WOW love your story, I have been considering heavy lifting but I don't know where to start, when I walk into the gym all the masculine guys are hogging all the iron lol and I feel a weeeeee bit intimidated so I end up on elliptical or doing manual workouts with dumbbells . 1000 calories is not enough you will see more results if you feed your body more. You should eat around 1200-1500 cals a day and work out.
