A really good day for me. I got in my steps around the garden and soaked up some vitamin d to help with recovery. I realised tonight that I haven’t really had much of an appetite (this realisation came when I actually enjoyed a normal full sized meal for the first time since I got tested.) Working my way through the…

Today I got 10000 steps. Thankfully we have a rather large garden although it was a large amount of circles. I did it in two batches but because I got bored not tired. Still eating reasonably well and although I’m not logging I’m confident I’m eating at a reasonable amount for now. Being careful not to rush into overdoing…

Thanks for all the support. I’m recovering well and going to try for some light exercise in the garden today.

I’m late but this nsv is too good to miss and it did happen on 15th! I stepped back on the competition mat for the first time in over two years, first time with only one kidney, first time since I broke both of the bones in my forearm in a competition! Not only did I not get injured, but I walked away with a silver medal.…

Hey everyone. Sorry it took so long to update everyone on my competition. The weekend was great, it was the biggest Jiu Jitsu competition ever held in South Africa and everyone brought their best game. It was amazing to watch all the athletes from the smallest little ones through to the professionals. We live streamed all…

A light day exercise wise but I did get in a yoga session. Flying in COVID times is different but I still enjoy the experience especially when I’m excited about the destination. I’m weighed in for competition and refreshed my referee course so after I compete tomorrow I’ll help with that side of things. Also had dinner…

Today was meant to be another light day to build energy for competition, except I had to work which included unloading 1.8 tonnes of fish. It wasn’t so bad and went pretty quickly thanks to a great team. That was my last work day until 7 June!!! Gotta take my leave from last year before end of June or I lose it. Although…

I definitely work out for longer than three hours a week. Today I did 47 minutes of yoga and 75 minutes of Jiu Jitsu. That’s not counting coaching kids class and I don’t count work which is pretty physical (today I repacked the fish freezer so the old stuff is all easy to access when we add the new stock tomorrow. That…

Definitely got the exercise in today. 45 minutes group session with trainer this morning, busy morning at work, yoga in the afternoon and Jiu Jitsu class tonight. I start taking it easy tomorrow to build up energy levels for Saturday’s competition. Food logged and mostly good choices with a couple of small treats. Slightly…

Despite a chaotic day at work, it was a good day. Our Jiu Jitsu gym moved to a new location where we have our own space so don’t have to stack out the mats for every class. Today was first classes in the new space and it was great. We also changed some of the classes up and it worked great. Prepping for competition…

A successful day. Morning run before a beautiful church service where my friend’s adorable little boy was dedicated on his first birthday. I don’t get to morning services that often these days between work and going camping etc so it was great to catch up with friend’s at that service and all their kids. Home for lunch and…

Hmm, the weather was miserable so I didn’t run but I did walk around to feed my friend’s dogs later so I got some exercise in. Logged all my food and was way under. It was fight night for our Captain (he won) and I went to watch with some of the other girls. I made soup and there was salad and chicken and popcorn. I stuck…

I’m back. Drove through to Cape Town to fetch my parents from my brother this week. 800km trip each way and I drove the whole thing. Despite the bad storms I drove through on the way there, that was easier than my dad’s back seat driving advice. Anyway, I did get to catch up with some friends and see my brother’s new house…

@craigo3154 while I agree that those are valid points, I think the biggest aspect is individual. CI/CO worked for me, but intermittent fasting works for my friend and Keto works for another friend. And finding what works for you can be a process of trial and error. I don’t track my calories out too much as I know that with…

Pass day 2. Struggling with what I suspect is a stomach bug. Need to drive to Cape Town to fetch my parents so hope I’ll feel better by Wednesday.

Pass day 1 for me.

An ok day. I used some exercise calories which I don’t normally do. Morning beachfront run and a busy day at work kept me active, but I also did fit in my 10 minute yoga session which I’ve been skipping. Fairly decent food choices overall but logged it all. At least no pass required.

Welcome back Craig. You have been missed

A reasonable day. Morning run and a walk with my friend before sushi. She is going through a rough time with her kids so it was good to just be there for her. I have also logged tomorrow’s food plan and I will get the yoga done first thing before I head off to work.

Last day of the month! No matter how many pass days you had or if it was a good or bad month, let’s all aim to finish off strong (in whatever way you need to). For me, that means being aware of my food choices and getting back into the routine of daily yoga. I started with a run, but I’m giving myself the day off from…

I took a me day and didn’t log. I did internet to go to Jiu Jitsu class in the evening but as we got closer I just couldn’t deal with people so skipped it which meant no exercise but it was good to just relax and go to sleep super early. Although the break up was from my side it still was hard on my emotions so this day…

Thanks for the hugs. I’ve got a good support system in person as well, but I’m good. Busy day at work and then an afternoon on the mat with my kids helps.

I’m here again. Haven’t made much progress in the last few months but stayed at a reasonable weight. Still need to drop the last few kgs to my goal weight and I’m ready to get my routines back into place for that. Jiu Jitsu competitions are starting up again here so I have something to work towards even if I’m not…

Today was difficult but I’m glad it’s over. Morning run and work were both good but I’m the evening I had to break up with the man. I know a bunch of you followed the start of my relationship with delight so here’s the update. He is a nice guy but despite that, I’m just not in love with him after three months. I know he…

Amazing weekend even if I didn’t track. We saw loads of animals. Huge group of elephants at the water hole today, oh and yesterday had to reverse quickly because one of the Ellie’s walking down the road decided to turn into the Bush right where my car was. Lots of Buck (kudu, eland, red hartebees) and hoarders of zebra.…

Didn’t log again today and made bad choices. I know I won’t log this weekend because we are going away on Saturday. Spending a couple of days in Addo Elephant National Park with all the animals and sleeping in the tented camp in the middle of the park. Hoping to see some interesting animals at the water hole in the time…

A good day despite the fact that it was mostly in front of the computer. I rarely do this but had a huge pile of urgent admin to complete. I did fit in a visit to a friend for coffee and finished in time for Jiu Jitsu class. Logged food again after missing a couple of days and in budget. Got a couple of new apps I’m…

Good day even though I didn’t track again. Lunch with my friend and her daughter and exciting to find out she is going to become a big sister this year. Early morning Jiu Jitsu and kids class with a visiting coach. Ended off with a very interesting discussion at community group. Food choices were ok but not sure about…

A busy day and I didn’t log. Didn’t eat too badly though. Early morning training session with my friends and then evening Jiu Jitsu. A good day overall. Everyday that I’m on the mat is a good day.

Good day today. Good food choices and a good Jiu Jitsu session plus coaching kids class. Great catch up with a friend and spend some good time with coach’s son between classes as coach was busy. It was rainy weather which makes me want to get in bed but having to supervise youngling I couldn’t bail on training.
