I was under the understanding that you couldn't take a beta blocker and phentermine?! Pretty sure that's not possible...I know my cardiologist wouldn't approve!! Just restrict your calories and exercise!! It will happen...A lot of the time we are just fooling ourselves and not being honest about what we are eating. You can…

Good Morning, Janna!! I'd love to add you as a friend! My currently situation sounds just like yours.... I hit 196lbs about 2 1/2 yrs ago...got down to around 152lbs...and then I just kind of fell off the wagon again. I weighed in at 170lbs this morning and that's the highest I've been in almost 2 yrs... I am so upset with…

I do some sort of cardio... everyday! I also lift...but I do it in cycles... usually upper body, lower body, abs/core, and on the weekends I will work whatever I feel like I need to concentrate on the most. But I never skip cardio!! Usually my routine is 5 mins stretching, 30 mins cardio, 30-45 lifting, and…

C4 works pretty good for me. I developed an irregular heartbeat after attempting to take a Super HD and a preworkout called Stimul8 (back in February)... My cardiologist would love to see me use something without caffeine, but since I am doing ok...he's come around. Although I have used No-Explode... it wasn't my fav... it…

I can completely relate. My biggest vice has always been drinking! And I can finally say that I feel comfortable with my decision to give it up. I have been alcohol free since Aug 1st....and yes I realize this isn't a long time; but the longest I have gone without a drink in the last 9 yrs ... was 3 days....tops! ***Except…

I have to agree with this person... until you mentally decide to stay on track...you're not going to achieve your goals! Diet is the most important part...every time I try to go off and stop counting calories, drink alcohol, or snack ...it catches up to me. But if I stay strong mentally and stay on my diet and exercise…

When I started... I focused mainly on my diet. Which is 75% of your entire journey. And then I walked... walked longer and faster each time. It is completely possible to do bodyweight exercises and tone up. I would do some research on those if you are not planning on using a gym. :) Best of luck!!

Do what you can...with what you have... it's life... You can't put it on hold! Just do your very best and when you get back...hit it hard!

Destiny's Child!!! OMG!!! Been my go to for almost a year! I started with Lady Gaga.... I love LIVE too... so I switch between them... sometimes I will add a little JT to my mix... I have a playlist on youtube that my daughter set up for me... and if I need that last 4-5 min push... It's Eminem's "Without me"... YES!!! Is…

OMG! I am holding back the tears here at my desk.... I am so inspired by your story!! Sometimes you just have to make a decision and stick to it; and the way that your husband and mother both got on board with you... AMAZING!!! Congratulations on all your success... I have no doubt you'll stick with it and I can't wait to…

simply amazing and inspiring!!! :flowerforyou:

Maybe instead of going balls to the wall... you should start slowly... set up your calories to be reasonable... 1200 calories is almost never reasonable. I would focus on setting your goals small... achieve one and move to a bigger one. When I started I focused just on my diet... then added 30 mins of exercise daily...…

Welcome back!!! It's life... we have ups and downs... you're back, tho! Time to get serious; log everything... try to under count your estimated workout calories (if you don't have a HRM) and over calculate your food calories if you're ever unsure... Make yourself accountable! Only you can make those minute to minute…

To each his own... we all have days like this... at least you're willing to admit that you're human... .......next topic?

Love my kiddos to death; but being the mother of 3 teenage girls... I find that I feel the need to protect them. So I very very rarely use them in my profile pictures and I won't post them as the only person in my profile picture... because clearly they aren't me. And honestly they might get embarrassed; and I am sooooooo…

I lost all of my volume in that area... it just makes me so sad... but at the same time... I guess I just figure that's life! It's gotta come off of somewhere... :( sadly it's never where you want it to come off of!!

My 16 yr old daughter named the van she inherited: Marcus... *I have no idea why...she's kind of indie like that...but she says it looks like a Marcus! lol I have a Chevy Spark... it's Sparky! (and often referred to as Zippy!) And for some reason my oldest daughter likes to call it Sasha! lol! Kids!

I have a desk job and we have an ice maker ... so it's a treat just to walk down to the ice maker and get a glass of water. I usually take in 10-12 glasses of water while I am at work. And I always start my day with a glass of water and usually 2 bottles full at the gym... I just decided to stop drinking sodas and that's…

If I was in your position I would probably go to iffym.com and look up my BMR and my TDEE and go from there... because at 120lbs... and 5'3"... that's ideal to most people. If you want to "drop 5lbs"... I would look into just incorporating more weight training to your schedule. Because ultimately at 120lbs... the real…

I thought this same thing yesterday! I've started to add protein supplements to my diet ...but even after I had my bypass in 2005... I was told to get at least 50 grams of protein a day. And now I am shooting for at least 75-90 grams...which is clearly less than they gave me on iffym.com... Idk...I just don't see how I am…

It finally hit me when I went to get out of bed and I just rolled...and my stomach was rolling before my actual body was...it was so depressing. I had been lucky enough to have a gastric bypass in 2005 and I lost down to 155-160.... and at that point I thought I was tiny. Because I started at 280lbs. But I woke up that…

Very inspiring!! I know exactly what you've been through... I think it's time I finally buckle down and lose my last 20lbs!!

I have this problem all the time!! When I started lifting I kind of got discouraged because I only lost 10lbs... but I also went from wearing a size 10 to a 6!!! And friends still like to say things every now and again...but that's ok... I never listen to them anyway... I did this for me; not them. It's truly amazing how…

^^ Take this advice... it's the only way to go!

yep... my thoughts exactly! What am I missing?

There are some really great replies on this topic! I started with the machines; which I think are a great way to start when you have absolutely no clue what you're doing! But I also picked up a copy of the "New rules of Lifting for Women" and I think their program is awesome. But sometimes you just have to start slow; not…
