Well I gotta say...I had the same problem for years! Lost the weight and now I only get a swollen foot if I go way over on sodium and am stuck on an airplane. Doctors usually know what they are talking about. Who knew? Lol

Paris ...CDG only because the pics were proof to my kids that I do indeed know what it's like to be a hamster in a Habitrail....but horrible otherwise. they did lose my bag so im still mad. Lol Otherwise....Minneapolis because it means I'm home!

What is your loss set at? If its set at 1.5 a week...two pounds in three weeks is still almost half that....and that one Saturday...going over by 2000 calories negates a half pound loss right there. I would say to try to check your intake more accurately....a few hundred missed calories here and there really add up. For…

Which works out to over half a pound a week...ugh. So not fun.

SIMPLE VERSION: I did something similar because I love playing with Excel just too much. And I had time...lol Tracked daily for 6 months...calories in and weight. Used food scales and everything to be super accurate. I multiplied pounds lost by 3500 and added that to total calories in. Divided that number by how many days…

Im in Hammond....about a half hour from St Paul MN.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It does help those of us who struggle to lose even with religious tracking and weighing to realize that just because a calculator says we should burn X amount of calories, we may not be. I have been tracking for a year now and I know for a fact that I burn less calories to survive than…

Set it at sedentary and enter the walks as cardio each day. I am 195 and I am having trouble losing at 1500 calories with daily exercise.

Perspective right there!

I don't call it my workout. I call it fun with my kids...or friends...and do my real workout alone or with my dad who walks fast. Just don't count it as your workout. It's time with your mom that she apparently needs. :)

I saw this last year around New Years and it really motivated me...you get a snapshot of how even 1 pound a week is life changing when you put it all together. It made me 'ok' wit slower loss...funny to think now how I truly didn't believe I would ever get this far! If I lose 1 pound a week.... By Valentine's Day, I'd be 7…

I was the same way at first...weeks with a big loss and weeks with no loss or small gains. However over the past year, I averaged a pound a week. I have my MFP set at 1.5 pounds a week now but for the first 6 months it was set at a 2 pound loss. I never went over on a weekly basis except for one week. And I weigh and…

I agree with whoever said not to bring the salad unless you have always brought something before. It's so annoying to people who are not trying to lose weight to have it brought up with the subtle suggestion that their food is 'bad'. Really the biggest problem in this country is portion sizes. Ok maybe not the…

Thank you for the confirmation that I do not want to go on a cruise. We just got back from two weeks in Paris and Italy and ate everything we wanted but both lost a couple pounds from all the walking!

Completely agree!

Pretty sure this isn't going to help... I have lost 3/4 of my goal and I feel fatter than I ever did before. I know I am smaller, and people tell me I look great...but the last 27 pounds bother me so much more than the whole hundred ever did. It's a weird feeling. Hopefully I will be able to adjust my thinking. I used to…

I get up around 7:30-8 and I always eat breakfast. At noon. That's of course how I lost 73 pounds.

It would weigh about 6 pounds.

I hate when I see people thinking a few pound gain a week after a workout is from muscle gain. Lol Yeah...you would have to convert literally 2 GALLONS of your fat into muscle to see just over two pounds difference in body weight. That means LOSING 15 pounds of fat and BUILDING 17.6 pounds of muscle. A gallon of fat weighs…

I have tons of extra skin. I drink tons of water...use tons of moisturizer, lost weight slowly, blah blah blah...still rolls of hanging skin. The best I can do is completely deflate it so the only place it can go is in. Lol

I'm 5'8.5".... Had 100 pounds to lose when I started a year ago...now just 27 pounds to go! I exercise at least every other day...usually 5 times a week...but mostly just walking. I try to walk a minimum of 15 miles a week. I biked some over the summer. I generally eat less than 1500 calories a day, but I have MFP set at…

I love this! I did see pics before but I am so glad you posted an update...you are amazing and gave me the boost I needed today to keep at it!! You're super cute too!!

Wow...this was like reading my own thoughts! I completely understand where you are coming from. For quite a few years I was almost 130 pounds heavier...I lost 100 of it with surgery but then regained 50+... And just this past year I figured out how to be healthy and lost over 70...anyway, I have a lot of loose skin,…

People who are extremely overweight have enough fat reserves to remain nourished on less than 1200 calories per day.

Best garlic shrimp I have EVER had was at a restaurant (Snook Inn) on Marco Island in Florida...I am tempted to fly the 4 hours just to have that again. :) Here in Wisconsin...no chance of really good seafood...lol!

And to the original poster... Yep...cried when I lost 50 whole pounds. I was so proud that I made it halfway!!

This is funny because just the other day I was saying how every time I would try a new anti-depressant, or up my dose...my doctor would give me a speech on how daily walks can help with depression...etc...I always thought it was a line of crap. Seriously, 12 years of this cycle...and then a year ago, I started walking.…

These kid ones got me thinking of a favorite NSV from a month or so ago... I was digging in the fridge and my 17 year old son walked in and started talking...and I closed the fridge and turned toward him, and he says "Whoah!....I thought you were Haley...you got skinny!" Haha...Haley is his sister who is the same height as…

Yay!! Congratulations! And a side note...I moved my ring to my middle finger where it stayed snugly till I lost 65 pounds...just had it resized last week. :)
