  • You may want to consider experimenting with a different diet plan. I lost immense amounts of weight doing low-carb eating, where I restricted carb intake to less then 60 grams a day. You may want to tweak your macro levels and see if more protein and fat vs. carbs will impact your fat loss. Also, freeweights, freeweights…
  • I'll post here when I get home tonight. You're looking awesome, brother. Keep up the great work!
  • FINALLY! Some one who UNDERSTANDS me!

  • Y'all are awesome! Brothers in arms (brothers in shorts?) @whierd - I see your one, and raise you another!
  • LYNNSR - You're gorgeous!
  • In the women's post, I was one of the guys who asked what the male equivalent would be- I asked all of the people in my FL here, and most all of them replied that it was "all for the individual person." I though about this myself realized that my greatest insecurity has always been about taking off my shirt. I remember as…
  • I got your guys back, as soon as I figure out how to post pics on the forums!
  • Tears? You mean water condensing on my face due to my total frozen coolness? On that note, if I watch the Pixar film Up, I totally lose it. Great, now I have to go fist fight a bear just to feel manly again
  • This is BRILLIANT.
  • You look great! And congratulations on having the courage to do it!
  • So I KNOW a ton of guys are on here eyeing these beautiful ladies (and you are ALL, incredibly GORGEOUS!) I wonder - what's our equivalent? Pics with no shirts? Swim shorts? Don't know if I could go down to a speedo, but, hey, we gotta represent too!!!
  • All around, this pretty good :) Just remember, you cant really "target' body parts for weight loss- you lost fat all over, so any work you do will help you lost the weight that you want to lose
  • I usually do stages of rewards: Little Goals - if I need a kick in the butt to get a workout done, or something small like that, I will buy myself a track on iTunes or amazon Medium Goals - for staying on top of eating and exercising for a month, I get something bigger, like an outfit or an article of clothing Big Goals -…
  • Amazing! Great work!
  • Wowowowowowow!!! Great work! You are an inspiration!
  • There might be several reasons: 1) body weight fluctuates daily, which is why I tend not to pay attention to it: i have gone up and down anywhere between 3 and 5 pounds in a single day 2) with weight training (and I am not sure how much you are doing) you may gain weight AND lose fat%, since you may be gaining muscle…
  • Amen! I am working on getting better at boxing, so I push myself to go to classes. practice, and save money for PT sessions

  • My best motivation actually comes from the waiting - when I first started working out, I took pictures of myself, and then each moth, I took pictures. It was cool to see the gradual transformation - the progress was slow, but keeping track of it made a whole bunch of difference. You can see the befores and afters in my…
  • I have a couple of suggestions: 1) run with a friend. A lot of the edge is taken off when you have someone with you. It gives you someone to talk to and focus on so that you're not worried about what other people (who, by the way, are JUST as scared of YOU looking at THEM and thinking about them jiggling, by the way) are…
  • AWESOME GOAL! I keep my goals in smaller ranges, since I am working on different goals- for example, if I complete a certain number of workouts in a week, or if I burn a certain number of calories in a week, I take myself out for something fun like a movie, or to Banana republic to buy a shirt or something. Keep up the…
  • Im with WickedGarden and MightyDomo - donating is always good, but keeping some around is great for motivation, in both directions: 1) I keep a pair of jeans, size 34, which represent my next milestone. They are on a hanger, hanging on the wall. I look at them whenever I am feeling reluctant to work out, or feel like…
  • Very early on, when I was first losing weight, I discovered that having public support was one of the most essential parts to my success. I posted and blogged on facebook weekly posted progress pics on a monthly basis. At first it was a little frightening (pictures of me online in my undies was slightly uncomfortable) but…
  • These things happen! I totally understand. A couple of things that help me: have a registered dietitian do a body analysis of you. That way, you can have an accurate measure of your fat%, your muscle % and your water %. This will help so that you can know where you are, and where you want to be. once you know your lean…
  • It happens! The question is: What will you do about it? As a friend of mine loves to remind me: You only ever really fail when you quit trying. You are still trying, so you have not quit and you have not lost. Keep up the work!
  • Wow. That's amazing to have the perception that you have after all that you have experienced. I am always looking for new and positive people to motivate and to help motivate me. Feel free to add :)
  • Im in. I am trying to get down to 185, and to drop 10% body fat. That will probably take longer, but hey, I can still use some motivators for that too!
