  • I am making my shopping list right now! :flowerforyou:
  • Lol I actually have some bacon bits that were part of a spice blend set that I purchased on the road at a fair and when I read the label they are made of tvp and they aren't even real bacon. Even though they are called bacon!
  • This is a good idea, too! I could use the salsa from the previous post even! I like the idea of sour cream and my husband likes to use sour cream in his tuna salad and we have some cans of tuna on hand so we could use up a lot of a small thing of sour cream pretty easily. So many good ideas!
  • This is good since I could serve it over greens as a salad, with chips, or mixed into beans. So many options! Thanks! I even already have the tomatoes, onion and hot sauce on hand and I'm trying to use up what's on hand to be both frugal and so we don't have to haul extra items all over tarnation as we travel.
  • I haven't seen dark chickpeas but I'm gonna look for them! I actually had something similar a couple of days ago with regular chickpeas and cucumber too. Quick and easy and refreshing and healthy! Who could ask for more? Now I need to find some dark chickpeas ...
  • Well sir you are in a pickle now then!
  • I love jicama but am confused: are they just raw chopped into fry shapes?
  • I might try the falafel recipe, although I will admit that mashing beans with a plastic fork is tough but I did it last night and it seemed to work out ok ... eventually  (one chickpea at a time lol)
  • Thanks maybe I will try this though I only have a few of the spices. Really it looks pretty easy, Thanks!
  • I'm having a hard time finding simple raw vegan recipes ... I have so few ingredients on hand I don't want to go buy a lot of extra ingredients and then have to travel with them. I have found googling "no cook recipes" works the best but I was hoping for some tried and true recommendations. I don't even have a strainer…
  • I need this thread
  • Thanks gently! The thread has lots of good ideas! And couscous would work, too, just add dried fruits and nuts and some seasonings or some fresh veggies! I hadn't thought of that idea
  • Last month I went to visit my parents and I made them watch it so I could watch it again!
  • Lost, Weeds, Arrested Development have all been mentioned but I loved them too. I watch a lot of old series, but they are awesome. Quantum Leap for starters.
  • Firefly for sure! I just watched Downton Abbey and my husband and I both loved it!
  • I like the almond breeze, maybe can can try the vanilla flavor? I also like rice milk. Honestly though it is just a matter of personal preference and you gotta try them all to see what you like. Plus none of them taste like cow so you have to get used to that, too. These days I much prefer the almond milk to cow milk but…
  • Congrats, sir, burpees are dang hard! I do them sometimes in my monthly workout rotation, the worst workout is the 50 burpee day, Even with girlie knee pushups they are so hard they always leave me sore from the jump at the end. When I do them they are definitely a cardio exercise! Keep up the burpees!
  • I'm in Louisville right now! I leave tomorrow I don't know if I'll be able to go get this but dam it is over the top!
  • I have had a Fitbit for more than 2 months and I love it! I have the Fitbit One and have never had any problems with losing it, it comes with a holder than clips which I put on my bra. I seriously love it and cannot say enough good things about it!
  • Do it! I was riding my bike about 7 miles each way a few times a week when I lived in the east bay. There were shower facilities but I didn't use them. Really, unless it is super hot out I don't think you'd sweat so much you had to shower when you got there.
  • I did until I was recently laid off!
  • I'm following too!
  • I wish I had some cause I am super sore today! :drinker:
  • I ordered one last night for dinner: grilled portobello and goat cheese sandwich :flowerforyou:
  • When I quit smoking weed I gained like 40 pounds, I guess you just have to make your choices. I didn't get the munchies so much I guess but I think the biggest thing for me was that when I stopped smoking I started drinking more (but did not eat less). Make sure you have healthy, lower calorie snacks and lots of fruits and…

  • I cut in half, remove seeds, then microwave each half cut side down on a plate maybe 5 minutes. Then scrape the flesh out with a fork and saute in a little oil or butter (I use earth balance) for 5-10 more minutes. Then season with salt and pepper and top with romano or parmesan cheese and toasted pine nuts and serve. It's…
  • OMG I nearly fell on the floor laughing at the video!
  • Thanks for all the great suggestions!!!
  • I like the dedicated cupboard idea. Also why don't you volunteer to start cooking for the family one night a week so you can practice healthy cooking while also introducing them to some healthier foods?
