  • My typical breakfast is: Oatmeal with either Apple Butter or Blueberry Peach butter swirled in and some fresh fruit on top with some Greek Yogurt or Scrambled Egg whites and spinach in a low carb wrap with a chicken sausage on the side. Sometimes I'll do a Greek Yogurt Parfait where I put the Greek yogurt in a cup, top…
  • Feel free to add me as well.
  • I'm a Stay at Home Mom (now I worked full time up until 2 months ago) to my 3 1/2 year old and 1 year old sons. I have about 90 pounds to go to reach my goal. : ( I was around here about a year ago and when I had to go back to work after maternity leave I kinda fell off the MFP earth and all the people I was motivated by…
  • Check out Lindsay Brin and Moms into Fitness. Her speciality is Mom's getting into shape after delivery. After I had my second child I was back at my pre-pregnancy weight within 3 months. I swear by her.

  • I did that diet years ago. It works from the standpoint that if you cut out carbs completely you'll lose weight. Now this one you do add them back after 2 weeks. For me, the first phase was really hard. I don't necessarily crave sweet carbs myself, but when I eat a high protein breakfast for whatever reason, I feel…
  • Thanks for the responses everyone. I appreciate it.
  • What an absolutely incredible transformation. Great job!
  • Welcome! My advice is to be fully truthful when doing your food diary, you're only cheating yourself if you aren't. Also make mini goals to celebrate along the way. And when you slip up (everyone does), forgive yourself and move on. Better to have one bad day than a bad week, month, or year.
  • Keep at it and you'll lose it. Just remember it took 9 months to put the baby weight on so it will take awhile for it to come off. I've been able to get my workouts fit in during naptime, but this is my last week of maternity leave so my schedule is going to totally get changed soon. I'm worried how I'll fit it all in, but…
  • I can run one now, but not before I did couch to 5K. Part of the key is running slow enough to complete the distance. I typically run like a 12 minute mile so definitely not a fast pace. Good luck.
  • Way to go! Now go get some sleep.
  • I have a 3 month old and a 2 1/2 year old and I typically workout during afternoon nap time. But my maternity leave is up in a week so this week I will start waking up early to get it in since that's how I'll have to do it when I return to work.
  • The only kind I like is Chobani. Every other kind tastes nasty to me.
  • I'm going to have to check that out. Sounds like something I need. My weight loss has caused my butt to deflate. Need to lift it back up.
  • Lindsay Brin 60-day slimdown. It's meant for Mom's. I finished last week and the program is great.
  • Welcome. It's hard to offer advice when we don't really know what your goals are, but you'll find a diverse group of opinions around here so take everything with a grain of salt and do what works for you.
  • I'd like to join. I'm currently on maternity leave, but I start back to work on Oct 3  so a challenge sounds perfect to help me stay on track when I have to work out in the early mornings after waking in the middle of the night with my baby instead of using naptime, and returning to a cube area that is constantly…
  • You just have to do it. I hate to say it, but it's not going to get any easier with Halloween candy, Thanksgiving, and Christmas baking coming up. Set yourself some mini-goals and anytime you want to cheat think about whether that choice will help you get closer to or further from your goals. It takes 21 days to make a…
  • I don't know about lover or fighter, but you know how they say you either have a fight or flight instinct? Well, I know mine's fight. I got mugged once and even though I'm a woman and he was a strong man, I stood my ground and didn't run away screaming. He still ultimately got my money (I only had $5 on me and it wasn't…
  • Hi ladies ... I've been getting my workouts done and have done the extra mile 2 days. Yesterday my 2 month old was cranky (shots) so I walked the hall with him for at least a half hour. I probably did more than a mile, but I'm counting it. I call him my baby bear so maybe that can count as a bear walk. (a girl can dream,…
  • You can absolutely do it. My first half marathon training program only had me run 10 miles before the actual race and you're nearly there already.
  • I usually eat some, but not all of them back. It really depends on if I'm hungry or not. When I get to a plateau then I'll eat more of them back to help break through it.
  • I'm trying to go Bushmen this week and have done about half. First I did my planned slimdown workout which was a 30 minute run (I did it on the treadmill since it's been pouring down rain all day) with a 5 minute each warm-up & cool-down walk. I did stay on the treadmill afterwards for the extra mile walk. Burned over 500…
  • I was in my 20's when it happened and I remember being so scared. I was convinced that more attacks were coming and it was going to come across the country. I remember watching the images over and over and being devastated for the families. I can't believe it' was 10 years ago. I just saw images of the towers coming down…

  • I think it definitely looks like a lunge. My guess is 25 on each side. Otherwise you wouldn't be even.
  • I'm personally scared of the bear walk... part of the reason I didn't do it, plus the way my house is laid out I don't have a great place to do it, especially for 5 Bushmen minutes. Best place, I believe is the upstairs hallway. I'll just have to vacuum everyday since I'd be going right past the closet with the litter…
  • Those poor children. I'm thinking CPS would be better than the landlord, because if the landlord says someone is complaining of the yelling then she may stop yelling at them, but start physically abusing them instead.
  • Hm, so we get an additional point for every day we do an extra mile? I'm gonna consider getting my treadmill out and walking a mile every day. That would be 7 extra points, right? Or is it a one time thing?
  • Current weight 182.6 lbs. (no change ... I'm ok with that, at least it's not up) Daily exercises.... Yes all 3 are done Weekly challenge( cals & water) Yes all 3 days are done Bonus 3 minute bear walk No
