  • I may try to get into Cherry Blossom next year...sounds like a blast! Sorry, hon...I can't root for Duke for 2 reasons. 1. General hatred, and 2. They beat my Mountaineers last night! But I can be happy for you if you get the $200.
  • I just saw both of your albums...such a beautiful family! All of the kids look like Violet. She's beautiful. Your hubs looks SOOOOOO different without the beard...I can see his face now! You've got yourself a cutie!
  • Happy Easter, my Black Team friends! We're having a nice, quiet relaxing day at home. No traveling or entertaining, just a good home cooked dinner for two. Having some roast turkey with baked mac and cheese and some green bean casserole with a strawberry pie for dessert. I sure am glad I went running yesterday AND that I…
  • Since Marla wants to put me on blast, here I am. Here's the rundown. + 29 days to race day = lots more miles = not feeling it when I get home after 8pm +Studying for Test #4 +Still in the happy 143-147 range +SWAMPED at work because one of the girls is out on maternity leave, so not much time to check in on my…
  • I'm doing my first full in November and my only goal is to finish without puking, passing out or dying. That's it.
  • I had cookie cake in celebration of my teammate's birthday after our 10 mile run. Just a little piece, and way within my cals so I'm not going to beat myself up about it. Back on it tomorrow. 1466 cals burned today...whoo hoo!
  • Marla, I seriously  your MIL as much as I  you. She's truly amazing. Continuing to keep you all in my thoughts and hoping for a pleasant resolution soon. 2 days, sweet free. Maybe it's not so bad. Wanted to cave more than once today, but I didn't. Yay me.
  • Yep, they sure are! And I don't LOVE the peanut ones, I like the PB and dark choc the best. But these work when I want chocolate. Right now I am having tea to kill the post lunch craving.
  • I am suffering too! We can do it, though. Gotta put my caveat out there though. Keeping the chocolate milk for my recovery drink after long runs. I can do the candy, cookies, etc. And you will be happy to know that I have not put my hand in the M&M bowl once today. So getting back on this!
  • I'm so sorry for what that wretched man is putting your family through. He ought to hope that he never gets what he deserves.
  • I'm sorry. :blushing: But in addition to not wanting to jinx it, there are people who may or may not read this and I don't want them to know. (Read: people I see on a daily basis and don't want in my business.) Hence the reason I have been censoring myself on FB as well. It sucks, but hopefully there will be something to…
  • Long time, no post...hi my team! Been doing pretty well, lots going on...mostly good. The biggest thing is something I don't want to talk about yet and jinx, so I won't say anything. But, it's good and it's potentially huge. The running is great, eating has been less so...but such is life. I'm enjoying it. Hope this finds…
  • I'm not sure if it was temporary insanity or the fact that I didn't want to do the walk of shame on Tuesday when I meet the group. Either way, I survived. It really wasn't that bad.
  • Hasn't he ever heard "Pride goeth before a fall?" At least you tried *hugs*
  • I'd skip that too, ours wasn't nearly that bad!
  • Classic. No sense in sugar coating the truth. So, to your hubs, I say "Keep your *kitten* in that hospital. Love and hugs from MD."
  • Marla- Keeping your hubs in my prayers...glad they have at least offered a solution, and hoping that they can get to the root of the problem. Big hugs to you and the kids. Happy Birthday, Abby! Finally warming up from my 8 miler in the rain. It was 47 degrees, so pretty comfy temperature-wise, but the wind and constant…
  • Yes, like my "planned forgetting" when I eat cheesecake next week at the Cheesecake Factory. Didn't get to eat it when we went before Christmas, so I am having it then. At least it will have been a 'treat' rather than a habit.
  • Preach it, Rev. Brown! No, seriously...I've realized this very thing for the hundredth time this last week. Ate crap all last week while working out, gained almost 6 pounds...this week, got back into the good food and kept my workouts going and have lost 3 of them in 2 days. Feel much better, too. I know what the junk food…
  • Andrew and Beth- So proud of you both! Love you to pieces  Marla and Bobbi- Your stories make me glad that BF hates distance running. I love running with the ladies in my group, but I enjoy that solo time, too. Best of both, I guess. Leslie- Good to see you checking in! Sam- I am going to join the crowd of jealousy…
  • Checking in because I have failed miserably so far on the challenge. And, while I was out...I let stress, nerves and laziness get the better of me to the tune of a 5 pound weight gain. Yummy food, but too many bad choices. Should have done better, but it's the past and I'm moving on. At least I kept running...got in at…
  • No such thing as too much talk about peeps...
  • I'm planning to take it easy after my half in May for a couple weeks, and then start one of the Hal Higdon training programs for my full. Those programs are about 18 weeks long, so my half in October should fit in perfectly for when I start tapering. Good luck!
  • Hate to picture drive-by and run, but I got my hair cut last night and am dying to show it off... Profile pic is obviously before, and here is after...
  • I'm training for half marathons in May and October, and my first full in November. Can't wait!
  • Voted, will vote often and will put it on my FB. Hope you win!
  • Agreed on both counts. Can't stand a hypocrite, but I also can't stand the "holier-than-thou, you're going to hell if you disagree types." Not that I'm including you in that group, because I'm totally not...just saying I agree that both elements make for a horrible example.
  • These sound great, except for the mashed bananas. Think I could use applesauce in its place?
  • Even if the parent didn't respond favorably, I'm glad you said something. Obviously, I know that Christians are also human, and therefore not perfect, but that is insane. It's just ridiculous for them to allow their kids to act like that in public and make no attempt to address it. Reminds me of preachers' kids. (Yes, I am…
