For my princess runs and Tink runs I saw pics within I believe 24-48 hours. I have finally moved up in corral's and really enjoyed my last experience; I have to say the wait is likely the primary driving motivation for my husband to run faster in our practice races!!! Edited to add that sometimes only a few pics would be…

I guess I'm the 2% of people who chose to be veg b/c I think meat is ICKI and not because of morals. I think sustainable humane farm raised animals are morally acceptable; but my body can't stomach the idea of eating dead flesh. Regardless veg bacon is okay if you use lots of veggie mayo and tomatoes for your BLT - but not…

Yes I have used it - it is more expensive than most GF breads; but I will recommend the Jullian Bakery carb 0 the Cinnamon flavored w/ some almond butter is quite good. The Paleo LIGHT toasted for a sandwich is okay but 1) never eat NOT TOASTED 2) NEVER eat as just toast and butter have a sandwich with it. 3) Have a lot of…

Oh absolutely. I didn't even buy fruits and veggies in Ohio b/c of how expensive they were. If you're not buying organic here at sprouts I can get 3 red peppers for 1.00 sometimes. In Ohio it would be .99 at BEST and in New England maybe 1.59.Most of those ratios remain the same. Where do you shop? Go. To. Sprouts!!!!!…

Hey Tamzy I know just how you feel. I moved here in 2010 from Ohio having spent 5 years there and growing up in New England prior to. It was a culture shock, but I knew what I was in for having moved here for 6 months back in 2000. I'm glad I did. The weather here lends itself to year round "outdorsyness" which is great…

I don't have celiacs and if I am gluten intolerant it is only ever so mildly. This month I decided to do 1 month GF to see what it was like and if I had any health benefits (although after reading I hear some benefits take a little longer to show up.) Because it was only a month I went cold turkey; but now that the month…

I agree with the dark dark chocolate ie min 82% with coffee black. Sometimes I add berries and nuts or some light tru whip. As far as the healthy vs unhealthy thing op used "quotes" because we all understand many are sensitive to the 'term'. I think things are a % healthy or unhealthy based upon our perceptions. Your…

Just goes to show you have knowledge changes over time. Remember that next time someone comes up with some new awesome technique or information :) We may find out something totally different 20 years from now like maybe we should static stretch not dynamic stretch before running. Maybe we need more water than we thing,…

Yeah it let me in at 8:55 and I registered all 3 of us :) (Me hubby and 19 y/o kiddo) The 5k was the first thing to sell out, then the kids races then the race. I went to reg for pasta in the park later in the day (1 Pacific) and it said sold out (even though the website said 93%) but then I tried again at 2 PM and I was…

Tomorrow 9 AM Pacific!!!!!

I am not a doc so I don't know what you have I do know running on a knee with arthritis can create more pain and have it intensify sooner in life based upon what hubbys PT recently told him. However, you should see a doctor maybe it's something else entirely! That would put your mind more at ease.

I live in phoenix and it's so frekin hot most people are half naked when not working out in the summer....When I first moved here I was in shock at the skin everywhere! So I guess it just depends on where you are - now it seems totally natural and far more comfortable but if you'd asked me 4 years ago I probably would have…

I have never successfully fully rid myself of it but years of cardio including running did nothing compared to power class (a weight lifting class) and specifically deadlifts and weighted lunges. Everyone says wide squats also but I noticed the most change when we did 5-6 weeks more focused on weighted lunges - although we…

Level flip belt. Amazing. I have 2 and use them for my 1/2 marathons, runs, or just around Disney park recently to hold just a phone and ID. (Then I put my hoodie through it so I wouldn't have to carry it.) The flip band you wont even know it is there!!!! Measurements for sizing run true also. Also better than arm band b/c…

Hmm I wrote a lot of my opinions in the other princess weekend thread so I wont repeat a bunch of it - a lot of it applies to any race not just the 1/2 marathon. Leave time for the expo it draws you in!!! Being prepared will calm your nerves and lastly its a 5k it'll be over so fast so pack as much fun in that time as you…

If I ate like you I'd probably faint at the gym and have a hefty ambo and ER bill....all so someone could tell me EAT AND DRINK MORE. I am not exaggerating. Today in power class someone asked me what I burn in power...I told them about 330 calories BUT for every day of weight training I do a week I have to up my NET intake…

Waivers and Corral placements are UP!!! Keep in mind they have put 10 more corrals in this year to space things out - so if you used to be in A you may be as low as E!!! So don't spazz (like I already did. Twice.)

My husband flys southwest weekly. This happens to him about 50% of the time. Once in a while it will be so bad he emails customer service and they throw some points our way - basically saying why did I pay for this other person to have half my seat....

You'd be an awesome training partner since we're close in time :) I was 2:10:21 - heading to princess next month ! So excited - not so excited they are moving the Tink to may next year...

I have never seen a pregger Cinderella :) I did not sign up for the glass slipper challenge. I have no idea about pregnant running - but I do know you can pretty much walk a very very brisk pace and finish under time. As far as there still being 35 days I know that I got behind on training because of a family issue that…

I did get my 10k time submitted - but too late for the Tink I'll be in E ugh. I got a huge set back in Dec when I had to travel w/ my grandma when she went into the hospital for her heart emergency. I spent 3 weeks there not training more than twice.....so been playing catch up. It is also why it has taken me so long to…

I thought you meant tracks. like the ones you run around...anyhow...I just put on Pandora and use a "titanium" station and it's PERFECT. Can't Hold is an amazing running song. Some that I remember that come on frequently .... Lights / Elle Goulding Wild Ones Where have you been / Rihanna Promises / Nero Titanium…

Bad news: Likely losing your breasts. Good news: Beyond worth it. 40 C - 34 A (and the A...is big and I am annoyed they discontinued NA (nearly A's) )

As another poster noted it was hard to ever go from knee push ups to regular ones. What made the difference for me was chest press with weights. Then after a month or so of that I can do 'normal' push ups. Usually not at the speed the videos want me to but I can do them with correct form now.

You are being realistic. (with a couple caveats about the strength training ..) Here is a beginner schedule for a 1/2 marathon going for 17 weeks before running it, and you're already past the start of that schedule: http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/half-marathon-training/ However as someone else who is lifting while…

Someone posted this a few days ago I found it fascinating as when I was running last year my weight loss stalled and I am running again and I'm trying to avoid possible non lean gains. (I am maintaining my weight training while doing my running training but not actually bulking at all until the races are over. Until then…

The article she posted is simply fascinating and illuminating.
