I just tried this one too: http://www.ditchthecarbs.com/2014/06/17/grain-free-granola/ Love the toasty flavor! Would like to add some kind of sweet syrup for flavor and texture. I'm going to buy some Vitafiber syrup (from Amazon) and give that a try.

I completely understand how those reasons to lose become less acute after some success, and the work involved gets boring. It also gets harder as your weight starts to normalize. About 3 years ago was my first round with LC eating. I got half-way to my goal weight, and these feelings you described started. I was so pleased…

I just log my losses on MFP, and wait for full pound increments. But I keep a more accurate private log on a spreadsheet.

20 lbs in 5 months (my latest round of weight loss). CICO on first month. Started lowering carbs on second month to 125-150g/day. Starting 1 month ago, lowered carbs to 75-100g/day. My weight loss is starting to slow down. I guess I need to lower my carbs again...?

Just made this last night: http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/07/cinnamon-faux-st-crunch-cereal-3.html I used mix of erythritol and liquid sucralose as sweetener. The finished flavor is predominately flax & cinnamon (the hemp seed must have a more subtle flavor). Although I don't love the flavor of toasted flax, I found…

I came across this the other day, looks interesting: http://ketodietapp.com/Blog/post/2014/11/12/Ultimate-Keto-Buns This uses almond flour. I'm tempted - but my experience with making pancakes with almond flour, was that I devoured too many calories!

Fabulous recipes KnitOrMiss! I'm wondering what to do for maple syrup / honey? Perhaps Vitafiber syrup? Anyone have experience with Vitafiber syrup (used by some to make Quest Bar substitutes) ?

I tried the Halo Top, which seems to have the lowest calories & net carbs. Taste was decent, but texture was so-so. Hard to find in stores. Then tried the Breyers' no sugar added - a few more calories than the Halo Top, but WAY better flavor & creamy texture. Fits my calorie budget, and does not spike my blood glucose. Of…

Trying hard to give up my fear of fat - its not easy. Been eating more cream sauces lately - but this morning was a stretch for me. I ate a half can of Trader Joe's coconut cream, blended with strawberries & coconut flour. About 3 times a much fat as I usually eat in a meal - slurped right down. I had to work hard to…

16 lbs lost in 14 weeks, at ~100 total grams carbs/day. I've found in general that as my carbs/day goes down, the weight loss speeds up.
-
Enjoy this initial rush of success, it does slow down after a while!
-
I'm usually in the 90-120 total carb grams/day. I definitely lose weight faster when I'm below 100!

My doctor suggested that I give up wine, chocolate and coffee. My wine intake is down to about 1 glass/week, and my 85% chocolate is down to ~2 oz/month. But - I simply can't seem to give up the coffee. I guess until I do that, I can't really point my finger at other things.

No, my lower carb days are days when fat is higher and calorie intake is maintained. I do suffer from GERD, and perhaps that is aggravated by LCHF?

Great website Dragonwolf, thanks!

What, no bun substitutes? I recently made "oopsies" bread substitutes (included psyillium husk, baking soda & sesame seeds) and made a great burger bun.

cwolfman, free your mind. You're stuck in the 80s. https://youtu.be/da1vvigy5tQ

I see lots of folks use a fair amount of coconut oil. What's up with that? Is it just for sautéing, or is there something else going on here?

Our obesity crisis started when we were all told to eat low fat, and eat "healthy whole grains". Eat less grain, and get thinner.

Excellent - and inspirational! Avoid those meds!

Inspiring! I'm looking for more evidence that folks can get off their meds as a result of life-style changes. Congratulations!

I hear you. I have felt free to eat at 11pm just before bed for many years. As a result - I've steadily gained. It doesn't even have to be junk food - another small helping of dinner left-overs, or some PB&J, etc in the evening will turn a good calorie day into a bad one. And don't get fooled by the "fat-free" excuse - to…

thanks for all the great tips, suggestions, and motivation! I always just give up in situations like this, but I need to learn to handle it. Otherwise a holiday weekend like this could be a real killer!

I just took a look at your food diary over the last week or so. You're consistently not eating enough protein, and also consistently overeating on sugar by 200% - 300%. That can't be healthy! Why all the sugary snacks?

Your sucess is our inspiration!

Tip to women: Don't just listen to your man. Respond to him in a way so that he know he's been understood. Otherwise it gets lonely.

Getting words & affection like that does feel good! One thing I've noticed - Try giving to your S.O. the things you're hoping to receive. It can change things for the better.

The story of your struggle to "onederland" is inspiring. You had a few defeats - but kept at it! Often when I have a defeat, I'll give up for an extended time. I'm off to a very slow start. (Starting at 230, its been ~1 month, and don't have much to show for it yet) But I'm going to get to onederland this time!

My waist size has been slowly creeping up my entire adult life. I'm tired of buying the next larger size. As the current set of pants are getting tight - I can't bring myself to buy the next size. In fact - I'm going to take 2 inches off my waist and return to the last set of pants! I recently became a father for the first…
