There is absolutely no point consulting here for what it could be. Most of the suggestions in this thread range from unlikely to plain ridiculous. And we also don't know what you've already had bloods etc. for. If you are concerned go see your GP. To comment on some of the suggestions: 1. Inflammatory bowel disease (e.g.…

[Cows and gorillas'] metabolisms aren't hugely different from ours. They probably still have the same broad dietary requirements (energy, protein, vitamins). EDIT: Although presumably herbivorous animals have enzymes that we don't that are able to break down starch and plant proteins.

I think you did well to say that it's about being healthy and not about what you look like. It's so easy for a mother's dieting habits and eating hangups to diffuse passively to a daughter and become disordered eating.

Hi love, just to say I agree with what most of the above posters have said - it's unlikely that what you've gained back is adipose (fat) tissue, assuming your cals/day is accurate. If you're feeling disheartened, try taking your measurements every couple of weeks - then you'll see that even if the scales show a gain, your…

Hi Allan, I know the feeling! I'm just returning to the website after a 'relapse' haha :-P I too want to lose 20lbs, although I find it difficult to stick with the calorie counting (even though I know it works!).
