  • I'm on Day 2 of the 21DF eating, and week 2 of T25 Alpha Round. Did Lower Focus today. I took "before" pics, but not measurements. I'll do that tonight!
  • I've found that regular quinoa has a strange taste (to me), but if you live near a Trader Joe's, their Organic Tri-Color Quinoa doesn't! And, whichever kind you get, make sure you rinse it well before cooking!
  • Thanks! It's not so much that I don't know how to fill them, but I'm struggling with making a recipe (like soup or enchiladas ) and figuring out how I would calculate my containers from a serving. I need to be able to make a large enough meal to fill a hungry husband and a hungry boy, and be able to know that my green…
  • Thanks! I'm trying to tweak my search terms b/c I'm only pulling up single-serving recipes. Hopefully I'll figure it out!
  • Thanks, that sounds delicious! And yes, you could make *most* recipes kosher, depending on what was in it.
  • I keep Kosher, but we eat a lot of vegetarian. Pinterest is my best friend when it comes to recipes! Also, Oh She Glows (www.ohsheglows.com) is a vegan food blog, but it's still freaking delicious. Here are some of my favs: http://www.kalynskitchen.com/2012/03/slow-cooker-recipe-for-sweet-potato-and.html…
  • These are some of my favorites: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/turkey-and-quinoa-meatloaf/ http://ellysaysopa.com/2013/06/03/sloppy-joes/ http://www.weightwatchers.com/food/rcp/RecipePage.aspx?recipeid=129371 (minus the tortilla chips)
  • Ditto on the overnight oats! Super easy - BUT you have to be okay with the texture and temperature (cold oatmeal). I also like green smoothies (spinach, banana, almond milk, PB2 and other fruit if I have it). Hard-boiled eggs, 1/4 avocado smashed onto toast, greek yogurt (try Oikos Triple Zero for less sugar) with fruit or…
  • thanks! I'm looking forward to the exercise in a shorter time. Honestly, by the time I wrestle the kid into bed, I can't do a 45+ minute workout! 25 min is just my style :-D
  • I did TurboFire all 2013 (was really sick in 2014) and I loved it!! Chalene is perky, but not really annoying perky. The only thing that kills me is that some of the workouts are long, so if you can only do them at night, the 55-min ones are hard. There was enough variety to keep it interesting, and I felt REALLY powerful…
  • I'm sure others might have answer for you, but honestly, these are great questions to ask her! My husband is a physical therapist, and he teaches this kind of stuff all the time.
  • Do you need equipment to do T25?
  • Hi :-) I am buying it off craigslist and hopefully starting in the next week. I'm excited! I did TurboFire in 2013, but got really sick all through 2014 and couldn't work out at all. So...all that hard work down the drain!
  • Can anyone help me figure out how to enter the meal data for my food diary? I just started the Kosher meal plan and love it! Do I create a recipe for each one, or is there a way to add calories/fat/protein/sugar for each one?
  • Take Me Home Tonight - Eddie Money (I make myself sprint during the chorus) Raise Your Glass - Pink Let's Get it Started - Black Eyed Peas She's Country - Jason Aldean Pretty much anything by Pitbull
  • We're pretty Kosher in the home, and I eat vegetarian out of the house. DH eats whatever out of the house...he's got the metabolism of a 12-year old boy, I swear!
  • Oh Me! Me! Me!
  • I just started doing it out of necessity (work FT, have a toddler). I used to be a 5pm or later workout-er, but that's impossible these days. I like having it out of the way, and feel better about myself all day. I actually make better food choices, too, b/c I feel healthy. I think it took me about 2 weeks to feel "into"…
  • King Arthur Flour makes this amazing Boiled Apple Cider that's like a really tart and tangy syrup. I use it for baking and also add a drizzle to my oatmeal, along with cinnamon and walnuts. It's so good! You can google to find it on their website.
  • I'm not vegetarian, but we keep Kosher. Meat is really $$$$, so we eat it about 1x/week. I get a lot of recipe ideas from the Eating Well magazine website b/c they do a ton of veggie options. Ditto to everyone that talked about lentils, beans, etc. I've done quinoa breakfast before over Passover, and it was okay. You have…
  • I don't make a mix, really, but I throw in the usual seasonings to taste: Chili Powder Cumin Salt/Pepper Chipotle Peppers in Adobo sauce (if you don't like a lot of heat, just throw in 1-2tsp of the sauce, not a pepper. If you use a pepper, cut open, take out the seeds and then mash it up with a fork. Great smokey flavor)…
  • Thanks! That's a great suggestion.
  • That's what I figured. I don't make money off my blog (that would be nice, right?) but I have a good stash of recipes to share, if anyone wanted. Thanks!
  • What was that 100 calorie guac you were telling me about?
  • Yeah, I miss being pregnant - only b/c I could eat and not feel guilty about it! I'm terrified of what's going to happen when I finally wean my son. I imagine I'll keep eating like I'm nursing and then BAM - gain it all back.
  • these are GREAT suggestions - thank you!! I am a WW graduate and I just couldn't stay full on the snacks they suggested - all 0 point things like carrots and snap peas. I love me some kale chips, esp seasoned with Old Bay! Thanks for the meatball suggestion, too. I'm going to try this with some ground turkey later in the…
  • I never got really thirsty during my nursing sessions, either. A lot of people told me "Oh, you'll just be PARCHED!" but it never happened. I actually started buying Clear Splash (flavored sparkling water) and just lugging one of them around the house because I found that easier to drink than plain water.
  • Nursing mom here, too. My son is about 7 months old and my supply is starting to dwindle. I need to find the balance of calories again.
  • Count me in, too. It will help remind me to login and track. My baby is 7 months and I am still nursing/pumping. Struggling with staying full and making good food choices - playing the "calorie" game as someone else noted. How much to eat? What to eat? How to stay full from healthy foods? And I'm STARVING all the time.…
