  • Yes, buying a gym membership makes you go so much more! At my gym there are free drop-in group fitness classes, which makes it even more worthwhile to me! Once I start working full-time, there will be a free gym, but boy do I love those group classes. I'm so tempted to still pay for memberships even after I'll have a free…
  • When you do any machine that tells you how many calories, make sure you put in your age and weight. Most machines are defaulted for a 150 lb. man. Although there's no choice for male/female, your weight will make a difference with how many calories you burn. For the treadmill I always put in what it says for my age/weight.…
  • haha I have the cat run up and down the stairs a few times - she gets a dental treat when she's done
  • You'll only get discouraged if you weigh in too often. Try to only weigh in weekly at most, but bi-weekly or monthly if you can. Body weight fluctuates very often!

  • These are hard for me too! Weight loss is about being healthier, but you can't completely deprive yourself either. There is still room for burgers and fries, birthday cakes, and other unhealthy things occasionally. When I go out to eat, I just do an estimate in my diary. I also write a food note that it's only an estimate…
  • I'm totally addicted too!! Even yesterday when I was having some corn chips and tuna (don't ask, haha), I measured the chips out by oz. and my friend thought I was crazy! I said hey, I'm finally seeing results, so why am I going to stop counting now!! There are some days where I don't to log my dinners if I've eaten out…
  • Yeah.. lately I've just refrained from buying it. I am a sucker for chocolate though. I keep a bag of Dove Promises (42 calories each) in my room and they are my reward at the end of the day. No matter what, if I have a craving then I'll have just one. However, if I have about 120 calories left for the day (when does that…
