I suggest getting a crockpot or slow cooker. You can throw everything in there in the morning and eat when you get home. You can make some really healthy meals too. On Sunday, just prepare all of your ingredients and put them in bags so you can just dump them in the crockpot in the morning. Also, I second the notion of…

I have the bodymedia fit (almost the same as the bodybugg). It tracks calories burned, exercise level, steps taken, food intake (if you choose to enter it), and sleep. I have found that all of these are pretty accurate and are helping me get into even better shape. I think the fitbit is a glorified pedometer, but I'm not…

I would much prefer bacon, but I do eat the occasional peanut butter. The fats in it aren't as healthy as people want to believe. Peanut butter is kind of high in polyunsaturated fats and omega 6 and we get more than enough of these in our diets.

beets!!! Also, cabbage has been a weekly one as well

Hey, feel free to friend me! I have been gluten/grain free since January and follow a fairly good primal diet, but I do love my whole fat dairy!!!

I'm not sure of the answer, but I'm curious too. I know not to fall for "natural" though! That doesn't mean much

1. I ate around the number of calories that MFP suggested for a 1lb weight loss a week. I had good weeks where I would lose more than 1 pound and bad weeks where I would lose nothing. At about 2 pounds from my goal weight, I now have MFP set to only .5 pounds loss a week. I also have a bodymedia fit, so I base my calorie…

yeah, sugar can be a tough one. Salty things do it to me, especially tortilla chips. I would check out the 21 Day Sugar Detox. It might be nice to have a guide to getting yourself to kick the sugar habit. http://the21daysugardetox.com/

That sounds right. I was surprised by how many calories I burned on a low activity day. If you walked that much and you did cardio, then that is definitely close to correct! Give it a few days to see what you average. I've had great success with mine.

wheat addiction! It is pretty common and wheat does have addictive qualities. I would try cutting it and all forms of wheat (gluten) out for 30 days and see if your cravings go away. It will take a lot of willpower, especially if you are going to keep bread in the house for your daughter, but you can do it! Replace the…

try roasting veggies with some olive oil. You'll get healthy fats and roasting veggies adds a whole new flavor to them. I love roasted broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, beets, turnips, pretty much anything

your diary is really low in fat and protein. You should be reaching your fat and protein goals. Those are the things that keep you satiated. Fats don't make you at, don't be afraid to eat these from healthy sources.

I have a little patio garden this year. 6 tomato plants, 5 basil plants, and some lettuce. I have gardened in a community garden before and it was a great experience. I had some awesome plants and my tomatoes got well over 6 feet. I also made some friends doing it :) That was when I was 200 pounds too, so I definitely…

I'm 5'11" current weight: 162.2 (well a little higher today) goal weight: 160 Once I really get that goal, I'm going to work on building muscle and that number may change

if you like the sweet, stick with stevia. For the decadence, try a tablespoon or two of heavy cream. Yum yum and good fats if you get organic (even better if you go with grassfed!)

I don't really see the point. You'll just clean out your bowel and then put food back in it. Its not really going to aid in weight loss at all. I would also think there is some unnecessary risk associated with them. Never done it and not entirely sure what it involves though. I have had a colonoscopy and that was entirely…

My friends and I just ask for separate checks at the beginning of the meal. It makes it fair for everyone, especially since there are some heavy drinkers in my group. But, if that isn't an option, I don't think its a problem to speak up. I try to order cheaper meals and I almost never get an appetizer. If someone who drank…

I have some of these allergies (wheat and some nuts), but I also don't eat very much that contains soy, malt, or yeast. You may want to avoid anything with gluten since you have tested positive for wheat and malt allergies. Some foods to avoid: rye, barley, bulgur. As for foods, there are so many that you can still eat,…

Did you trim the fat? A pork butt usually has a lot of fat on it, but it can be trimmed too. 5000 calories for 5lbs of meat doesn't sound all that unreasonable. I put "pork butt" into the calculator at 80 oz (5 lbs) and got 4,240 calories. I mean, you won't be eating the whole thing, so its not like you will be consuming…

You'll want to do higher fat and protein percentage. Eat a lot of veggies and cut down or eliminate fruits. If you want some fruit, go with berries, they are lower in sugar. You may consider checking out Jimmy Moore's podcast Livin La Vida Low Carb. He's got some great guests on the podcast and some great advice. I would…

I looked back on the last week of your diary and I'm wondering what is costing so much. I feed two people (one really big eater!) for about $100 a week, including lots of grassfed meat. Did you just start eating as cleanly as you are (btw, your diary looks awesome)? If so, its going to cost a lot to get those staples in,…

I track just fat to make sure that I am getting enough. I eat about 50% of my diet from healthy fat sources. I don't track saturated because I know I have a pretty high intake compared to recommendations. All of my saturated fat comes from healthy sources: grassfed meat, pastured butter and milk, and coconut oil.

I don't have an issue with carbs in general, but I do have an issue with grains. I have cut most grains from my diet and all foods containing gluten. When I eat grains, I eat too much. Cutting out grains and gluten has naturally reduced my carb intake, but I don't worry about it too much about my intake percentage. I'm…

bump because the cheesecake sounds good. Also, I've never had a friend offer such critical unsolicited advice! I'm sorry you had this experience. I eat completely different from most of my friends, so to me many of their diaries look bad (breads, pastas, "diet" foods), but I just don't say anything because that is their…

congrats on your weight loss so far. I would talk to a doctor about this problem. If you are in that much pain, a doctor will be able to give you the proper recommendations.

I saw a lady driving badly and slowly on the highway. When I passed her, she was reading a novel!

Nice job! I did not avoid the ice cream social at work today, but it was gluten free and I'll count it as part of my 20% (which is always gluten free!).
-
I've heard about this. I'll have to go check it out.

I don't have kids, but I heard that lifting weights can help this problem. It might also help her bulk up a little since you said she is underweight.
