Food that contains protein : lean meats, fish, Greek yogurt & cottage cheese.

Do you hydrate enough before & after the run? If you drink coffee before the run, it might cause dehydration, which causes headaches? Also, you should have a light protein & carb combo snack b/f your run. Like a slice of toast w/ P.B or a half a protein bar. I love my coffee in the a.m. (only time I drink it - so I have a…

I like you always felt that I had big leg problems - when I gain weight my little brother would say that I had a "football" player built - LOL! funny as he though it was - it made me self-conscience, especially when I was young like you.. 20 years later, and now that I'm in my best overall shape in my life and over 40…

In all honesty - Women sizes vary so much on brand, cut that it really isn't comparing apples to apples. I'm 5'5 137lb (was 162lbs) and I can fit anywhere between a size 4 (better maker brands) to a 10 (slim/skinny fit)! I would say my size is a 8! 25 lbs ago - I fit a 12! -These are misses sizes, as jr run smaller.

You can get a HRM, I have a PolarF7 and it works great. I have found that it calculates a lower burn by about 10_15% for kickboxing, running and about 30_40% than the elliptical machine. I love using mine for strength training and I do a lot of group workout classes, and run outside so it gives me a better calorie burned…

I'm reducing my body fat % and starting to see more difinition in my body! I actually think my upper body is nice to look at now, and I've never thought that! haven't lost any weight since August - even put a couple back on but eating an average 2K daily diet with high protein and lifting weights, and enjoying all the…

it took me forever to loose fat by reducing my bodyfat% to reduce my breast size - but through diet, exercise I finally have managed to get them in better shape - not exactly a huge reduction in size but the overall firmness from weight lifting now after droping the lbs has been amazing. I actually can see my breast bones…

you will be able to do it - just dedicate 3 days a week to running, and a 5K distances shouldn't be a problem. we all have our good running days, and the ones that feel like we just can run at all. practice and consistency is the key. don't start out sprinting, ease into it and your feel much better. your lucky you are…

HI - I'm a working mom too, and I use my lunch time to get into shape as morning are hard, and evening pretty much impossible. Keep up the great progress and you will see results - it does take a while to happen, so be patient.

just seen your posting, right after I posted my answer - do you belong to a gym, they can do your measurements there, if not maybe do a free trial at a gym (but don't join - if you don't want to/ need to ). and get them to do the assessment - yes you will need to go through the sales pitch but it would be worth it. You can…

It really depends on your gender, current body weight and body fat. In general it best to loose only 1-3 lbs a week at most, so 4-12 lb. a month. That's because you want to maintain the weight loss by continuing to eat and exercise in a way that becomes a life style, and not a quick fix that back fires within a month due…

the first few weeks are pretty low impact so if you feel that you want to do another day - i would say go for it. after you get to 6-8 weeks you will be pushing harder so stay with the 3 days, and continue with that after the program is finished. do as others have said and cross train - i love to do kickboxing, swimming,…

My guess would be that either you are dehydrated, waiting to long to eat prior to working out or your protein isn't high enough. I seem to have lots of headaches & tend to get migraines if I don't watch my diet & hydration needs. Hope that helps. I always get hunger headaches but don't like to eat right before an intense…

It sounds like you are very knowledgeable and know what your body & baby needs. I personally only gained 25 lbs because I ate very healthy - and I really was eating all day long and never went hungry. My body weight and size was larger than yours ((5'5 -155lbs) and my OB actually said that it would be best continue to…

subsitute some of your salt seasoned meat/pork with dash, basil, rosemary, etc (non-solidium) seasoned pork, chicken and eat more fish. I also eat raw almonds, and do protein shakes, greek yorgurt, and boiled eggs. I do love my Pb so I have alot of that - but I don't go other unless I have lots of soup, or chinese food,…

That's exactly how I feel - they are driving me crazy!! I have all these clothes and nothing to wear - well not much to wear :) I found a frined in need to give the better maker items to and will donate the rest. I did tailor some of the pants in the waist previously, but they are too big again and it's through the hips…

I do think it important to buy smaller sizes when you are in transition - even if they are second hand because it is such a moral booster! Please treat yourself as 35 lbs is a huge accomplishment, I bet you are wearing pants that are three sizes too big, and they really aren't helping you look or feel as good as you can.…

I agree completely as I ran both programs (mapmyfitness & endomondo) MAPMYFITNESS was so over on both speed and miles - as I ran on a marked path. I now use endomondo and it seems to much better - but now I have to re-reach goals I thought I had already achieve based on my usage of mapmyfitness!! UGG!!

I was not big by the standard that others have stated above, but I never was able to run until I did the C25K. I think what helped me the most was learning to lap swim first as it was easier on my joints, and because I was over weight less stressful on my bones. I also did a clean diet for a few weeks, which was a killer…

You have basically answered your own question, you want to do a variety of work outs to "wake up" all the muscles in your body, and not just use the one that hold and work from memory. Strength training will build lean muscle, which in turn burns more calories during your cardio exercise. I've read that doing cardio first…

I'm almost 5'5 , more like 5'41/2" - I thought my goal weight was 140 when I started MFP at 168# but now I'm at 135 lb and feeling like I would love to be 128lbs. - But not going to starve myself or set myself up on a yo-yo diet. Maintenance is going well for me, as my body is getting toner everyday, and I have been…

Gonna try this. I got the Champion target/sears brand and it is good because there isn't any additional padding material, as I just don't understand why many companies insist on added this to "D-Cup" - like we really need more!! I'm a 34 D and it's hard to locate supportive bra's so some times (less times now as I was a…

Nicely done, amazing how your body changed in just 30 days. Great motivation when you see results like that, keep up the good work.

Wow, that is way over estimated as I do kickboxing and it is usually about 560 calories burned when I record it. I found a blog with other comments at: http://www.teambeachbody.com/connect/message-boards/-/message_boards/message/137610560

HI Kate - What's you plan with exercise and diet? That's the first thing to start with when trying to loose weight. If you do it to fast you won't maintain it. Concentrate on heathy eating habits, and exercising. Do you run? I didn't but know I do after using the Couch to 5k app called C25K - and I also wight lift, kickbox…

Okay - all I have to do is grow about 2 inches in the torsal area to look as amazing as you!! ? Wonderful job!

What a great accomplishment - that so incredible!! I love your wardrobe too. You dresses & clothes really compliment your figure. It must be exciting to see all the ongoing changes in your body, and your health. Keep up the great work

Thank you. I love the "much younger body" comment as I have work hard on it, and nice to hear positive comments.

Thanks - I do feel that the second picture does relieve my age a bit more, and I appreciate your advice regarding my hair style. I did get it cut a few inches and colored to refresh it for the fall - this was taken in the summer after sun abuse and many months of no cuts.

OK than, I better start standing in the social security line :-) Funny thing is that in the last year when I lost the weight my face did loose a lot of fat - which in turn has made me look older and I personally see it. I am very confident and happy with myself and just thought this would be a interesting topic to see the…
