This was probably already mentioned, but if you gain 10 pounds of muscle you will likely be super toned. At this point it's probably best for you to ignore the number on the scale and focus on building muscle, anyway. If you are at 116.9lbs now and attempt to tone up, I don't think you'll have much success gaining any…

I love diet soda and the aspartame will probably kill me one day. HOWEVER, I have noticed that when I drink carbonated soda, I get hungrier faster. I think I read somewhere (this might be a myth) that the carbonation can expand your stomach (meaning, more room to fill, hungrier longer?) but I don't have a source for that…

You look great! Congrats!!

you look great! how tall are you??

You must have measured wrong because I can totally see a difference, especially in the waist/tummy area! Nice work.

This is what I want to do! Did you work with a personal trainer or read a book that was a good guide, or did you do it all by yourself through trial and error?

I have changed my goal weight a million times but now, I've just decided to get out of the overweight category on BMI (by .1) and then focus on building muscle/cutting fat and ignoring my actual weight, so long as I'm exercising and improving my body fat percentage. Also, I'm female, and have set a pretty high goal weight…

WHOA, huge difference! Nice work.

I would post my ideal body, but CoryIda already has. I want her body!

Look #2 is disgusting on both men and women. WTF? Wanting to be that large has to be some kind of mental-related body image issue. There, I said it.

He's supportive of my exercising but is not at all supportive when it comes to food. His theory is that you can eat anything you want as long as you eat in moderation. It's probably true, but I can't eat anything I LOVE in moderation, and I explain this allllll the time.

I always have a difficult time losing weight if I allow myself to drink alcohol, even when I'm within my calorie range. I would advise that you try cutting back to only having a couple of beers on the weekend and see how that affects your weight loss.

Yup, we need to see your food diary in order to determine if you're eating in a way that might be detrimental to weight loss. Open it up. :)

Do you mean "snack" as in, something to eat between meals when you're feeling nibbly, or something that is sweet and naughty but is still healthy? For the former, I agree with the celery and peanut butter (or even cream cheese) and cheese sticks. For the latter, I consider berries and greek yogurt to be one of the best…

I am definitely planning on buying it. I may need to work my way up to it, though.

I notice this too. It's not confusing, it's effing ANNOYING. I try not to give advice to people (UNLESS of course they're asking for advice in the original post and I have something to say about it). While I don't think McDonalds is the healthiest thing to eat, it makes sense that people would try to fit something like…

I understand your frustration. Did you take your measurements prior to starting your plan? If not, you may have lost inches and just don't notice. Either way, if you had better luck with Zumba, maybe you should incorporate a couple of days of Zumba into your week. If you've upped your calories and you haven't gained any…

Difficulty losing weight or even gaining weight is one of the side effects of SSRI medication. I've been on two different kinds and both inhibited weight loss / may have even caused weight gain. At any rate, your loss definitely doesn't sound slow. Just take it easy and you'll be there in no time!

My family growing up was pretty lazy, but my parents both worked two full time jobs and never focused on their own health. My brother and I are both a little bit overweight but we're both a lot more active than our parents. Now, my boyfriend and I are a little family unit and I would say that he's pretty lazy (although in…

Bikram yoga actually helped me become more flexible. You might try that.

Maybe you built muscle on your thighs but didn't lose any fat from them. Either way, I see a big difference and you look awesome. Every time I see something like that I'm even more determined to start the 30DS again.

SW: 212.8 CW: 207.4 GW: 165 (not that important since I want to gain a lot of muscle once I've lost fat)

I think it really has to do with your body composition. Build some muscle, burn some fat, eventually they should go away/decrease in size.

More protein!

How many calories do you eat per day?
-
Just bumping this.

The last two posters obviously have never read the book. Atkins is also like the Paleo diet - all you're really doing is cutting out whole grains for the long haul, and they're not even necessary to remain healthy. I'm not on atkins but a really good online resource for you is a website called sugarfreesheila.com. But yeah…

Fat consists of 60% of my macros.

29$ per month with a 35$ start-up fee for the YMCA for me. They have cheap memberships depending on your age and income. That includes a full gym, unlimited classes, an indoor pool, and a rock climbing wall (among other things). I should also add that this includes access to all 3 Y's in my area.
