I started C25K in early July. I was over 330 pounds -- way more than 100 pounds overweight. It was tough at first, but I stuck with it and built up my endurance. I just had to learn to slow down and not stop when it hurt a little. I learned that getting a gait analysis and a fitting for good running shoes is essential. I'm…

I am slowly building up my mileage with the hope of running the 2013 Disney Marathon, but my current goal is the Livestrong Austin half-marathon in February.

My body hated me during the first month of exercise. Ice, Advil, and elevation were my good friends. But if you stick with it, the pain goes away. In early July, I would be in terrible pain after a 1 hour walk. Now I can run an hour and feel fine afterwards, and I ran 8 miles on Saturday and the soreness lasted less than…

C25K worked for me. When I started, I couldn't run a half mile. I not only finished the program, but now run 3-4 miles easily, and run 8 miles last Saturday. For me, it was just learning to slow down, and to learn that most pain goes away if you don't quit.

Been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds over the last 2 weeks. Kicking it into high gear this morning to break out of the plateau. Ran 8 miles today. Plan to bike 20 miles tomorrow.

I am hooked. I am already looking for my next tri. Thanks for the words of support.

I think Fage with honey is the best. I'm not as crazy about the Fage fruit yogurts, but I could eat Fage with honey with every meal.

Thanks for the advice. Just to be clear, my goal is to have about 1,900 net calories per day, which is what myfitnesspal.com says I should eat if I want to lose 2 pounds a week. I'm not purposefully trying to go below that, although sometimes I end up eating fewer NET calories on days when I have huge workouts, burning…

I signed up for the Austin half-marathon on February 19.

I started with C25K, which is awesome, and then moved to Runkeeper when I had progressed beyond the C25K program.

I weigh every day. My weight is constantly fluctuating, by as much as 4 pounds on a daily basis. I worry that if I only weighed once a week, it would be on the day that my water weight was up.

Iron Maiden. Awesome music. Interesting lyrics. Still going strong after over 30 years. And great for running.

My feet and knees were killing me during the first couple of weeks of C25K. I thought I might have a knee injury, or that I might need better shoes. After 3-4 weeks, the pain stopped. After finishing C25K, I can now easily run 3 miles, and even did 5 miles yesterday. Keep it up. It will get better.

I loved them enough to gain 110 pounds. I just don't have the willpower to go to one.

No problems at all. In fact, my wife is happy about the weight I've lost thus far. That being said, I don't flirt on MFP, and I imagine that my wife would not appreciate it if I did.

33 pounds since June 21.

You're not pretty, but I'm not picky.

This site is very motivating. Two months ago I was a totally out of shape couch potato. I had no energy, and always felt bad. Today I ran my first 5K, and I've lost 25 pounds. I have a long way to go, but with my daily check-ins with MFP I have no doubt that I can stay motivated and get back into great shape.
-
I hadn't realized it before I read your post, but the same thing has happened to me. I used to have huge cravings late at night, which I met with really, really unhealthy food. Since I started MFP, I just don't get cravings after posting that I'm done for the day.

Just walked 5 miles this morning. I definitely going to hit 10 pounds lost by Friday!

I'm trying to lose 111 pounds. I'm down 16 so far, but I have a long, long way to go. This site really helps keep me motivated, and it makes food and exercise tracking easy. The "way to gos" from others on this site really help, especially when I'm battling temptation.

Almonds and other nuts are full of healthy fats. One serving is a little over 200 calories.

Just finished W1D3. I have no more leg pain! I guess it was just the muscles getting used to running again. Week 2 starts on Saturday.
-
Thanks for sharing you tips for those of us trying to take the same journey.

I just did W1D2 this morning. My legs were really stiff and sore yesterday and this morning, but actually feel much better after this morning's workout. Have you done day two yet?
