My ultimate goal is 135, too. I've been back and forth with calorie logging on MFP for years and have FINALLY found some success this year having lost about 20 lbs so far! I found some exercise I really love (yoga!) and am have been adding in weight training and cardio into the mix more recently. I'm as motivated as I've…

Best introductory post. lol

I agree with the previous poster- go when it's not crowded and just take your time. I'm a newbie to the gym too and before I started my workout plan, I went with my husband on a very slow Friday night. I walked around to all of the machines I needed to use on my workout plan and basically just did a dress rehearsal for…

I just started a 12 week fitness program from a personal trainer this week and they have me doing carb cycling. I've only been doing it for 2 days though so I can't really say much about whether it's successful or not haha. But so far, so good!

Um...your ink is amazing!! :)

This is awesome

Haha well I got it for an ex actually...dumb, I know. But it's kinda grown on me now....since ya know, it's permanent and all haha

I've got a whole bunch but my most ridiculous/interesting has to be Hulk Hogan haha. I don't really even like wrestling!

Yoga is effing amazing! I'd recommend finding a yoga studio that offers beginner's classes or even an introductory series of classes. That way you can learn all the basics and decide which style/type of class is going to be right for you. I started doing yoga regularly at a studio in January and have lost almost 20 pounds…

Hi there! I started right around your weight, am also trying to get down to 140ish, eat around 1350 calories a day and aim to exercise 4-5 times per week. We're practically twins haha! And I'd always love some more supportive friends on here :)

Kumquats! I just tried them yesterday and they were delicious. Who is your least favorite celebrity and why?

My fave snack of all time is a sliced up lemon covered in salt. My mouth is legit watering right now just thinking about it.

I'm doing the same thing! I have about 35lbs to lose and my husband and I aren't trying to get pregnant ....but we're also not "not" trying. Just going to see what happens and try and drop as much weight as possible in the meantime. Definitely a different kind of motivation from all the other times I tried to lose weight.…

I've been gluten free for a year and a half and I'll just be honest- it sucks. Even though I kinda knew I always had it (runs in my family) and have been absolutely ill every time I eat anything since age 12, I put off dealing with it until age 29. I did opt for the formal medical test at my doctor's office, but my doc…

My whole weekend will probably be a cheat meal. Starting with some margs and Mexican food tonight. Chips + Salsa = <3

Ha! Love it- I'm in.

Green/red/yellow peppers and raisins. All are pure POISON.

I love them! It's my favorite machine at the gym. You burn a ton of calories and can customize your work out so well and they're fun!

I'm no diet guru but here's my 2 cents on the matter- do whatever it is you need to in order to make this a true lifestyle change. For me personally, I'm not going to abstain from fattening food I really love for FOREVER, so why would I do that just to get to a goal weight and then start eating how I want again and ruin…

Yep- unsweetened almond milk is fabulous. Soy or coconut milk is a nice treat too sometimes (especially for baking) but almond is my main go-to for any kind of milk product.

I usually opt for Bloody Marys or Vodka Soda with extra lime. No super sugary shots, heavy beer or anything with fruit juice in it. And I actually save all my calories for alcohol especially so I won't have to drink more- getting drunker faster has it's perks when you're watching your calories (as long as you don't get too…

Great post!! 100% agreed!

Hang in there! Everyone has a fat day! I also fall into absolutely hating myself on "fat days" and getting really discouraged so I know what you mean. But the important thing to remember is that this whole thing isn't a race and you can't change absolutely everything overnight. I always tell myself "this time next year..."…

Hi there, Tiff! Welcome to MFP! I'll be a cheerleader for you and I can always use some extra encouragement. :) I've been at this thing for about 6 months now and fell off track around the holidays and am trying to stay motivated. I also want to lose about 30-35 pounds! Best of luck to you!

Fabulous post! Thank you so much for sharing! :)

Welcome! I'm returning back to the site after taking a break to eat my way through the holidays haha. So cheers to late start New Year's resolutions! This site is so awesome! Best of luck- you can do it! :)

I've never liked meat all that much and then watched Food, Inc. and read Crazy Sexy Diet this past spring and was absolutely grossed out by the impact meat has on our environment and our bodies. I've been a vegetarian (trying to go vegan) since May 30th.

Bump just means to "bump" this thread so that others can view it more easily. It "bumps" this thread to the top of the message board for this category since it's triggered by the time the very last person commented on this topic. So if you really like something and don't want it to be lost in the sea of other topics posted…
