i asked this same question not too long ago regarding oranges. i had been weighing the whole orange and inputing that number. then i go thinking that i don't eat the rind, so why include that right? so i started weighing just the parts that i was actually eating and entering that number. hubby told me i was doing it wrong,…

This is, personally, what I would do for myself. I hate not adding things in just because it doesn't have a significant calorie number. To me, every calorie counts (especially when I only have 1200 in a day) I like to be as precise as possible, but then I'm just an anal person about things like that. Do what works for you.…

i also choose not to eat my exercise calories back. my calorie limit is 1200 a day. i usually do not let myself eat more than 1250 calories (occassionally i'll go up to 1275-ish). anything more than that and i feel as if i'm eating too much and sabotaging my weight loss (whether it's right or wrong, that's just my personal…

i get the jolly time 94% fat free 100 calorie kettle corn bags. you can eat a whole bag for 100 calories! they also have regular 94% fat free popcorn 100 calorie bags.

you could get Better N Butter Peanut Butter. i found it at Trader Joes. it's 100 cals for 2 tbsp instead of the usual 190 cals. it doesn't quite taste like the real thing, but it satisfies my peanut butter craving without as much guilt :) grilled cheese...not sure. just look for lower calorie bread and cheese. instead of…

i tried looking for it under cardio. i don't mind adding my own, but i have no idea the number of calories it burns. i don't have a HRM monitor either.

OMG...I am so glad that you posted this!!! I've complained to my husband and coworker (who are also doing MFP) about how hard it can be enjoying eating out now because not all places have nutritional information posted. Assuming that all of the counts on this site are accurate (or close to accurate), that'll really help me…

i made homemade chili a few weeks ago and the recipe i had said a serving was 10.8oz. but like someone else said, a serving size can be whatever you want it to be.

sometimes i will just do an average of the entries i see. or i will take the highest one and just overestimate. i'd rather overestimate than underestimate.

i have a few: special k/south beach/slim fast snack bars (90-100 cal each) 100 cal bags of microwaveable popcorn raw veggies (cucumbers/baby carrots)

i may even be more OCD than you. sometimes i will plan my WEEK out (as much as i possibly can). i put things days in advance.

i find that cooking brown rice in chicken broth instead of water makes it taste so much better!

i looked in the database...i searched for raw and cooked. both the raw and cooked has the same calories for the same amount of meat. so this still leaves me confused :(

is there a general ratio i can go by? meaning, if i cook 1 lb of ground turkey, how much will it yield after i cook it?
-
personally, i work out in the morning. if i wait until i get home to do it, i won't. after working all day, having to cook dinner, do dishes, care for my daughter, etc...i just don't have the time. plus i shower in the mornings, so i work out first then shower. that means i have to get up 1/2 hour earlier in the morning,…

hubby will be eating beer brats in hot dog buns. not sure what he'll have for sides. i'll be having a sweet italian turkey link (instead of brats) in a hot dog bun. i'll also have a side salad and some canteloupe.

my NSG is to fit into single digit sized pants. i'd also like to feel comfortable in a sleeveless/strapless dress for my sister's wedding in September (i'm the matron of honor).

i don't kill myself at my workouts. i do between 20-30 minutes each day. i vary between kickboxing videos, circuit training (jillian michaels DVD), and high impact aerobics during the week. i could do a walk with my daughter on sunday and have that be good enough for the day and just monitor my calories. i'm just new to…

yes it does feel good!!!

so if i allow myself 6oz (or whatever amount) of ground turkey at a meal, and i weigh it after it is cooked...am i calculating too little or too many calories? i've been weighing it after i cook it.

thanks for describing where to find pitas in walmart. i can never find them and never thought to look in the bakery. i will definitely be looking for them when i go shopping next. i agree, you can put so many different things onto a pita and it turns out great. you can even make "mexican pizzas". don't know the calorie…
