You look amazing! I'm looking to lose about 48 lbs and was beginning to wonder if I'd ever look any different to how I look now. Your pics have really motivated me to keep going. I'm 14 pounds down already, so already a good bit of the way there. :)

Yeah, weight loss is a very individual thing. Some people see massive drops in the first week and then don't see anything for weeks. Some people don't see anything at first and then start a slow but steady weight loss. Others are slow and steady all the way along. It isn't something that can be predicted, unfortunately.…

Most spirits with a Diet soft drink mixer are fairly low in calories eg. vodka and diet coke

Hey, I'm from the UK and would help you out but unfortunately I'm tee-total (well apart from the very occassional....like a couple of times a year maximum....that I have a wee cheeky rum and coke).

Oh honey. It is hard when you lose someone but if you put the weight back on by over-eating then not only will you feel upset over your loss but you'll also feel disappointed that you've undone all your hard work. The short-term gain from eating some junk food is not worth it in the long run and others are right in saying…

You American sorts probably wont know who I'm talking about here but Google him (he's amazingly smart and cool!). When I was younger (like maybe 19) I went to see this psychological illusionist called Derren Brown who I had followed watching his TV shows for a few years. Anyway, he wasn't as big a star back then as he is…

I totally echo what everyone else is saying. Remind yourself that I would guess almost everyone going through a weight-loss journey experiences the same thing from time to time and as people have said, the difference is picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and getting back on with things rather than thinking, "Oh…

We don't have Girl Scout cookies here in the UK and hearing you guys talking about them totally makes me want to try them! Lol.

Feel free to add me. I'm in the UK but am also a Christian. :)

I do attack religiously (usually at least 3 times a week). I've done combat in the past (although not now as the times at my gym aren't so good for me these days and the woman who takes the class isn't as good) and I've done step once or twice. I personally HATE step, partly because I'm always worried I'm going to trip…

Well done! It is a great feeling when the weight loss starts to show! :)

I do the Les Mills classes at my gym and sometimes Zumba. I find them hugely motivating and burn way more than I would at the boring old gym, so I'd definately recommend them. Don't be worried about what people think of you because most of the time, people are too busy worrying about what they look like/how to do the…

I went on holiday for a couple of days and so was eating out on restaurants and then came home and had the TOM and all I wanted to do was eat chocolate, which I did with gusto! Was dreading facing the scales today after a week like that and also no gym time all week......but I'd lost 2 lbs. All I can think is that shaking…

Wow! It's amazing how much the weight loss has changed how your face looks! You've went from looking like an average Joe to looking like a movie star! Awesome job!

It depends. If mine is painful or heavy then I'll usually give it a miss. I always find that exercise makes my cramps go away during it but as soon as I stop they come back 100 times worse, so it just so isn't worth it for me if I've got cramps. I'd maybe attempt a walk or something but to be honest, mine only usually…

What about making chilli or something similar....you can take microwaveable rice along with you to work, if you need it, or just have the chilli. Also, soup works great frozen and microwaved back to life. A nice hearty soup will keep you full and if you need to eat some bread with it, then you can easily take that to work…

I'm afraid this is a closed challenge that started back in January :(

I've got more hobbies than I have time! Lol. Music is my first love and I play piano, guitar, trumpet and toy with flute and clarinet and I love to sing. I love reading although right now I only have time to do PhD reading and very little time for recreational reading. I also love arts and crafts and make jewellery, cards…

I've got an Android phone like you and when the app works, it is good, but between the odd problem with the app and the fact that my mobile internet on my phone seems to be rubbish, I tend to just wait til I get to a computer. I work from home most days, though, so it's easy for me to get to a computer and log in after…

This! Some people swear by Paleo diet or Atkins or whatever. I know that I would definately not stick with either and this is a lifestyle change that I want to keep up for the rest of my lives. So I eat what I want, when I want, in moderation and in respect to my calorie goals.
-
Yeah, I'm the same. I clicked sedentary, too. You can always add in exercise to account for days where you are doing more.
-
Well my boyfriend promised to take me away somewhere if I get to my goal weight, so I'll have to hold him to that! Other than that, the weight loss itself is what is keeping me motivated. I love coming on here and putting a new weight in and seeing my ticker change :)

I LOVE red onion so tend to chop up some onion, maybe get some sweetcorn too, if I'm in the mood, and mix it in with my tuna. Yummm. Simple but yummmmm!

Yeah, I guess in 'proper' non chain restaurants it would be hard for them to accurately give a calorie count since they are working with fresh produce every day and not weighing everything accurately. I think it would be good if most restaurants could give even guideline calorie amounts on menus but I think it is very…

I guess I'm lucky in that I've never enjoyed the taste of alcohol (only thing I kinda like is Sailor Jerry Rum with Coke but don't think that I like it enough for it to be worth the calories so have only had it maybe about 4 times in my life). I don't know if you can get them in the states but I know here that you can buy…

I feel your pain. I'm 5 foot and have lost 10 pounds and thought I'd be able to see/feel a difference in myself already but haven't really felt anything yet. I'm aiming to lose about 3 and a half stone in total so thought that by 10 lbs it would be more visible but I'm just going to keep trying and reassess things at 20lbs…

It was really hard :( I think only doggy people understand how bad it is to lose a pet....people without pets just think you're a bit crazy for being upset about it. She was 15, though, so she was an old lady and she was ill and in lots of pain so it would have been unfair to keep her suffering but it was still sad. :(
-
My dog used to but we had to get her put down in November :( I wish I had her back interrupting my workouts :(
-
Well you say you are new but how new? How long have you been doing this?
-
Oh my word! This is truly shocking! I'm pretty sure that a restaurant serving something like that wouldn't even be allowed here in the UK. The fact that the restaurant is celebrating how bad for you their food is is also a bit like WTH. Sounds like an awful place! Lol.
