Thank you for all these ideas! I will definitely do them! I am hoping he plans to measure me. I need to know my starting point!

Good thought! Yes, I definitely have my own goals in mind beyond just working out with a trainer. I want to start lifting more but don't know proper form or even what the best exercises are for what I want to achieve. I have minimum of fifty pounds to lose from three pregnancies of weight I never got back off. I had my…

Thanks for the input. I agree that I'm doing this for the consistency and I was never consistent before with which calorie burn I used (treadmill or MFP calculations). I'm just going to go with the ones on my HRM and then not eat back the calories. I usually try to underestimate my calories burned and only give myself…

I just posted basically this same question earlier today. I feel like I've not been consistent with my workouts on my non-running days and i feel like I need to add some strength training on my running days. I'm downloading the Nike Training Club app right now!

My husband and I just started Insanity today. We did the fit test. Would love to be part of the group. My husband will be creating an account as well.

OK, I did week 6 day 2 today but I did it on the treadmill. I just couldn't bring myself to run on the track and struggle through another run this week. I did do it with a pretty good incline (varied between 0.5-2%) and changed my speeds up. I did an extra 10 minutes at the end walking at a 7% incline because I wanted to…

I'm waiting on my mom to get here to watch my kids so I can go do Week 6 day 2. I'm dreading it, not going to lie. I've come to not enjoy the running as much anymore like I was when I was doing it on the treadmill, which is disappointing. I really wanted to enjoy running but running on the track for me is painful and takes…

Thanks Carolemack and hbarstein! I needed some encouragement. It's probably a good idea to do that 20 minute run a few more times outside or do week 5 completely over again, but outside or even on the track inside my gym. The reason I use my gym a lot is because I can leave my girls in their kids club but if I run in my…

I just completed week 5 day 3 today and it about killed me! It was the first 20 minute run without a break to walk and instead of doing it on the treadmill like I normally do, I ran around my neighborhood. OMG...it's SO MUCH HARDER than running on a treadmill!! I have got to start running on real ground if I'm going to…

I like to mix up my lunches with Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones (the weight watchers meals). I didn't realize they were considered "unhealthy". I do watch my sodium and stay within my macros but I eat one of these every day for lunch. It's so much easier to take that then try to make my lunch everyday and get the kids out the…

I started week 5 today and was shocked that after taking almost an entire week off from running (due to starting work and going on a work-retreat) I did better today than I have on any of my runs! Today was run 5 mins, walk 3 mins, run 5 mins, walk 3 mins, run 5 mins. I didn't think I would be able to make it but I did! I…

I don't have a "success story" per se since I never did it consistently enough to see results but I do love the workouts, they are so much fun and I always feel like I've had a killer workout afterwards. I totally think you would love it. Plus, there are several workouts so you don't have to do the same one every time. I'm…

I guess I thought that you had to do one or the other. I didn't realize you could do a hybrid. Does P90X require you to work out 7 days a week? I like the idea of mixing the two though. I love Turbo Jam so I know I would love Turbofire but I want my hubby to join me so maybe he would do it with me on the days I did P90X…

I finished week 4 today! I went slower than I usually do because last night I did my first workout of New Rules of Lifting for Women and my legs felt like jello. In fact, during my run, my left leg almost buckled a couple of times! Glad I didn't fall off the treadmill. I'm seeing that a lot of you guys have tried running…

Thanks! I'll give that a try. I might just have to do several "balancing" reps to get the hang of that part.

I didn't know about the group! Can someone post a link for it? I have a 1 and 3 year old I'm chasing around right now so I can't sit at the computer much until later today when they are sleeping. Sounds awesome though. I would love to be part of a group doing the same thing as me. As for weight loss, I have gotten really…

I'm on Week 4 Day 2 (I did day 2 last night) and i'm really loving it! I felt really good when I did day 1 this week but for some reason last night, I felt like I was going to die by the end. I am about to sign of for a 5K in September which would end up being the week after I finish Week 9 on the program. I really need to…

I was already starting week three when this group started and I'm thinking I need to redo week 3. I felt that way on all three runs this week. I just don't see myself being able to go onto week 4 yet. I think it's totally ok to redo weeks. I know a lot of people that wouldn't be able to go on to the next week after only 3…

I'm technically 5'10 but this thread has really helped me be encouraged about my size and height. Highest Weight: 214 (in November 2011) SW on MFP: 208 (in February) CW: 196 GW: 160 I feel like going for anything under 160 will be ridiculously hard for me to maintain. I have a medium/large build and if I can get toned and…

I think I believed it because so many people I know who have lost weight said that this was their "big secret". That's funny about the fan thing in Korea. Sounds like Brazilians who think swimming after you eat will kill you or cause you to drown and that you cannot drink cold beverages after working out or being hot…

Not working out was not an alternative for me. I was going to work out later and eat earlier. But now I'm not worried about it. Apparently I'm doofus. ;)

Thanks for all the quick responses! I feel much better! I've read in some health articles (probably fitness magazines) and also from friends who work out and have successfully lost weight, that you shouldn't eat after dinner (felt like it was implied that it's around 7pm-ish) so your body isn't adding calories to burn…

BridgetJones - I'm the same way! I don't like really loud, hard music, even when I'm working out. I have some worship music I listen to occasionally too. I just love the upbeat violin music of Bond. It really gets me going! I bought a CD today at Lifeway Christian Book Store called Positively Hymns by various popular…

I also meant to say in my post that I'm very tall (5'10") so my steps are longer and I can "walk" at a faster pace. I've seen girls that are quite a bit shorter than me who are able to jog at speeds I can walk so me jogging at a 5 is actually pretty slow for someone my height. I didn't want it to sound like I'm tooting my…

I'm doing mine on a treadmill. There is no way I could get out and run in the Texas heat right now, I think I would pass out from heat stroke. I walk at a 3-3.3mph and put it anywhere from a 5%-7% incline. I try to vary it throughout the "run". I run at a 5mph and 1% incline. I didn't start this way. I'm on week three now…

Hi, my name is Stephanie, I'm 31 (turning 32 in October...yikes!) and have two kids. I'm actually already on week 3. I've been wanting to find an accountability group for the C25K running program since I don't have anyone to go with me to the gym. I'm loving it so far and week 3 is kicking my butt! My goal is to lose…

I'm starting week 3 tomorrow. I would like to be part of the group. :)
