexibility, it's great for building strength using only body weight. It's nice to be able to attend some classes to receive feedback on form from the teacher, but there are lots of youtube videos you could use for free at home.
  • My stats are similar to yours. I'm about 5'5" and started at about 134 pounds with recommended calories around 1300 to lose 1/2 a pound a week. I have found that I am too cranky and low energy unless I eat between 1400-1600 calories daily. In addition, I usually have at least one day a week, maybe more depending on my…
  • Personally I need food to feel satisfied, so Slim Fast would never cut it for me. I need to eat, not drink my calories, so I can understand why you're having a hard time getting motivated. I gained over 70 pounds with my first child. I didn't lose it all until I quit nursing when she was about a year. Then I immediately…
  • You're not eating enough. You don't want to lose weight, yet you're hungry all the time. Eat more even if it means exceeding MFP's calories. You may need to experiment to find the correct maintenance goal for yourself.
  • Using Trendweight.com would make you feel better. I weigh several times a week, and it is frustrating when I see a weight on the scale that is 5 pounds heavier than the day before. However, Trendweight keeps me grounded by doing the math and letting me know that I'm losing 1/2 a pound a week which is a very reasonable rate…
  • I think you're confusing "knowing" with doing. The years I've eaten in moderation and exercised, I was fit. Times I've eaten excessively, often unhealthy foods which I rarely ate during the fit years, I gained weight quickly. The people I know who stay consistently fit are not just naturally thin. They are people who live…
  • I gave up desserts/candy nearly three weeks ago, and last night I dreamed I inadvertently ate 2 chocolates--the kind that would come in a Valentine's Day box. They weren't even good in the dream, and I was so disappointed to have broken my dessert/candy sugar fast.
  • Last time I got heavier than I was comfortable with about 6 years ago, I lost weight logging on MFP without weighing my food. I did use measuring cups or ramekins to guesstimate amounts. I'm back on MFP having regained 30 pounds, and I started off with just measuring cups, but I recently purchased a scale. It's let me know…
  • I never lost the last ten pounds when I was breastfeeding. Once I weaned, they fell off which didn't make sense because I didn't change my diet, and my body should no longer have needed as many calories to produce milk.
  • Are you weighing at the same time every day under the same conditions--same clothes, etc. How often are you weighing? My weight fluctuates from day to day depending on what I've eaten the day before even if I consume the same calories. I'm going to weigh more the day after Chickfila even if I stayed within my calories for…
  • I wear an activity tracking device, so I keep mine set on sedentary. I think I have more "purposefully active" days in the summer--taking walks, etc., than during the school year.
  • After I had my children, I never lost the last 10 pounds until I started to wean which was always when the babies were about 10 months to a year. Once I weaned, the weight would magically fall off. Of course, now that the youngest baby is 10 and I'm middle aged, it magically reappears when I make unhealthy choices. ;)
  • I'm a traditional cook in that I aim for a starch, protein,1-2 veggies per meal. Veggie-wise including beans we usually have some combination of the following: corn, salad, broccoli, black eye peas. Starch-wise we usually have just one of the following: pasta, rice, some form of potato Protein is usually a meat at my…
  • Log even on the days you fall off the wagon. It's tempting to not log because "what's the use?" Been there--recently. But for me entering it, even if it's the next morning like I just did reminds me how the extra 5 pounds crept on. Overeating by 1,200 calories once every could of weeks isn't going to do anything. But stop…
