  • I understand what you're saying , however , as I am only 5ft tall , and only just overweight, mfp has set me at 1200 cals - and at that (according to MFP) I should only lose 0.5 lb a week. So 1200 cals is a slow , gradual weight loss for some. There's no way I could aim for 1600,1700 or anything remotely that high as even…
  • I do the cooking in my house, and yes , my other half doesn't want to eat the same stuff as me. but thats fine , because if he did the cooking i wouldn't want to eat the same stuff as him either ! I try to adapt "normal" meals to healthier / lower calorie ones . For example , i'll cook chicken breast and do chips for him ,…
  • same here - when i think of how i want to be it isn't "thin", it's toned.
  • I don't know if you have tried yoga or pilates but i found they helped tone up my mid section alot when sit ups failed.
  • 5'0 - feel free to add me ;-)
  • mfp set me a weight loss goal of less than a pound a week - I knew I was going to find it demoralising hopping on the scale and seeing next to no movement week after week so I didn't weight at all for the first 6 weeks. I'll probably keep to once a month now just to monitor but I'm more interested in how I feel & how my…
  • I'm in the same boat as i've had a LOT of weddings, BBQ's , birthdays and so on over the last few months. Events where it's appropriate, (ie , BBQ's, casual snacks at friends etc) I take a healthy option like salad , veg sticks & dip and so on. I'll have anything else I fancy , but in moderation. Formal events like…
  • HAHAHAHAHA!
  • i'm 5'0 too - 9st 5 at the moment - feel free to add me x
  • i think the above posters have it spot on - also maybe you could try toning up the areas you're not happy with rather than trying to lose weight. For my part I think you look great in your picture !
  • yep , same as the above poster , i also am rather well endowed up front , which is where i seem to have put on a lot of my weight. I fear I have started to look like a page 3 wannabe - I like having curves but a 32dd chest is quite hard to dress.
  • I have 30 g of special K topped with the same of museli , with semi skimmed milk - it's around 290 cal but keeps me full until lunch time, and I find a decent breakfast helps keep me on track for the rest of the day.
  • i'm 5 ft too - my goal is 8 stone / 112 pounds, love to be a size 8 again !
  • glad you posted this , i'm in the same boat . my BMR is 1248 , I am on 1200 calories a day. I am also around your height , 5ft , however i am no where near my goal weight, I hope to loose around 20lbs. This is where i get confused about whether I should be eating more or less calories - how can my minimum be 1200 if my BMR…
  • yeah I have been wondering the same thing - i'm on 1200 a day and i'm only 5ft ....I've not lost any weight yet and been at this about a month. I have been going over some days and have had quite a lot of social events to attend on weekends where it's not that easy to control what you eat (weddings and the like). I'm now…
  • i'm on 1200 , i don't find it too bad. I tend to go for low cal crispbreads when i need a "crunch" rather than crisps , and they are great for lunch with a salad. Also soups are great too for lunch , and there are plenty of veggy options with grains and beans in that are low cal , healthy, and tend to keep me full for a…
  • I love veggie meals - here are some of my favorites greek salad - tomato, cucumber, onion & feta - salt & pepper them & add a drizzle of olive oil , leave a couple of minutes for the salt to bring out the juices - delicious veggie kebabs - courgette, tomato, pepper, mushroom, onion etc - season & roast them stir fry's -…
  • some really useful information - however i'm not sure that training yourself against hunger or exercising whilst fasting are things anyone should do.
