  • I would definately like to be a part of the challenge, but what are the rules?
  • You look amazing.
  • Thank you so much for sharing your story. As others have said it's truly inspirational.and I'm so proud of you. I do wish you had posted a full body pic for the new you. You are so beautiful. I'm glad you're my friend and can support each other in our goal to get fit. Mary
  • I'm 5'4" and 150 lbs. Right now I'm at a size 12, but many of my jeans/pants are extremely loose. I also have broad shoulders so don't know how far I can drop size wise on the top. My goal is 130's so it will be interesting to see if I can drop into a 10, which I would be very happy. My high was a size 16 at 195lbs.
  • My daughter (the bride) is the one who helped pic out my dress and was floored when I tried it on. She loved it. When she was looking for her wedding dress the salesladies told her she would know when the dress was "the one". We were skeptical, but it's true. Her dress is stunning and she's teeny tiny. Again, thank you all…
  • I find that I also turn to food for comfort. Only problem is the next day I look in the mirror and ask myself "why". I've been working so hard to get to this point and it's so not worth that one day, that one moment. Think, "this too will pass". Take it one minute at a time and remember this post to give you strength. Mary
  • Thank you all so so so much. I really wanted to lose 5 more lbs before buying my dress, but my daughter (the bride) talked me into finally go shopping. I must have tried on 20+ dresses before finding the perfect one. I started working out last May 2011 and know that's definately helped me slim down. That and MFP. Again…
  • Congratulations. 85lbs is incredible. I just posted some pics and that was only after losing 35lbs so you must look amazing. It's really exhilerating.
  • Normally popcorn at the movies doesn't bother, but my husband and I went to see "TED" yesterday and I indulged. Today I think I'm paying the price from all that salt and butter. Normally I do what everyone suggested, but my brain was still overexcited from the weight I had lost the day before and decided I had to gain it…
  • I was kind of vague when posting. Besides the Fibro I have a herniated ruptured disk in my lower back, osteopenia. I was actually diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and/Fibromyalgia and ran the 100+ fevers for years before seeing the specialist. That's why the trial of steriods. That knocked out the fevers. I also…
  • I started with a trainer last September and it has been worth it. Not only has he introduced me to exercises and equipment I never would have tried, he also guided me on the correct form and yes he pushed me to do more sets and reps. I only have two sessions left and I'm going to miss my trainer. It was a great motivator…
  • I remember when I had to go into the big girls section. I had to go to a wedding and only the size 16's fit. I know that's not a lot to some, but for me I was devastated. That's why fitting into my 12's feels so good. I'll never go back to those 16's. Congratulations!!
  • Just saw the thread. I'm in for the challenge. Starting today it's 8 glasses a day. Thanks!
  • I've been consistently losing weight, but have had a bad couple of days although I wasn't all that much over calorie wise. Yesterday I had a bowl of chili from Steak & Shake and after found out it was over 800 calories. I still didn't eat over 1400 calories yesterday, but got on the scale this morning 2lbs heavier. That…
  • You look like a different person. Amazing and inspiring!
  • Do it now. I just dp the usual. Breast, waist, abs, hips, thighs, upper arms. I did decide to add under my breast as I was looking pregnant and seemed to be losing there. I wished I'd done measurements when I started last year as I'd love to see how much I'd lost. I swear I did do some measurements, but there in the…
  • I love EAS Myoplex Chocolate Protein Shake. I buy it at Sam's. I put it in a little cooler and drink it immediately after a workout.
  • I've set my own allowed calories to 1200, but only take in about 900. I don't use my exercise calories either. I do strength training 3x's a week, plus cardio. Well it finally came back to bite me in the butt yesterday. I was on the treadmill and my legs got so weak I could barely stand. I was extremely lightheaded. I knew…
  • Penelope, It sounds like you're in this for the long haul. For me getting even a pound off is difficult. I seem to be losing again doing some interval cardio, strength training. Make sure you take your measurements. I didn't and have been at this 1 year this month. Would like to know how many inches I've really lost. My…
  • Off to meet with my trainer. Thank God as there are days I really don't want to exercise, but with this I have no choice.
  • Just go to diary and choose ADD (like you're adding food) and it is lower down on the screen. That will take you to cardio. I was also frustrated about not being able to use strength training, but this was the best I could fine. Glad to be your friend. Mary
  • Every time I ask my personal trainer that question he repeats the same thing. Cardio/diet, cardio/diet, cardio/diet. I keep thinking there should be an exercise to help, that's his input. I think crunches help and he did show me an exercise to do with a resistance band.
  • I use my heart rate monitor to count calories while doing my strength training. Under cardio is a choice that says strength training, weight lifting, etc.so I list them under that. I know what you mean by listing it as a separate choice and think workouts are so varied it's difficult.
  • I have the Polar (I think the F4). The check strap is very comfortable. Sometimes I forget I have it on and will wear it all day. It's adjustable so as you lose weight you can tighten it. I love mine.
  • I started this weight lose program weighing 185 and am now down to 157. However I spent the 1st 40 years of my life pretty much average or under weight. During my teens and 20's I was way under weight. 5'5" and 104lbs. No matter how thin I was I still felt fat. I obsessed about it and never liked how I looked in the…
  • My BMR is 2181, TDEE is 2171, RMR is 1385 & my average calories burned per day (used an online calculator) is 2065. What is BMR, TDEE and RMR? Also you stated your staying around 1200 calories, but here say you average 2065. What is your actual average calories. I use MFP to track my calories and exercise. I stick to…
  • Why are we slaves to are scales? I am and feel like such a failure if I gain a pound, but such a success for losing one. Mary
  • I didn't see your post, but just posted my "Mother's Day Binge". I pigged out on cake and am now worried I undid all the really hard work I've put into my diet. By diet I mean eating staying on 1200 healthy calories and working out about everyday. I hope that one day didn't set me back as I'm getting so close to my goal.…
  • Congrats on 1lb to go. I'm inspired. You must be doing something really right. Mary
