  • Hi, I haven’t gardened in probably six or seven years but I’m working from home and ready to try my hand at it again. I have three 4’x8’ raised beds that I used to use for square foot gardening. In the past, I was successful starting snap peas by Valentines Day, with turnips to follow by March. My summer veggies included…
  • Hi, I’m late to the party but this thread resonates with me. I’m 41. I’ve lost 27 pounds with close to a hundred left to go. My mom is quickly losing her mobility. It became noticeable in September. She has uncontrolled diabetes (won’t change her diet), COPD, and neuropathy. I am a runner but I fell into a sedentary…
  • Hi, I'm back at this after bouncing up and down over the fall and early winter. I'm finally seeing weight loss again, and so relieved. I would love to be buddies.
  • Startging weight: 221.2 1st week weight (July 23): 220.8 (-.4) 2nd week weight (July 30): 217 (-3.8) 3rd week weight (August 6): 4th week weight (August 13): 5th week weight (August 20): 6th week weight (August 27): Total lost in challenge: 4.2 pounds
  • Chocolate Covered Katie is a great resource. I love her chocolate banana "soft serve," This is what I turn to when I'm craving ice cream or chocolate. But, also, if you are craving chips or something, would it be possible to buy a single serving size and build that into your calories for the day? Sure, it wouldn't be great…
  • Like another poster, I have been stuck at 221 for about a month now, so I'm happy to see even a tiny loss. Starting weight (July 16): 221.2 Hit the gym today and am planning on going three more days this week. 1st week weight (July 23): 220.8 (-.4) 2nd week weight (July 30): 3rd week weight (August 6): 4th week weight…
  • Starting weight (July 16): 221.2 1st week weight (July 23): 220.8 (-.4) Worked my butt off daily, but last week was hard because of TOM, so I'm hoping for a bigger change in the weeks to come. 2nd week weight (July 30): 3rd week weight (August 6): 4th week weight (August 13): 5th week weight (August 20): 6th week weight…
  • Goofing off in front of a photo-op board at a Superhero-themed Cub Scout Day Camp.
  • August 27 is my 30th birthday so I'm absolutely in! I'm 221 now, so if I were to lose 15 by then, I would be within waving distance of onederland. See you Monday!
  • Actually, I take that back. Apparently stevia can also cause side effects such as bloating, nausea, dizziness, muscle pain, and numbness. http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-682-STEVIA.aspx?activeIngredientId=682&activeIngredientName=STEVIA Splenda:…
  • I would say stevia because it is natural, right? Splenda can cause all sorts of nasty health problems. We don't allow it anywhere near our house. With that said, I have not tried stevia. I am a tried and true fan of using plain old sugar or honey.
  • I'll join! I'm a SAHM to my 10 year old son and my 2 year old daughter. I have about 100 pounds to lose and I'm up to challenging myself to lose 15 or 20 in the next two months. I'll join the circus on team red!
  • Once I lose my first five pounds, I'm going to get my brows done. I let them go during my busy spring and now they badly need to be reshaped.
  • That's not right. Ignore this goober. =) My net is 1440. The 2000 I got from what I'm supposed to eat if I count the exercise.
  • Thanks for posting this. I wonder the same thing, too. It seems like I am eating more than I was before I was trying to lose weight, yet my weight was stationary then. I have noticed a slight difference in the scale this week, but I won't count my official weigh in until tomorrow. My net calorie goal is just under 2000,…
  • I am 28, also, and have about 100 pounds to lose at 5'5". I joined on Saturday, so I'm in day 6. I have also done weight watchers(which I liked, but is too costly) and sparkpeople. I prefer MFP to sparkpeople because SP figures your calories on how much exercise you would like to do, rather than what you have actually…
  • I've had the same question. I noticed recently that PayLess has the rocker-sole shoes for around $20 now, so it wouldn't be a HUGE waste to try them. I'm thinking about getting a pair for myself. FYI: My in-laws and my mother wear them and haven't displayed any noticeable difference, though.
  • I'm in my first week, too. It does look like you're doing well. I guess I didn't fully realize that we want to hit the calorie goal. That makes me feel a little better about my deviant brownie and cheeto snacks.
  • I'm in! My goal is to exercise 60 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for a total of 1200 minutes.
  • Just joined yesterday and I would love to be your friend. I am a SAHM to two kids, also.
