Thank you so, so much for your replies! I will go and check out all your suggestions, thank you. It will be a first interview, yes. I'm only sending out applications at the moment but I'd rather give myself time to scour the internet and the high street to find something appropriate than panic buy something horrific and…

You know what, when someone has an unhealthy attitude towards food, for whatever reason, it can be so hard to adjust your thought processes to sustain any weight management long term. But you've done it before, and I know you can do it again. You are taking so may strong and positive steps to achieve change, be proud of…

I can gain anywhere between 2 and 7lbs in water weight in the days leading up to my period. I can also stay very bloated during it too, so the week or two around my period is pretty much just guesswork for weight. I also get very hungry with pretty intense cravings for sweet foods. If I don't keep an eye on this that water…

MFP gives you a calorie allowance based on a built in deficit. So when you eat 1200 calories and burn 400 you've actually netted 800. That's not very much to sustain an energetic young woman on. Stop comparing yourself to your friends! They are not all the same height, weight, build and with the same metabolism as you. You…

Yes it does sound like you're developing an unhealthy attitude towards food and health/fitness. But the good news is you are aware of that which means you can take action to change it. You're already within a healthy weight according to BMI, I'm curious why you want to drop a full stone? I mean, you'll still be within the…

I don't think it was unhelpful at all, I think it's pretty spot on advice to be honest.

I have never smoked so I don't know what it feels like first hand but I know that the addiction can be hard to break, so I just wanna say how amazing you are for fighting the urge! You should be really, really proud of yourself!

Yeah, this. He's an adult and can make his own life choices, and part of that is dealing with the consequences. He may be finding it hard to transition to a gluten free diet and if that's the case I sympathise, but he'll learn pretty sharp surely if every time he sneaks pizza it makes him sick as a dog.

It depends on your doctor, and if you live in America, your insurance. Aside from the fact weight loss can reduce their size anyway, losing more through weight loss could mean shorter and less complex surgery, not to mention the risks of surgery while overweight/obese. You can't always just hop on down to the hospital and…

"Today I'm absolutely wrecked, sore, stiff, I don't think I can do my usual workout today". Haven't you answered your own question?
-
I will never understand how people don't get this. To lose weight you need a deficit. MFP sets you a daily allowance which includes that deficit. Not eating back any calories burned simply increases that deficit to potentially unsustainable levels. For example, if you burned 600 calories at the gym every day without eating…

It's really weird, there was no specific trigger moment for me. I had 'known' I needed to lose weight for many years (all the while putting more and more weight on...) kinda like a smoker 'knows' they should quit. And yet somehow I just never. One day I signed up here, started logging, and that was it. I've fallen off the…

He is extremely supportive and tells me all the time how proud he is of me. We share cooking 50/50 and he does everything he can to help me reach my goals. I wouldn't be with anyone who offered anything less.

How many lbs down was that blonde?
-
About once a month I get a bf% reading, although off the top of my head I can't remember what the last one was. I am waiting for that first noticable difference with bated breath!
-
Haha, not the answer I was hoping for!
-
Oh thank you guys! I can meal plan with the best of them but I struggle to think outside the box when it comes to things like this.

Everything hurts so I'm willing to give anything a go! It's mostly the lack of appetite, everything seems revolting right now!

If I could find a soup I could stomach eating I'd go nuts eating that! I had some soup earlier this week and it took me about 2 hours to eat just one bowlful :( I might try some different flavours of the chilled ones and see if I fancy any of the others more though, thanks.

If it makes you less weirdly judgemental of people who choose a different method to you, then sure. Did you get the answers you were looking for? Did you really need to ask to get those answers? Is it really so hard to understand different people like different things?

Stupid questions - why?

Oh gosh, all sorts! Fruit salad with natural yogurt Poached egg on wholemeal toast Banana butty on wholemeal bread Scrambled egg Omelette Beans on wholemeal toast Veggie bacon/ or veggie sausage sandwich Spicy potato and mushroom hash One-pan savoury grilled breakfast…

Go see your doctor. It's not really worth the risk just in case it's something serious.

Ooh I love being nosey at other people's diaries! Breakfast = Homemade fruit salad with fat free natural yogurt and a glass of fruit juice. Lunch = Homemade carrot couscous with salad. Dinner = Homemade veggie ham and pea tagliatelle. Snacks = Grapes, poached egg on wholemeal toast and a chocolate bar.

I'm always curious about these kinds of posts. Presumably once you ate way over 1200 calories per day?
-
I suspect you've just got confused here and said BMR when you meant TDEE. At least i hope that's the case! If you're eating below your BMR then for definite you need to up your calories. If you're eating below your TDEE but are still feeling lethargic and ill then you're either actually ill, not getting enough sleep, or…

Then I suggest weight lifting as your main work out as opposed to cardio. 10lbs isn't much so don't expect it to all drop off in a month, but you can definitely achieve it. Your calories seem quite low for someone doing that much weight lifting. I'd try to increase your calories and see where that gets you.
-
I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Is this a one-off or do you frequently feel like this?
-
Sorry have I misunderstood your OP? You've been doing MFP for 10 days and in that time have lost 4lbs is that right? Your rogue lb is one of these things: Water weight. Time of the month. Something you ate yesterday. Something you ate today. The time of day you weighed yourself. Natural fluctuation. Not been to the…

You're probably eating too few calories, or eating the wrong things. If you make your diary public people can advise better. Also, you're only aiming to lose 15lbs. So that should be approx. 0.5lbs per week. The weight loss will seem slower because you don't have as much to lose.
