There needs to be a happy medium here. All one way or another is just selfish. Being a family involves being considerate of the WHOLE family. That being said, I do not have the time to cook seperate meals for everyone. Most nights I do have something on the healthier side for dinner that everyone has. I don't go overboard.…

Yes it works!! I started out at 263 and am down to 205. Using MFP counting calories has made me aware of what I was eating and how much of. Even the "healthy" stuff wasn't so healthy.

The person I saw use the ladies room and then hit the equipment without washing her hands. Yuck! I'd rather deal with the sweat not being wiped off!

Check skinnytaste.com and search for blue cheese dressing. I'm making it tonight as I have not tried it yet but I love all of her recipes thus far. Balsamic vinagrette dressings are good, as is kens light honey mustard. Ken's also makes a light sweet vidalia onion dressing that's delicious.

^This!! Rum, rum & rum. Great with a diet cola but also good mixed with some ice & fruit (liitle higher calorie but still delicious)

Most exercise calories are too high on MFP. I did not eat all of my exercise calories back until I bought a HRM so I had a more accurate count. That being said my HRM says I burn more calories running than MFP gave me. Otherwise, yes MFP is over estimated.

Beautiful! Did you really lose all that weight since June of last year? I started out in May of last year and at the same size. I wish I was a size 6 now!

I know for myself, those 100 calorie snacks don't usually fill me up. I went out and bought a bunch of those cheap little storage containers and fill those up instead. I vary my snacks so I don't get bored. Today I had half off a red bell pepper cut up with an Alouette cheese portion to dip it in (yum and way under 100…

Yes I log it. Kills me to do it but it's great to see the loss really increase the next week.

They actually mean 8 , 8oz glasses of water (8oz=1 cup). You should be fine with what you're drinking already.

Thanks for posting. I've always wanted to try it there. Obviously it's a big splurge but to each their own. Oh and for the person on their high horse, yes local's USUALLY better, but not always. Unless you're actually in the kitchen to every restaurant, don't judge! The OP was just giving a helpful suggestion for those who…

Wow! That looks a lot more than 40 lbs! Great job!!
-
Totally understand where you're coming from! I've been here on MFP since the end of last May making my own changes but just found out my son is pre-diabetic at 13. I would suggest looking up recipes on skinnytaste.com or other sites like it. I have had a lot of success with this site that the recipes have been edible by…

At 37 I can now run for 2.5 miles straight! Even at 17 running track I couldn't run 1 mile straight without stopping.
-
Wowza!

I would guess body pump since you're looking to add muscle and it involves lifting. I do body combat myself and it is a great workout. I've lost about 10 lbs and lost inches since starting almost 2 months ago. I think it does tone some also. It's harder for me to tell as I had so much fat to lose, but my arms definately…

Not feeling sexy. Sexy's coming back though!

Personally I would be concerned with the amt. of sodium in cottage cheese & string cheese. I guess each nutritionist is different because mine says to have one glass of skim milk daily. I also don't want osteoporosis.
-
Yes. Milk pretty much rocks! I try to have a glass with dinner if calories allow. Maybe I'll do this before bed instead. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm incredibly cheap so I bought a HRM from wal-mart. They only had one available that came with a chest strap & counted calories. That was all I needed so I decided against the more expensive Polar models. It ran around $50 or so. I've had it for almost 2 months and it works great!

Amazing loss! Even the clothes that you have on in your recent picture are huge on you.
-
Obviously this guy was a total jerk! Thank goodness you're 20 and found this out now before you wasted any more of your life on him! That being said my husband has loved me during my weight range of 70 lbs up & down. Even at my biggest (263) he told me all the time that he found me sexy and loved me the way I was. Problem…

You have taken the 1st step towards changing your life. I know with my own mental health, I have noticed a great improvement in how I feel compared to a year ago. Tried anti-depressants and gained weight from them, therefore causing more positive feelings (yeah, right). The first thing you need to do is start logging…

You look amazing! I started about the same time/weight as you. You carried yours much better than myself though. We can do this. It seems like we've been at this forever sometimes doesn't it? 170-180 is my 1st goal. I'll be happy if that's where I get to. More would be great but I need to do at least that.
-
Sounds delicious! I'm going to try this and hope the family likes it. Otherwise I'll have leftovers for a few days!

From personal experience, yes it has helped. I did not drink nearly enough water a year ago either but now I do. Once you get over that initial hump of starting to drink it, it gets easier. Someone told me then, and it's actually true, that if you have a straw cup of water with you all the time, you will mindlessly drink…

So wanted a 3 musketeers bar (darn lines at the grocery store). Settled on 5 Ritz crackers.
-
Drink more water and limit processed foods, including lunch meats. Everytime I try to eat something I didn't make, even a fast food salad, my sodium shoots through the roof.
-
Look up on skinnytaste.com for bacon wrapped chicken bites. You can control how many you eat, at least in theory.

C25K made me a runner. I ran my 1st 5k in November before I even finished the program. When I first started I could barely do the 1 min straight run. I now do 25 min & feel like I could do more! I have never been a runner. Even in HS I couldn't run a mile straight without walking. My 37 yr old self has kicked the butt of…
