I also have the Polar F6 and I absolutely love it! It is one of the best fitness investments I have ever made, next to a good pair of running shoes.

Better late than never...but I want a piece of this challenge too. Thanksgiving Day is especially meaningful for me this year because it is also my 26th brithday. I am determined to celebrate my birthday 20 lbs lighter than I am today! Current Weight: 200 lbs Thanksgiving (and Birthday) Goal Weight: 180 lbs

If you're working out after work, take your gym clothes with you to work and change before you leave the building. If I go home and sit down, I tend to get lazy and not want to go to the gym.

Hey guys! I'm trying to get some ideas of what "healthy" fast foods, other than salads, give I can eat when eating out. I have a very busy schedule (full-time job, part-time job, part-time student, and several social organizations) so cooking usually takes a back seat to my other obligations. I usually do pretty good about…

Mondays - 1 hour of weight training followed by 30 minutes of cardio on my own or 1 hour group cycle class (depends on how I feel after the weights) Tuesdays - 1 hour of cardio Wednesdays - 1 hour of weight training followed by 1 hour group cycle class Thursdays - Rest Day! Fridays - 1 hour of weight training followed by…

I have cheat meal every Saturday:bigsmile:. I started doing this last year when I was watching the Biggest Loser and Bob said that all of contestants get a cheat meal after their weekly weigh in. But, they still have to stick to their regular workout routine. He said that when you're eating healthy all of the time,…

I have a neck connecting my head to my shoulders:laugh:

I'm a big "smell" person, so the first thing I notice about a man is the way he smells...good or bad. And there is nothing worse than a man reeking of a cheap cologne. My favorite scents are: Joop Issey Miyake Unforgivable Dolce & Gabana Cool Water Burberry Jean Paul Gaultier

Oh my gosh...I'm a social worker too! And yes, it is stressful and the pay sucks and I find myself mindlessly eating during the day. I'm in school as well...but I'm pursing a degree in something as far away from social work as possible...MEDICINE!

I don't eat, but I have a protein shake before my morning workouts.

I weigh in at Weight Watchers every Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m. and update my ticker after the meeting.

here's another link for information on the Body Bugg http://www.bodybugg.com/

Same for me....but I drink my shake about an hour before my workout so it won't upset my stomach. I also have a shake within 15 minutes after my strength training workouts. I also drink plenty of water afterwards to flush all of that acid out of my system.

The Green Team looked awsome if their "after" video. I love the show, but the eliminated teams inspire me more than the teams that stay on campus because they go back to real world and are still able to have amazing weight loss results.

That happened to me when I first started working out. My trainer calls in "Lactic Acid Overload." Basically, you overwork your muscles until the point that the amount of lactic acid building up in your body wants to escape by any means necessary (i.e. throwing up). It stopped after about two weeks of working out.

Me Too! By the time I go to the gym in the evenings, I have exhausted my 1500 calories:sad: Exercise gives me the calories I need for a protein shake and dinner.
-
My nutritionist and trainer have me aiming for 150mg of protein per day. I try to get most of it in through lean meats, but I have a 35mg protein shake aftermy strength training workouts. So I guess it depends on what your body needs and what kind of workouts you engage in. I'm eating high protein and low carbs and fat…

Thank you so much for posting this information. I've only been a member for a couple of weeks, and it amazes me how often this subject has come up in such a short period of time. I am under the guidance of both a nutritionist and a personal trainer and BOTH encourage me to eat the majority of my exercise calories (I…

You're welcome. I've seen this topic posted quite a bit, so when I came across this information, felt compelled to post it.

I saw that original post! Great minds think alike:laugh:

I found this article on the Polar website and posted it in another forum, but I will post it here as well. Hope it helps some... Exercise Zones Exercise zones are ranges between the lower and upper heart rate limits expressed as beats per minute (bpm) or as percentages of your maximum heart rate (HRmax). HRmax is the…

I believe that that measure you are referring to is the VO2 rate. My personal trainer measures mine periodically, and that is input into my HRM, in addition to my height, weight, age etc.

I actually auditioned for the show a couple of years back (didn't make it:mad: ) and we were told that you are requried ot work out 6-8 hours per day.

I had that same problem and I thought I was losing my mind. I was constantly picking fights with my boyfriend for absolutely no reason. I'm taking a pharmacology class now, and I've learned that it's probably because Topamax is also used for treatment of bipolar disorder. If you don't have bipolar disorder, it kind of…

I think that I am the ONLY person on earth that didn't lose weight while taking Topamax. I'd heard so much about it before my doctor prescribed it, that I couldn't wait to take it and lose my appetite...let me tell you, that did NOT happen. I'm thinking that maybe it's because I didn't make it up to 100mg/day. My doctor…

YOU CAN DO IT! So you say you "only" lost 4oz...but you still lost. As my Weight Watchers leader would say, that two whole boxes of Jello pudding mix.

I used the Polar F6. I got it from ****'s Sporting Good, but I used an ad from Wal-mart because it was on sale for $79. I thought it was better to get it from ****'s because they offer a one (or two) year extended waranty for an additional $19.

My trainer encourages me to drink at least 1 gallon of water per day. It's kind of hard to get it all in, but I don't allow myself to drink anything but water until I have had the first 1/2 gallon for the day.
