  • Good for you, you are a brave man. The only way I'll ever show my before pics is if I have some awesome after pics to go with them. Hope you have a great fitness journey and you achieve your goals. Congrats for taking charge!
  • Do any of you have a problem with the heart rate being lost depending on the position of your body? Mine goes in and out and of course if it can't find a heart rate it's not recording calories burned. I have a Suunto brand one with a chest strap.
  • That is phenomenal! Good for you for taking control and turning it all around. And congrats also for doing it without the surgery. One less hurdle to face. Keep up the fantastic work!
  • Well, I'm afraid that I have to bow out on the challenge. I have missed too many day for me to make up but I must say, in trying to make up those days, I have done about 60 burpees for a few days in a row. Not bad for my first attempt. Will try again when I'm feeling stronger. Thanks for all the support and advice and the…
  • That is absolutely fabulous! You look fantastic and so happy. Way to go!!
  • Just got my Chalean Extreme and did day 1, I think I'm going to love it (once I get my weight figured out!) I have a cold now so I may have to delay or tone down the work-out till I'm feeling better. Have fun everyone!!
  • What a great accomplishment you've made so far! You look fantastic and you also look very happy. I will definitely add you and I certainly need the motivation especially with the food side of things. Great to meet you and we'll be in touch!
  • Welcome to MFP! and good for you for taking control and changing your life. Sounds like you're well on your way to healthy living and the support and information you will get here will certainly help. Looking forward to see in you around.
  • Day 20 done! wow. I can't say it's getting any easier though. Maybe the first 5 are easier (better form) but that's it! still, a great challenge!
  • I find that weight training hurts my foot less that cardio does. I think the suggestion of a personal trainer is a good one and they can find exercises that work good for you and your situation. Good luck and weight training really is great!
  • bump!
  • Wow, you're my hero! 50 WITH stitches? That's amazing! Something to aspire to 9minus the stitches of course!)
  • day 13 done!
  • Day 11 and 12 done and onto 13! My shoulders are feeling pretty good. I guess it was just a learning curve for those muscles and now we're doing good!!
  • Burpees are going good! Shoulder are still stiff but my regular work-out is kicking the crap out of them too so ...Day 9 done and ready for more!!
  • Wow, that is an amazing transformation!! I really need to see that right now. I've had a couple of bad food days (not terrible) but seeing your story makes me think that "I CAN do this" Thanks and you are a real inspiration! Way to go and keep up the great job!! You look fantastic!
  • You look fantastic!! Way to go!
  • Looking great!! Way to go!
  • Wow Renee, awesome! Now you know you can do the rest of the 47 days!!
  • Hi and welcome to MFP. I too did weight watchers both the meetings and online and I was successful on it as long as I tracked my food! So, I figured I could just as easily track my food here and it's free!! So, i've been here since June and those weeks that I am honest with myself and track my food, I do very well, so for…
  • Thanks for the input Chris and Renee. I will try and modify (knee push-ups and slow burpees) and see how it goes. I'm not sure if it's just stiffness or if it's more than that but I will be careful. Thanks again.
  • Have you ever done this many burpees before? My shoulders are really sore after 2 days (i did 15 to catch up yesterday and as part of another work-out I did about 30) and I must say the more I do the worse my form gets. I'm hoping if I keep stretching and pushing through that eventually the hurt will go away. I have a long…
  • Sorry everyone, I thought the challenge started Sept 1 so clearly i'm way more behind than I thought! I'll bow out of this competition but do my own burpee challenge with a Sept 1 start date. Thanks for the idea and good luck with the rest of your challenge!
  • Well, I'm going to try this challenge! missed the first 4 days so I made them up yesterday, now onto day 6 (should be easier than the 15 I did yesterday to catch up) but then again I'm pretty sore from yesterday's work-out. This is going to be quite the challenge for me. Wish me luck!
  • Beginning of plantar fasciitis?? I know that that can be painful. google foot strengthening exercises and stretches and see if that helps. Also, definitely make sure you're shoes aren't worn out. It's amazing the difference a new pair of shoes can make. I have what I think is the beginning of a heel spur (dr found nothing…

I read one of the last posts, it looks like you've been doing great oslo123. way to go. My scale seems to have died today so I have no idea how I did while…
  • Good Morning all, Well, I know our weigh in day is not until Thursday but I'm in another group that weighs in on mondays and I won't be by a computer on thursday so I'll give you my progress today. down 2.2 lbs in 4 day!!! Awesome even though I indulged last night. So, tracking my food and drinking my water are the key to…
  • Well I can't believe it! Tonight we went to a friends place for supper and she is notorious for having loads of junk food of every kind in her house (and for me, if it's there, I have to eat it) So I had 2 pcs of pizza, some cheeses, some cinnamon sticks, some hickory sticks and a rum cooler. I tracked it all and I only…
  • Oslo123, when you start doing 30 day shred make sure you're careful about your knee. I found Jillian's work-out to be very fast paced (which is good) but also that she does individual move very quickly so just be careful that you're not rushing from movement to movement and risking your knee. I like her work-outs because…
  • Welcome Oslo123 and any other newcomers. We chat here everyday to motivate and encourage one another. Hearing about what everyone else is doing and seeing their successes really motivates me to get off my butt and do something, or to get off the couch and quit snacking. I find when I want to snack, I go to the message…
