You’re welcome to add me! I have quite a few more pounds to lose than you do, but I’m a mom of 5! I had a little bit of a health scare a month ago, and I’ve been exercising and trying to eat better since.

I didn’t say “impossible”, I just said “harder”. I know a lot of people, after menopause, who eat well, exercise, and literally do everything right, including counting calories on MFP, who just have a harder time than they used to. We all say, “the older we get, the harder it is”, and in my experience, it’s absolutely the…

I think as we age, our metabolism slows. I’m 43, so not menopausal yet, but every diet I go on gets a little harder. I used to be able to just cut simple sugars and white bread, and the weight would come off. The last diet I went on, it still pretty steadily came off, but not nearly as easily as before, and now... it’s…

I love this! I'm pro-gun.

No. You don't have to eat breakfast. Your body isn't stupid. If you aren't hungry, and it messes with the rest of your day, that would be a good clue to skip it. There are lots and lots of people who will give you a different opinion, but I've seen WAY too many people lose weight, AND be fit without every eating breakfast.

Yep! Pickles! They're zero calories... I don't quite know how that's possible, but that's what the jar says!

We go to Disney a lot :D I'm starting to twitch because it's been almost a year since our last trip ;-) I agree with the above poster... you walk a lot. We've done Disney with and without the meal plans, and no matter what I ate, I never gained, so I say don't worry about it too much. But there's LOTS of healthy stuff to…

Ummm... you lost 110 pounds! That is BEYOND fabulous! You look amazing, and If I were you, I'd be happy too! I know it's hard to be content sometimes, but just remember... this is a life-long thing. It never really ends, we just keep on eating healthily and exercising. If there's anything else to come off, it will come…

I used to be 5' 9", now I'm 5' 8"... it's so hard to want to switch your goal around huh? I keep wanting to re-measure myself to see if there was a mess-up somewhere :) At 5' 8", my goal is 145. I so wish I still had that inch!

Congrats! 13 lbs isn't at all extreme for your 1st 2 weeks. Yes, it does slow down... I lose that much about every month and a half now. But losing that much at first was what got me motivated to lose the weight, so embrace it!

Look ate how cute you are! Great job!

Could just be the sodium! It does me in every time. After a couple of days of drinking loads of water, I do fine and my weight levels back out. Have a fun week!

Can't wait to hear how you did!

Good job! I'm fasting again tomorrow & hoping I'm not as hungry as I was yesterday :) And just after I think I'm good and used to it
-
I love how they're called "Seared" Chicken Snack Wraps. They're called "Grilled" here :)
-
OMGosh! I'm fasting today, and you people are killing me with the food descriptions! Lol! Okay... today is hard :)
-
Jim, that's what I've been doing and it works great for me. On average, I lose about a pound every day that I fast, but more than that, I just feel like I have more control over my eating habits... I guess I just feel like I don't have as much to keep up with. I still eat really healthily, but on my eat days I don't have…

You're doing great! And you never know! You might be surprised!
-
Ummm... I think I could have packed that away on a typical day.. minus the bag of pepperoni ;-), and I'm a girl! Lol! I'm so glad we've bettered ourselves!
-
I'm still a lot more hungry during that time, but finally after 3 months, I feel like I have a handle on it. The last two months, I totally screwed things up, but this month, I've done fine. I will admit that I've eaten quite a few of my allotted calories in chocolate, but I've stayed within my limits and have managed to…

I would assume that your being sick may have caused you to ovulate later than normal, which would cause you to be late. That's just a theory though. I would put a call in to your nurse and see what she has to say.

Okay here's a run-down of my progress this month! Sorry I've been MIA... it's just taking me a while to get back into the swing of things! 09/23/2011- 186.4 (This is where I jumped ship) 10/16/2011- 184.4 10/18/2011- 182.6 10/20/2011- 181.6 10/22/2011- 181.4. 10/25/2011- 180.2 So... I've made my 5 lb goal for this month,…

I know... Oatmeal can get tricky, but it holds me over for such a long time, I can't go without it! This is what I had for breakfast... 1/2 cup of oatmeal (cooked in a cup of water) 2 tbsp of natural peanut butter 1 cup of stawberry halves coffee (black) That was 389 calories I used to use cream in my coffee, but the…

I either work out to "earn" my next meal, or I stop eating :) I've never eaten my whole days worth at breakfast (yet), but certainly by lunch :)
-
Yeah, no... I don't think it has any effect on fat loss either. I just assumed that there were other health benefits associated with it, but I'm a COMPLETE idiot when it comes to the science behind IF. I'm slowly learning though! Lol! Thanks again :)
-
Wow... you're doing an amazing job! I love that you got a "red flag" at the doctor's office :) That's fun to know that you're doing something that not a lot of people are able to do. Congratulations!
-
Bump!
-
See... that's why I said "If I'm correct"! I knew someone would correct me if I was wrong! Lol! When I started IF, I was reading SO many articles on the subject, and that was one of the things that stuck with me. I think the theory was that "normal" dieting today dictates that we should eat 5 meals a day, which has us…

You're right, the window just allows you a shorter amount of time to eat, which helps keep you within your calorie goal. You should still eat what MFP has you set at within that window. The benefit though, is the fasting period. It gives your digestive system a rest, and if I'm remembering correctly, it allows your body to…
