I'm training for a 5K as well and when I started I could barely make it five minutes before I wanted to stop. I started doing intervals while listening to my iPod so that I'd run for one song, walk for the next, run for the next and so on. Then I just worked up to running for two songs and walking for one. Now I can run…

I look at my before and after picture. (I have it on my fridge at home, at my desk at work and on my phone.) Remember how I used to look when I didn't want to work out reminds me why I do. That and there's a really good looking guy who works out at the gym the same time I do every day so even if I don't want to go, I go…

About three times as many as a squirrel, but with a lot more fat.

Ditto! I've never understood the fuss.

I don't need to be considered hot by everyone. Just that one great guy with whom I'm going to spend the rest of my life. But I wouldn't mind if I was.

Every time I told people in the past, I ended up failing and gaining back the weight, plus some. Also a lot of people felt like it was an invitation to tell me how to lose weight or what I was doing wrong. Then I saw this video and decided not to announce my intentions when I started on MFP:…

I love Fage. I add berries in from time to time.

Remember that this is just two weeks. It's going to take a while for you to start seeing the more drastic changes you are expecting. Keep up the good work and don't give up.

Sadly since sizes are no longer standardized, there is no "true size" in any thing for women. I went into one store and came out with a bunch of different shirts of the same store brand that all fit me great, but some were sized as small, some medium and some large.

I've only noticed that I get hit on a lot by younger men who have a cougar fantasy, but I'd prefer someone older.

Yup. Couldn't have a unicorn post without him. :)

I've seen people fall off and the only major injury was to their pride. Otherwise, you can hold on to the rails until you get comfortable. It won't negate your calorie burn unless you start leaning on them to support your weight rather than letting your legs do the work.

Sure. Why not. Experiment for a week. See what happens.

I love their microwaveable brown rice. I mix it with some of their pico de gallo and chunks of avocado and tear a slice of their low sodium turkey for a yummy lunch. The spicy hummus makes a great veggie dip or mayo substitute on sandwiches. Their oatmeal are great as well. The pre made salads also are awesome!

A mix of Deadmau5, David Guetta, Depeche Mode, 80s music, Bollywood soundtracks and German rock.

I love my legs. They are getting so strong, look great and make me proud.

I went through something similar. Was dating a man and talking about marriage and kids, but as I lost weight, he became more and more certain I would leave him so he cheated on me. I left and didn't look back. It's been rough because I have dated since then, but still haven't found "the one" so it can be depressing at…

I don't have much to add to what everyone else has said, but I did want to send you hugs. I understand the fear. I remember feeling that way myself. Just know that you CAN do this and there are so many great people on here who want to support you and be there for you. See your doctor and, if nothing else, think of your…

Actually if you walk on an incline you'll burn a lot more calories than running on a flat surface in the same amount of time and it's much easier on the joints.

People do tend to make assumptions about others level of fitness by assuming that one would look a certain way. I have a friend whose biceps look super toned and mine still look big and flabby yet when we do weights, my upper body is much stronger than hers. Genetics are a ***** sometimes. But it doesn't matter what…

80% of weight loss is what and how much you eat so just watch your nutrition while you heal.

12 pounds in one month? That's awesome! Start worrying if you are losing less than 1-2 pounds a week. Otherwise sounds like you are doing great.

When I started out, I was eating 1400-1600 calories a day and losing weight and I was close to your size and weight. I wouldn't recommend anything lower than 1200 calories without medical supervision, but if you are just starting out, I'd recommend a little more until you get used to eating less. Good luck!…

The most important thing you need to learn is to be patient and forgiving of yourself. I continue to have crap days where I go overboard, but it didn't keep me from losing weight. (Slowed me down a bit maybe, but I still did I it.) If you were trying to learn a new language, you wouldn't be punishing yourself for not being…
