  • People think Im nuts but I drink diet pepsi because I prefer it over regular. I also always say I dont want to "drink my calories" because it feels like such a waste. So If Im not drinking a calorie free drink, I stick with seltzer or regular water. I have friends that tell me that diet soda actually keeps you from losing…
  • Totally agree with this!
  • tishdutton - SAME here! Im not a morning person, and as much as I want to get up at 5 and go to the gym while the kids and DH are still asleep, I just haven't. I need to go in the evening, but the kids make that a challenge. Tonight Im solving that excuse by taking my 8 yr old with me to the Kids Club at the gym, and the…
  • Same boat here!! This is not my first time losing, but I am bound and determined that it will be my last. Im also an emotional eater. We can do this! Dori
  • You can do it! I have lots of stress that comes with older teenagers as well right now, we still have 5 kids living at home (8-17) and 3 that are out (18, 19, and 21). Its a crazy time, and that combined with some other factors including new aches and pains put me back on track to getting healthy. Im finding that at 37,…
  • Welcome, and wishing you the best of luck! I am also a FT working mom/wife and have about 50 lbs to lose. I know how hard it is to fit exercise in, and being too wiped out at the end of the day to do it. I work full time, and have 5 kids still living at home, age 8-17. I can tel you one thing, its great you are looking to…
  • JuzDuIt - You've done great maintaining, and I think sometimes its okay to plateau and maintain for a little bit to find that motivation to lose the rest. Good luck!
  • zombiemomjo - Thats what I'm hoping - that this new method to my madness will help me mentally to stay positive. Also, I don't want to just get "skinny" cause as I've gotten older I realize that if I only "lose" the weight I could look pretty saggy, LOL! I need to tone up for sure :)
  • Thanks! We just do what works for us. :)
  • My husband and I have 8 kids and have to be frugal, because we would rather have extra money to go do fun things with our kids as much as possible! We have one off at college and one lives with her mom, so I feed a household of 8 on about 400 a month. 5 kids eat lunch at school during the week though, and we make cold…
  • Maybe you can still let him cook for you and use major will power and portion control...what a tough situation. My husband is the same, (not a cook but very good at it) - and doesn't care if I lose even 1 more lb). Anytime we do something fun it is centered around food, and I had to take the stand that I can't do those…
  • I just found this recipe by chance while reading some blogs - http://wvfrugal-wvsaver.blogspot.com/2011/09/better-homes-and-gardens-chicken-and.html
  • In the past I have prepared my go-to spaghetti (no recipe) and used ground chicken instead of beef. It was really good. I've also made it with ground turkey. I also make a spaghetti-ish dish with chicken breasts (I first cook them in the slow cooker all day with Italian spices and then pull apart and add to the sauce.
  • I love it!! I might just do the same next time I REALLY want to go get some treat I shouldn't have! Thanks for the tip! LOL
  • Soup! Try the weight watchers 0 point soup recipe (google it) - it is really yummy!
  • Congrats on the 40 so far! I have lost 30 and have 30-40 more to go. Good luck! What are you doing to reach your goals?
  • I can see a difference, but more importantly I can feel a difference. I painted my toes and it was the first time I was able to do that with any accuracy in a long, long time! LOL I have probably lost a size or two but Im still too nervous to try on my "skinnier" clothes (I have a range of about 4 sizes in my closet..ugh).…
  • I'm in!! I'll add you as a friend. I have lost 30 lbs since June, and have about another 30 or 40 to go. Maybe I can get this done by New Years!
  • I gave up fruit and fruit juice because of the "hidden" sugar. I know I still get some in the veggies I eat but I'm okay with that. I went from drinking multiple diet sodas, tea, , and fruit juice to only water, cold turkey. I still indulge in coffee when I get into the office, but realized I am taking about 3 sips and…

  • I'm a huge planner. I always meal plan for my family but now that I'm eating differently, I plan differently for myself. Unlike most people, it really helps me to be a creature of habit. I'm okay eating a few foods over and over. Then I don't have to think about what the nutritional value is, because I already know for the…
  • Welcome! I'm in Nor Cal too..how could anyone hold that against us :)

  • Thanks Kimmie! It looks like you have really come a long way - that is awesome! I hope I can be as successful. :) Heather
  • You look great!! I have lost 30 as of yesterday and I'm still afraid to take progress photos for the fear that i won't see a difference. Maybe I will actually do it now.
