I agree with many of the above. Veggie isn't automatically more healthy. Cheese, cream, chocolate, chips - They are all vegetarian. Indeed if you are trying to make lifestyle changes, you want to make them small and gradual as that is far easier to stick to long term. Drop portion sizes a bit, avoid cheese on things, have…

Well I really don't have the time for the likes of P90x, I want to get fit but having some kind of life is more important! At least an hour a day, 7 days a week, is not practical for me. Thanks for the replies but I need something a bit less demanding of my time. I want to be as efficient as possible when I am at the gym…

Like most, I still see the worst but I have noticed that my biceps and triceps are starting to show definition, a couple of shirts are too tight around the upper arm now and I've had a few nice comments from people asking me if I've lost weight. I am also far fitter than I've been in at least 10 years. I play badminton for…

Wow, you look hot. As someone above said, your face looks really different, much younger

I realise you've come here for advice but the simple fact is, we don't know what he is doing/thinking. You are gonna have to just have a chat with him. Make sure you don't unload all your feelings in a big hit cos that is likely to make him a bit defensive just say something "Look, I am a little worried because things have…

PSN: JackDusty I am looking for people like myself, late-20's, early 30's gamers in the UK (not xenophobic it just works better for available times!) to play some co-op and team games like Borderlands 2 etc I don't get a lot of time to play but I like an hour or so in the evenings and weekend sessions
-
That's really useful advice, I wish I had your insight/book of pointless clichés

It used to be advised that you eat breakfast when you get up as it kick started the metabolism BUT that advice was from the same era that suggested you should eat regularly throughout the day to keep the metabolism 'ticking over'. This has now been shown to be false so I suspect the same is true of breakfast. That said, I…

The simplest way is, frankly, to look at your urine (I admit this is notably easier for a man). The closer to clear, the better your hydration level. If it's dark yellow, you need more water.
-
This topic comes round frequently as the 8 glasses thing is an old myth that came from a misquoted medical report. We need about 8 glasses of water a day BUT most of that comes from food anyway. Tea is mostly water so it's great. Caffeine's diuretic effect is negligible in coffee and tea and even Coke. The tannins does…

Day two of this then and I'm enjoying the ride but not so much the effort getting changed and showered etc at the end. I'm thinking about only cycling two days a week though, the days I don't go to badminton or the gym straight from work. I have to carry too much gear if I do those and changing out of cycling stuff, into…

I want a way to calculate the calories roughly just to make sure I don't under-eat on the days I do weights. Should I go with my HRM estimate, the one on here or something else.
-
An HRM, if set with your weight and height etc is pretty accurate. I was really shocked just how different the numbers are compared to the estimates on here. Well worth getting one if you can. It is also interesting to see how high your heart rate goes and will help you avoid overdoing it. You can also see the improvement…
-
Thanks all. I'll see how I get on with the cycling then. Starting the first week we are predicted snow is gonna be interesting!
-
I see, that does make a lot of sense, thanks. I've never been a fan of cardio but I know it's good for the heart and respiratory system so I look for ways to mix it up. I do 2 hours of badminton a week as well so with that and the cycle commute I can keep the gym for just weights.
-
Really? How so? My main goal is to get my body fat % down under 19% (currently 29). I thought cardio was important for burning fat.
-
Sorry if this is repeating anyone (only skimmed the thread) but two points: 1) How you look is only a part of losing weight. The benefits to your health are far more significant 2) Try Bio Oil. I used it every day for 6 months on a scar on my hand and the improvement was very noticeable. I have started using it on a few…

Also thinking Ryu from Street Fighter as I already have a Gi from some ill fated Jitsu I tried a few years ago,
-
I am thinking Arthur Dent. I can get some good traditional PJ bottoms and have a robe that will work nicely. Might need to make The Guide thought, to really add some detail. Thoughts?

YES! Beautiful eyes

The top pictures are notable for the changes. Well done The only thing I'd say about the new diet is that it does sound a little unsustainable so I'd worry about the long term value of it. Also 4 days is way too short a time to really rely on the results, too many other factors could come in to play. If you have enough…

I know what you mean. You do need to be careful that they don't just have body issues but as you say, sometimes you can tell they are just fishing for compliments. Easiest way is to ignore them. If they say it as a comment rather than a question (which is the usual trick) then just stay silent. It can be very powerful and…

Definitely BUY. I wear one and it turned me into a unicorn-riding cybernetic dragon-ninja

I have only lost 8lbs in over a year but I've put on quite a bit of muscle. I barely notice but lots of people who don't see me very often have said I look like I've lost weight. The difference is gradual so you don't notice it much yourself, plus we do tend to focus on what needs doing, not what we've done!
-
F**k that. It's based on BMI which is a total crock unless you have practically no muscle!
-
Ummm, I did decide, and did it. Scroll up :)
-
Thanks. I have heard that you should look at your maternal grandfather as the guide for your potential hair pattern. That is where the genes most commonly come from or something.
-
I DID IT! Here I am just before: And here it is now!:
-
Surely the salient point here is encouraging sustainable healthy living. Banning everything that is unhealthy makes for a miserable life or a diet doomed to failure. It's all about moderation and in that vein, I like a drink so I'll have a drink. I will limit how much and how often and I'll have diet mixers and that way I…

"Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior manifested by the use of force or coercion to affect others, particularly when the behavior is habitual" so I think you are straining the definition a good deal. Also, the OP them self has told you they weren't directing this at anybody when they posted it. If I make that joke…
