  • I feel pretty good.. My weigh in is tomorrow, but I checked today.. Down 1.3 kg/2.8lbs from last week. A little ahead of schedule but no complaints here. Also, I've continued my streak of walking every day in April so far 2.5 to 3.5 miles. I hope everyone else is doing great!
  • A gallon of water weighs over 8 lbs. Generally you should weigh yourself first thing in the morning after having used the restroom ( #1 ) and before you've had anything to eat or drink. This will help keep it consistent with regards to water weight although high intakes of sodium and water the day before can impact your…
  • I can't drink the tap water where I live, so I usually buy 2.5 liter bottles of water and drink it straight from the bottle at room temperature. No glass to clean up and it is really easy for me to track it as I usually have about a bottle a day.
  • I'm in as well with my posting added inside the quote above.
  • Feel pretty good.. I've got 7 days in a row of walking between 2.5 and 3 miles each day. I hope everyone is having a great April Challenge!
  • All, thanks for sharing.. Good to know there are other "All or Nothing" people out there! megamom - I hurt my bad pretty bad a few years ago, several times since then, and again about 3 months ago. It was so bad, I couldn't walk for a week without a lot of pain. It was then that I decided that if I was going to be…
  • This thread got me thinking of all the different fruits I've had recently.. Another one I had for the first time lately was a Tumbo. It is like a passion fruit or granadilla but really bitter. I think that exhausts it. courtney_love2001 - I wished I liked mushrooms, but I can't stand to eat them.
  • Great job Jimmie! Congrats on the progress and keep up the great work!
  • I've never had a dragon fruit, but in Peru there is a fruit that looks almost identical called "Tuna". It comes in a green and red variety with the seeds mixed in the fruit like the dragon fruit. I'm getting hungry.
  • You can use Google Earth to figure out your mileage. I use it quite frequently to see how far I've gone and best of all, it is free! http://earth.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=guide.cs&guide=22365&topic=23730&answer=148134

  • I planned on losing 10 lbs in April, so I'm in too.. Good luck to everyone!
  • Quinoa is great.. We eat it quite often. You can also mix it with fruit drinks/shakes/etc (after boiling it a little bit) to add some protein and fiber. As far as recipes you can substitute it for rice. Something easy to make is add some low fat cheese, a little skim milk, and some broccoli and make a nice tasty dish.…
  • Might I suggest frozen mangos. They remain soft even when frozen and are delicious! Or mixing mangos with yogurt (low fat and/or with splenda/stevia/etc) and freezing it. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  • Awesome, thanks for the feedback..
  • Hahaha I do eat the entire apple minus the stem, however I don't eat the skin of a mandarine orange! My question was what the DB entry actually represents. Does it represent the weight with or without the skin. ie, if 100g of Tangerine, raw contains 53 calories does the 100g count the skin or not... Thanks!
  • Corn tortillas cut up and baked aren't bad either. Unfortunately there isn't a great substitution for fried chips!
  • On the topic of evil sugar I wanted to share the birthday cake that I got. No added sugar and delicious! http://yfrog.com/jpimg1216vfj
  • 49lbs lost is great! Water weight is only just water. As a suggestion, wait a couple days or do your weigh in next week so you don't have the water weight from the Easter Weekend sodium laden yummy food! :)
  • Look into meal replacement shakes/protein shakes. You can easily mix one of these bad boys up, add some bananas or whatever and easily add back 400 calories with something that tastes good. Just an idea if you are having trouble eating them!
  • Here is a nifty little counter program. It can help you count by distance or by speed: http://www.runtheplanet.com/resources/tools/calculators/caloriecounter.asp

  • Use corn tortillas instead of flour. Check out the calories on the packages and you'll see a huge differences. Just make sure you heat them up first which isn't necessarily required of a flour tortilla. Also, although it is relatively high in calories, avocado is still a pretty healthy fruit. This can be used instead of…

  • Besides water, I think the coffee drink with the least amount of calories is an americano. What I typically have is an iced americano with a splash of fat free milk and some splenda.. It has about 20-30 calories total depending mostly on how much milk you add.
  • Yeah I'm catching up to you! Just 3 kgs and I will be in the upper league with you. I hope I can hang!
  • I'm an American expat living in South America so I decided not to fight the metric system! Plus 20kg just seems easier than 40+ lbs! Ha
  • I know the group isn't so active, but I'll join as well. I'm well on my way to re-losing a bunch of weight I've put back on since hurting my back several times and not being able to exercise (and have been eating poorly). Anyways, it is always fun to be inspired, inspire, and have fun. Good luck to all! Created by…
  • Frozen mangos which you can either buy in the frozen section or freeze a cut up fresh mango are soft like icecream when you eat them.. Quite tasty alternative to icecream.
