You have a child involved. You need to proceed with caution. Doesn't matter who's driving. You can't really know a person just from photographs and phone conversations.

I looked it up and it doesn't seems to have many calories to worry about (5 calories for oz). I guess it's not worse then diet soda or something like Crystal Light. It only contains 3% lemon juice and no vitamin C. As an alternative you could make your own lemonade and use Splenda as the sweetener. At least you'd get some…

I Googled "heat stroke" and found this: "Heat stroke is a form of hyperthermia, an abnormally elevated body temperature with accompanying physical symptoms including changes in the nervous system function. Unlike heat cramps and heat exhaustion, two other forms of hyperthermia that are less severe, heat stroke is a true…

Some people need more fiber than others & sometimes a supplement is needed. Bene-fiber is flavorless and not at all gritty (it dissolves completely). There are also "Gummy Fiber" supplements. I give them to my step-son to keep him regular. If you eat a high fiber cereal every morning, that might be all you need. Don't up…

It's not a very popular choice, but I was afraid of being on the pill because I had an aunt who had a stroke at a young age. I've been using a cervical cap with spermicide a long time. If the hormonal solutions are not tolerable, you might look into the non-hormonal alternatives. Cervical caps are difficult to find. I…

Hmmm....Well, you seem to be progressing at a very good rate, so you're must be doing it right! So, the bottom line it that you'd like to lose 10 pounds in one month. That's a pretty lofty goal, especially as you get closer to your target weight. I don't want to discourage you from that goal, but be careful that you aren't…

It seems to be unanimous. Processed foods are the culprit. Lunch meats, canned soups, fast food, & pretty much anything that's pre-packaged is always loaded with sodium. I can keep my sodium really low if I avoid that kind of stuff. Is your food diary viewable by your friends? If you'd like, I can have a look at your food…

YES! I've been looking forward to this! Thanks!

You have every right to feel annoyed. Stick to your guns and know that you're doing the right thing for yourself. Having said that...I do wonder about this...In many families food equals love and acceptance. Did your family have a habit of rewarding you with food when you were a child? or did your parents use food to try…

Fellow child of the 60's here. There's an app for many of the smartphones, too. The more you keep track of what you're eating, the better you'll stick to your goals. If you're not sure of serving sizes, I highly recommend getting a kitchen scale. Good luck!

I agree with the others who have said that MFP has the fiber goal set low. I raised my fiber goal to 25 g by editing the settings. I don't know if I can post the link, but the Mayo Clinic recommends 25 g of fiber per day for women 50 and younger. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fiber/NU00033/NSECTIONGROUP=2

Don't be too hard on yourself. I know it seems like 400 or 500 calories over your goal is something horrible, but remember, it's probably close to what your calorie target will be when you go into maintenance mode. Forgive yourself and focus on all the days that you made good choices.

Yes. It is hard when you have kids at home. I have a 20-year-old & an 8-year-old, plus my husband. NONE of them would be happy to adopt this way of eating as a lifestyle. Most of the time, I just eat differently than the rest of the family, but it's not too difficult. I try to cook in ways that we have a similar meal, but…

Go to the pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist. RID seems to work pretty well, but it may require more than one treatment. Be sure to wash all of her bedding, hairbrushes, bath towels, headbands, coats, etc. (You need to wash everything that her head has contacted.) I recommend against the kerosene.

I recently bought the book and I'm going to give "Primal" a try. I may not adhere to it exactly, but I plan to aim for that direction. Anyone interested in sharing ideas? Please add me as a friend. First question: How did you set your protein, fat, and carb goals? As of this morning, I set mine as follows: Calories at 1200…
