Well, you can always stick with this or come back--it's free (which makes it great) BUT...the other side is, I've found that with some things in my life, my willingness to shell out money for something is an indication of the level of committment I have for it, and once I have shelled out the money, I'm more motivated to…

I've stopped putting the food on the table when we eat. We fix our plates and then go to the table. It cuts down on the "grazing". We almost always have leftovers...in fact, I usually count on it--that's what my hubby takes for lunch, and it's what I eat for lunch the next day too. If there is not enough for two of us left…

Ergh....I feel that. I was hoping for just a little loss this morning when I weighed in, but alas....exact same as last week. Big picture though, I didn't gain, and maybe I need to drink more water. We'll try again next Saturday!

Maybe redefining what success and failure for you are would help. Is failure not losing weight every week? That might be a hard goal--and to be honest, it's a little out of your control--your body will trick you sometimes. Make measurable goals--"I will drink this much water a day. I will spend this many minutes…

I echo what others have said--it's frusterating, but she probably is hungry. As long as the choices you are giving her are healthy ones, let her decide whether she needs to eat more or not. I'm sure the days will even out, and as long as it's not cupcakes and empty calories and other snacks like that, her body is getting…

bump--these are all so great. Love it!

Sorry about the seperation. Havign a list of other things you can do when you feel like eating helped me, and having healthy snacks, so that if I couldn't resist, at least I made a "better" choice, and worst case scenario--duct tape. It's hard to eat with your mouth taped shut!

i threw some natural peanut butter in with my frozen banana and whirled it all up. SO GOOD. Thanks!

Especially in the summer, my fave is a small hamburger (about 250 cals) and a vanilla ice cream cone (about 150 cals) from McDonalds. I get water to drink...or a diet coke if I need another splurge. Sometimes I'll substitute a grilled chicken snack wrap if I don't want the burger--it adds like 10-20 more calories, I think.…

Leslie Sansone videos--especially the longer ones--3-4-5 miles. You can do them all low impact, but with the arm movements, etc, you can get your heart rate up just about as high as you want/need. She has some that involve light jogging too, but there are always folks who stay low impact. I've appreciated the workouts.

That's a pretty common occurrence with depression. Try to listen to the little wee voice inside of you that knows you need nutrition to be healthy, and do the best you can to get the calories you need. Keep up the effort!

Foods that begin with the letters "ch". :-) If I have to choose just one....pizza. Yeah....

Hey--if your friend wants to use that mentality for herself, go for it. However, IMO--REWARDS ARE GREAT!!! The whole point is to motivate--so, if getting the shoes now is a good reward and will motivate you to keep going, then DO IT! It's all about what works for you--not someone else. Do whatever will work best for…

Whoa! That's a lot of exercise-you are motivated! Good luck with the baby weight....I just got it off, and mine just hit 18 months. :-)
-
It's hard...but just like lots of other things, if you can make yourself do it that first few times, it gets easier. I'm up at 5:30 in the morning to exercise before the rest of the day starts--I hate getting up, but for the rest of the day, I LOVE not having to think about when I am going to exercise...it's already DONE!…

I still haven't picked mine! My first ideal weight is anything in the healthy BMI range. I'm 5'2 and just hit 136. I'd like to drop another 10 lbs, but at the same time, that may take more effort than my body or my brain can handle at this point to maintain. I'm 5/2, and my body seems to feel comfortable somewhere between…

One day won't hurt. If you really want to use up the calories, then maybe it is time for a treat...just a small one though. :-)

Hello....I don't know your specific situation, but in general, if you are only consuming 300-400 calories a day, then IMO, you are already starving yourself. Your body is not going to let go of any more fat until it knows that it is going to get an adequate number of calories on a regular basis. It IS in starvation mode…

Congrats on your wedding! I second what lots of others have said...it sounds like you are getting plenty of sugar/carbs--I think more protein is a good way to go for you. Lean meats, nuts, etc. They have made such a difference in me not being hungry constantly! Best wishes!

The nice thing is, since it is fondue, you have to cook each bite separately, so it takes a little longer and you can eat more consciously. That being said, it is THE MELTING POT. So, enjoy what you are paying for, enjoy the food, and enjoy the experience--you can always work out a little more before or after. Life…

I'd just tell them "Don't worry--the doctor says I'm doing great". I think it's usually a combo of sub/unconscious envy, and what the other posters were talking about concerning past memories. I just hit a healthy BMI (i.e not overweight), and someone made a comment like that to me, so I told them that I can lose another…

I actually have something that I put into the database that I call my "guesstimate"--I have it set for 100 calories, and a few grams of fat, and then I just put how ever many servings of that that I think I ate. 800 calories= 8 servings. Potlucks are rough...but at least I feel like I am making an effort to track it…

Just been there. I find that if I can just get myself moving, I feel better. My goal is to do something every day. So, on those days, I just plan/default to an easier workout. A walking workout or something, rather than the normal "push-it" routine. Sometimes I try to exercise longer that normal since I'm not exerting…

bump-thanks!

Yay! that' s my goal too!

Something that has worked for me is to get one of those timers that people use to make their lights go on and off automatically. --the ones with the automatic on and off, where you set the times. Instead of plugging in a light, I plug in my crock pot! I can prep it the night before and then just stick it in the crockpot…

Did two miles this morning! My hubby even got up at 5:30 to do it with me this morning! That was neat. If I have the time/energy, I'm going to try to get another two miles in this evening. We'll see.....good luck everyone!
-
Yay! 3 miles in 45 minutes this morning...up before the kids and hubby, but I'm actually starting to like the "alone" time, even if getting out of bed is killer!
