I walked around for about 5 minutes with my skirt tucked into my underwear yesterday.

I am 5' 3" started MFP @ 201 lbs joined June 2011 I am now 136 I am happy to stay at this weight and maintain my muscle. I would love to get rid of a little more flab, but I can't imagine being any smaller. 122 was my first goal (midpoint of my BMI) but I changed it to 130 because I strength train and 122 didn't seem…

A friend of mine worked with him and invited him to go out with us one night. That was 17 years ago. :) Making our relationship work is our biggest accomplishment. I hasn't been easy, but I am so happy we stuck together.

Sounds AWESOME!

I DID IT! Not in a "good" time, but in just under 3 hours. Thanks to evereyone here that gave me tips and encouraged me.

Orlando here. :)

Awesome time! A few gym people got together at the park and ran about 4 miles with stations set up every 100 yards or so. It was a nice workout. My time has been HORRIBLE lately! 15 minute miles?!? My body is rejecting me. My half is Saturday, they might be sweeping the street behind my heels, but I WILL MAKE IT!

Mirena has not hindered my weight loss, but I get my TOM 3 times a month sometimes then not at all for a month. I wish my husband would get the snip. My OB says everyone is different. At first I had TOM for 6 WEEKS STRAIGHT. Then it was normal. Now 3 years in and its sparatic again.

My dad passed away from metastatic prostate cancer a few years ago. They said it was from the agent orange he was exposed to in the Vietnam war. His mom died from pancreatic cancer but lived 5 years longer than the Doctors told her she would. My mom's father developed a brain tumor and died a year later. I like to think…

I don't cook very often for this reason. I love to cook, but I always just end up cooking for myself for the week and let hubby fend for himself. After 17 years, I have stopped getting offended when he doesn't eat my cooking. He eats only meat, french fries, rice, plain spaghetti, bread and sweets. No vegetables, fruit,…

Welcome! Good pace. I am lucky to get an 11:00 mile.
-
Congratulations! I think your time is AWESOME! I am hoping to finish in 3 hours.

I have started to eat my exercise calories back and have lost 4 lbs in 2 weeks. It is scary to think that eating MORE can cause weight loss since eating too much is what got alot of us here to begin with. All I can say is keep logging, and see what works for you. Make weekly adjustments, get enough sleep, drink enough…

I can honestly say that without some of the encouragement I have gotten from here...WHAT? I meant to say I couldn't have done it without you guys encoragement. I guess I can't type late at night. SORRY!

Good job on the trail race Jon. Running through sandy hills!?! Wow that sounds tough. linnea way to go on your 10k Good time! It took me 2:20 to run my 10 mile long run today. I can honestly say that without some of the encouragement I have gotten from here. Last month 6 miles was my longest run ever. My only complaint: My…

I run after going to the gym but it's HARD to do a long run and the gym in the same day. I am at the gym Monday - Saturday and run 3 to 4 days a week. Tomorrow is a 10 mile run, but no gym. Tuesday is 2 hours at the gym and a 5 mile run. (I just realized that while typing it) Just make sure to fuel your body. It is such a…

I have been working my mileage up on my long and medium runs weekly (thanks to the encouragement from a few people on this thread) adding about 10% per week. Whatever training plan you do, I am guessing that you could run the full 13.1 a week or 2 before the race and then again on race day.

Oh and GOOD LUCK! STAY WARM!

Easy 3 miles tonight. Long run Sunday morning will be 10 miles. I decided to make only my weekend runs in the AM so I won't be under any time pressure before work. I have been running every other day this month alternating between short (3 mile) medium (5 mile) and long (adding 1 mile each time now up to 10 miles) I plan…

My husband joined me for my 5 mile run last night. He pushes me to go so much faster. (At least it feels that way, I didn't time last nights run since my phone was DEAD) He didn't have any ankle issues this time. Good run!

Thanks! I get so anxious over my long runs. I can't even imagine how I will be for the actual race. I stay on the sidewalk so I dont worry too much about texters, but last night I had this guy asking me for directions and trying to get me to come up to his car. I yelled over to him "Sorry, I don't talk to strangers". Next…

Ran 8.8 miles tonight and it was AWESOME! I am so excited to go 10 miles on Sunday morning. Question: Do you guys run the same routes every time or try to change it up? I am fine running through my neighborhood for my short runs, but long runs seem easier when I can get distracted by something different to look at along…

Dean Ornish 'Eat More, Weigh Less' It's not an all or nothing "diet". It's just a book about making smarter decisions. He has a newer one that is called "The Spectrum" (I think) but I only skimmed through it at the book store. It seems like the same book with more pictures.

Do you do her video every day for the challenge?

I wouldn't usually consider buying something like it, but for that price I had to try.

Nike running shoes are crap (in my opinion) I have very little cartilage in my right knee and use Brooks addiction because they have a ton of support. I would suggest getting a free analysis at a running store though. My doctor said a knee brace wasn't necessary for me but suggested ice if I ever have swelling. Good Luck!

GO ALICE! Same here. I have a 9ish mile run to do Monday. and that is the most I have EVER run. You can do it!
