  • You are halfway to a new pant size!!! Keep up the great work! Those are fun words...I wish you have many more moments like that!
  • Thank you! Wow, I can't "weight" (hahaha) til I'm at my goal. You will do it in just a few weeks!!! Thank you for the motivational words!!!
  • That is an incredible transformation. How long did it take you to shed the full 166 lbs?
  • THANK you!!! I just hit my first mini- goal of 14 lbs!!!
  • Just weighed in today...down 4 lbs (total 14 lbs = reached my first mini goal -> A 14 lb box of cat litter!!!
  • As I mentioned...these are the fools that will be ooooogling over you when you are strutting your new body! They are lonely souls who probably get dumped and take it out on people.
  • Awww...I send you a kleenex with aloe and gently wipe the tears away. You and your inner athletic should know THAT WILL BE THE SAME GUY WHO WHISTLES AT YOU IN A FEW MONTHS!!! ((laughing!)) I'm glad you posted that experience here. Bravo for getting through that experience and growing stronger from it!!! Keep running and…
  • 100 cheeseburgers... If you had 100 cheeseburgers stacked straight it would be taller than you if they were FULL size burgers! a bag of potatoes...Maybe a potato belt as a new fad???? LOL! 12 lbs of lard... Yes, maybe a day spa can have the new "Lard spread" rather than laying in mud??? (That made ME cringe just thinking…
  • How much do the kids weigh? Those are ideas - 16oz steak, 1 lb of butter...it really makes me visualize the weight. I like the idea of running with the weights...that must have been tiring!!!
  • I started a "Dear Inner Athlete" Journal...always giving kind words to the older heavier me for working so hard to merge with the inner athlete. Just one or two little changes go in the journal when the mood strikes. You can get a beautiful notebook for only a couple dollars and it's amazing what taking a few minutes to…
  • Make sure to approach the trainer/teacher and ask to be shown the "Low Impact" version of each exercise as you start. That way you can work up as your body adjusts. The trick to that is to use your reflection in the mirror as your "boxing partner". Inches will shed quickly with kickboxing. Great choice!!
  • When people give you compliments, what they're really saying is that they are understanding how hard it was for you to get to the physical change. Sounds like the old you is having a fit that the inner athlete is starting to get attention. :) Maybe a major haircut or new outfit can help match the physical drastic change.…
  • MyFitnessPal has inspired, empowered, and motivated me to hold myself more accountable. This incredible community has become a place I look forward to visiting over the last eight weeks! I've shared and been there for others during some real struggles, triumphs, and moments over the last two months since starting on MFP…
  • If the pounds are getting you bummed...take measurements down your entire body. You WILL see inches lost and then the scale won't be as much of a frustration. I started in and about the same week as you and I'm down about 10 lbs and 10.75". My inches are more exciting to me because the weight goes up with workout, water,…
  • You earned the pool side stares! Way to go!!!
  • I just had that happen in the gym..."You're doing great...I want you to meet someone who lost 40 lbs using XYZ Body blah blah blah." I simply said, "Thank you for thinking of me with that, but I am choosing to do it naturally." Be kind to these people, they are just trying to help and see you are making the effort. The…
  • Great question! Thank you for posing it because it made me think hard. Losing 100+ pounds cannot be the focus, at least personally. I am striving for the 2 lbs a week, knowing that this is a long term goal which will have plateaus, frustrations, moments of sheer excitement, and most of all, finding myself athletic self…
  • In a week or less you will be in the 160's...and I can't wait to hear the great news!!!!
  • Sounds like you are trying to keep up with the class. Ask the instructor for a "low level" of each exercise and then as that gets easier, you can push yourself. I had this happen with Kickboxing. I did it years ago and then when I went back last month, had to ask the teacher for the low impact version. I still got an…
  • That is a powerful accomplishment! Great work!!!!
  • Your body is adjusting. Be proud that you have not gained and then examine how often you are eating. Maybe break the meals into smaller portions and start eating earlier? Stop eating about 3-4 hours before bedtime.
  • I'm glad it finally worked! LOL!!!
  • Thank you so much. I have my measurements in the system and will be excited to see the changes in about two weeks. The first numbers were from the middle of March but I just put them in at the beginning of May. Please keep your fingers crossed!!! :)
  • Hill242, I'm still learning how to "quote" so please bear with me! :) Thank you. I feel like I'm holding myself more accountable with choices now that I'm part of MFP.
  • Good for you! I think you are well on track to reaching your goal with that attitude. [/quote]
  • Thank you for the postings!!! I said NO" to "free cake" TWICE yesterday!!! The second time was harder but I did it. Some days it's hard but I want this to work.
  • This is to your inner self.... WAY TO GO, GIRL!!!! :)
  • Thank you so much! I've really been using the mindset that with every choice there is another gift. I mean that if I don't drink that 20oz soda, I can eat another 240 calories. My trainer has me eating 5x a day, 400 calories. I feel like I'm constantly eating!!! (((I'm laughing))). I'm really proud of myself for the small…
