  • I had astigmatism and had the laser surgery. It was expensive, but I worth it. I laid on the table, they counted down from 43 for each eye, then I sat up and I could see 20/20. The only scary part was when they put the drops in my eye before they started and then moved the light away and everything went dark for a second.…
  • I found the first two dvds were barely worth doing. If you have the form down and find it to easy, skip to dvd 3 and 4. You can do an extra week on eight and nine (that is where I needed to do an extra week before moving on).
  • I tired to do the cardio every day, but at the higher levels it was hard to keep up with it.
  • I have to blame my beautiful babies. I had them close together and never lost the pregnancy weight.
  • I had a similar dilemma, what to do after 30 day shred. I chose to go with Jillian`s Total Body because it was basically the same idea and was only 30 minutes. After that, I tried P90x but just couldn`t get past the 35 minute mark psychologically. I would just give up. I switched to insanity which burns crazy calories for…
  • My thoughts exactly. My husband said that if I was the one giving birth, he would be the one going under the knife. It is way cheaper, more effective, and less invasive. The key to your question is you need to know in your heart you are completely done with having children, 75% is not enough. It took until baby number 6…
  • One thing to consider is if the carrier has a plastic or canvas bottom. Canvas is lighter, but not a durable. Also the type of metal in construction makes a big weight difference, you may regret not paying for the lighter material after several miles of towing kids.
  • I was about to comment about why I don't do smaller trips more often when I realised I shop twice a week, which works out to every couple days (did I mention I was a math major). I do more trips because I love fresh bakery bread and that doesn't last more than a day or two. I also like having fresh veggies. But the biggest…
  • I lost eight pounds doing it though I really slacked off at the end. My arms and legs look awesome , and my belly is definitely tighter and I am so much stronger.
  • It starts easier than 30 day shred but quickly escalates. I loved it and am doing it for the second time. It was great for getting my butt in gear. The only complaint I have is it spoiled me with those 30 minute workouts and then you are done. I when I try to do longer video now, I die after the 30 minute mark.
  • I have tried both and I prefer the dvd's. The online gives workouts, but there is something about having someone in front of you showing you how to do the exercises and how long to do them for. They are totally worth the money. I am on my second round with the dvds.
  • Yay! Your kids and someday grandkids will say thank you for and changing your life so you can be around for them.
  • I would go with the kinect on xbox over a wii (we have both) The tracking system is far superior as are the fitness games, if only by virtue of having the newer technology. I just got the Nike Trainer for Kinect, and I was sweating for real, plus I didn't need to hold onto any little controllers, and it wouldn't count my…
  • The first time I tried Greek yogurt I couldn't stand it. But I tried different brands and flavours and frankly just let my tastebuds learn to appreciate it. I love the extra protein. That being said, not all Greek yogurt is the same. Some add a lot of sugar, and some don't actually do it the "traditional" way but instead…
  • It just came out on Tuesday, so not many of us have it yet. I did my first session and really liked it. It was easy to see my form (though I think my little avatar is too fat). Set up took a while, but the exercises were very good and you can play your own music in it (which is my pet peeve about workout videos). I only…
  • I put on my vampire hunter wrap a round skirt for an event last night. Last year I had to make a new hole in the belt. This year I could use the premade hole, almost ten centimeters difference. Plus, I put on a corset and I could breathe and no funny bulges along the tummy,
  • There is research that suggests that genetics can be changed by environment and that they are not set in stone but are influenced by hormones (stress, endorphines etc). Of course then there is the expression of said genetics. Don't forget that a gene that makes you carry more fat can do squat if you live through a famine…
  • Trying chewing gum if the munching is getting you down. My weakness is potato chips, but I found that chomping on a piece of dentene gum takes away the urges and distracts me long enough to regroup and resist. Will power is one thing, but sometime the distraction can help. I keep packs all over the house, car, and purse…
  • I have a pair of super light runners, in hot pink, with gel insoles. I like how light they for all those plyometrics are and the gel really helps with the impact. I picked mine up at SportCheck in Canada.
  • Love mine, plus it is durable (went through the wash once so far). It is neat to see how far I walked, how I slept and how active I was. There are some nights I make sure I am walking circles just so I can reach my daily goal. It is true that when you monitor your activity, it tends to go up. Just like writing down what…
  • I like the 30 ds because it got me going, I figured twenty minutes a day I can do. I felt like I would die the first week but I stuck to it and got over the hump. If you need a gentler intro to exercise, her 90 day Total body program starts off really easy but gets insane as the weeks go on, but totally worth it.
  • Canada is taking them out of circulation. They have already stopped making them.
  • I started last week but would love some others doing Insanity. I am doing the Asylum after coming off of Jillian Michael's Total Body. This definitely kicks it up a notch or eight, but I am loving the burn. Feel free to friend me, especially if you are doing Asylum.
  • My father's family and the white side of Prez Obama have the same last name and are from the same part Ireland. I haven't found a direct link, but I think that is kind of cool.
  • I hate cardio, but I surprisingly am liking Insanity. I think the key to those workouts is constantly changing it up every one to five minutes. I could never to a machine for for 45 minutes, but I can do Insanity without being bored. Part of getting healthy is pushing your body and mind even when you don't want to do it,…
  • I am in the same boat, but I am leaning towards P90x because the cardio part of BR is my least favourite. I have previewed both programs and both seem good, but I haven't tried insanity One big plus however is the first part of insanity is only 40 minutes longs, so it isn't such a big jump from the 30 minute workouts. You…
  • I react to wine and most alcohols, my face turns redish and I get a minor rash. Fortunately my throat doesn't close, so I still drink once in a while. I believe it is an alcohol allergy, but I have never been tested. I never thought it could be sulfites. Sorry no help but you are not the only one.
  • Start at week one with heavy weights, if it is easy, move to week 3. I just finished 30ds and wish I hadn't as much time on week one and two.
  • My kids always comment on her bad language (kick yourself inn the butt, feel like you are going to die) but I don't find her too annoying. The background music sucks and I wish I could mute that, have my own tunes and still hear when she says switch legs.
