  • OK, I am joining. I keep track of my food intake right now and my calories from 5:30 til late are literally twice (or more) than the whole day. I have terrible eating habits at night, terrible. I'm not sure what my deadline will be yet. I often do not get home until 6:30 or 7:00. I'll start with a cutoff of 8 PM.
  • I started Medifast recently. I have read up on it and am prepared now. I'll "friend" some of you for support, please feel free to do the same. I am just starting and love the ease of the program but really dislike the lack of vegetarian options for the meals. I am also on thyroid medicine and can't soy early in the day soy…
  • Easy. I live in a remote part of Louisiana so when I am home all my meals are prepared at home with whole ingredients, organic, local and unprocessed. I hunt and fish and have neighbors with chickens so all my meat is hand harvested. That's my CLEAN. When I go to New Orleans, an hour and a half north, I get a sugar filled…
  • I am seeing a lot of tall women posting here throwing numbers around like 145 and 135. I'm not so sure that's all that realistic for some of us amazons. But that is based on my body type, height and frame and I know everybody is different. I am only 5'8" but my goal is 145. I look amazing at 145. I still have boobs and a…
  • I plan on really running my butt off and drinking a lot of water. I know I will splurge a little but like I said I am going to run for an hour before hand.
  • 5'7" and 120 might be too skinny. Maybe find an objective friend or doctor to advise you. I am only one inch taller and I look sick at 137. My best weight is ten pounds more than you are now and I am only an inch taller. Maybe you are naturally very petite but 120 at your height is pushing it. There is a reason your body…
  • Thank you for sharing and for your military service.
  • Interesting thread. I changed my goals recently and was dropped down to 1200. I think it's reasonable. HOWEVER, since I have begun living more healthy I am working out more all the time and hard. I used to be happy with 15 minutes of fast walking now I am running for 30 minutes then lifting weights. So with all my workouts…
  • I do feed a commercial brand of dry too. I feed "Wellness". It's insanely expensive for two large working dogs but it's worth it.
  • I'm not a huge fan of the raw diet as far as it being a strict diet. Obviously it's fine from time to time but so much of our food is imported, treated with chemicals and handled poorly so your not doing your dogs a favor by feeding it to them. And I don't know anybody that can do free range grass fed organic products for…
  • AMEN!
  • This made me chuckle. There is dog mace out there special for these occasions. I have very well trained animals that are used for obedience demonstrations, public education, exercise buddies, guard dogs and companions. Loose biting dogs are UNACCEPTABLE no matter what the size and need to be dealt with harshly. The owner…
  • Call Animal Control.
  • Welcome. This website will help you take a good long look at how many calories you are consuming. Enter everything and do what you can for exercise. Log all that too. Reach out to the other moms on this board they might have some good pointers. You'll be amazed, and a little addicted, at what this site helps you do.…

  • I am certain that Abby Wambach burns 1400 calories and hour playing soccer, I would burn 400. People say Zumba is 800 calories an hour? No, my instructor is a dolt and I burn more on an elliptical. I try to resolve this by getting several different estimates. I also compare it to what I burn for the same amount of time on…
  • A substitue for beer? You mean what can you drink and not get fat? I myself am an avid beer drinker. I am also fat. Dude, there is no way around it. I quit drinking beer and I immediately lost 8 pounds. On a rare occasion I will have some wine or vodka with low fat tonic water. But beer is just a bunch (I mean a bunch) of…
  • This is very good advice. Sign up for 5K and 10K as your training. If you need to challenge yourself with the 5K go for your fastest time for the race. Gook luck your doing great! You are where I hope to be in in a couple weeks.
  • Oh My.
  • Good luck with that girls. As much as we could use a little cool off here in New Orleans, I am terrified of hurricanes. Too Soon!
  • You must face some interesting challenges in staying fit. I see my brother come home 20 pounds less or more depending on where he is and what he is doing. If your in a well established base you have a gym, but if your forward you have MREs and no gym, but maybe a ton of activity. My brother gave me a case of vegetarian…
  • Welcome. You'll find this is a great tool for keeping ya honest! I know that once I started adding up some of my calories I was shocked at how they added up and where.
  • GREAT WEBSITE THANK YOU!
  • I was wondering about this too. I did my first Zumba class this week and felt like it was a little less of an effort than elliptical for the same amount of time. I think my class was lackluster, too many breaks and a halfhearted effort from my teacher. I put in 350 for the one hour though I think I can increase that as I…
  • Off to buy a measuring tape...
  • I am on lost causes and would support anyone who wants to be captain. I am too new, and don't know all the "ins and outs" of this message board. But I am ready to kick butt.
  • What a great idea. I hate ab work and there is a video on netflix for a 10 minute workout. I am trying it tomorrow.
