I've been here a while, but could always use a couple new friends!

I'm a fisheries biologist so I spend a lot of time doing field work in boots and waders. I think I overcompensate on my free time and wear a lot of skirts. I don't think you should have to wait until you have free time to feel feminine. Just find what makes you feel good about yourself and incorporate it into your life. I…

These are great! It's important for people to know how to spot this kind of stuff! Thanks!

Amazing! Great job!

Baked or grilled apples or peaches sprinkled with cinnamon and walnuts.

Canned beans are very cheap, dried lentils are even cheaper an cook pretty quickly. You can get nuts and seeds (think pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and pistachios) in bulk and they store and travel very well. Mozzarella string cheese is pretty inexpensive, I usually take one to classes with me each day for a snack. You…

I just realized I am out of holes on my favorite belt... :-)

You are amazing! Your story is awesome. Thanks for sharing!

I have a 1270 goal currently and ALWAYS eat that. My diary is open to everyone as well.

I cook a giant pile of kale on top of Ramen noodles. It fills me up more than just the noodles. Add sriracha sauce for extra flavor and heat, and its the perfect winter soup!

I ran a half marathon in October, and have another planned for April. I'm trying to run one race a month for the rest of the year. Feel free to add me!

AWESOME! It's like a flip book of weight loss! Great job!

lol :-) But seriously, congratulations! You can go back into your goals and reset them for weight maintenance. Then MFP will calculate the calories you need to maintain your goal weight once you reach it.

I count everything too, but I like to see how much food I can get in my food log before I meet my calorie goal for the day. It's like a little game to play that increases the amount of fruits and veggies I eat, as I'm looking for more low calorie/high volume foods.

Someone in another thread, posted this website: http://www.thegraciouspantry.com/ I think you'll find lots of great ideas there, I especially love that they have shopping lists.

I've taken cooked broccoli and cauliflower before and they stayed good. Raw broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and sugar peas travel well and stay good. Cooked sweet potatoes will last too, and taste good cold. String cheese works well, and cans of V8. I really like little cans and packets of tuna. My two favorite ways to use…

It depends on how sick you are and what kind. If you have a head cold and still feel like working out, then go for it. I still run and walk for exercise through head colds, and it even makes me feel less miserable. If you are still functioning well, and thinking about working out, you probably can. It's not the time to…

I go to homemade vegetable soup for my warm comfort food. It's easy to make and pretty versatile. Combine: V-8 Garlic Onion Cabbage Broccoli Cauliflower Kale Carrots Corn Beans Tabasco Crushed Red Pepper Flakes I add cheese on top and a LOT of extra Tabasco to vamp up the "hotness." To make a low calorie version just go…

My boyfriend and I are on here together. It's been very fun and educational. I especially liked to see how much less I really need to be eating than him. He gets 2,020 calories and I get 1,270! He also burns way more calories doing any activity than I do for the same amount of time. Those might be very good things to point…

"Tea not only rehydrates as well as water does, but it can also protect against heart disease and some cancers, UK nutritionists found." ~http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/5281046.stm I drink tea all day long and count it towards my water.

Fixed it ! Thanks! The fist one I found was just WAY too big. :-)

You have done an amazing job!

It's also helped me to have some good go-to conversations for random social situations. On Mondays, ask people how their weekend went, on Fridays ask if they have any fun plans for the weekend. Whenever people ask me how I'm doing, I reply and talk about the weather. Such as "Good, loving the sun!" or "Good, ready for the…

I am exactly the same way! First, realize that this kind of personality is ok. I was so relieved the first time someone actually told me introversion was an actual personality trait, and that I didn't have to be outgoing, verbose, or super social to actually "be myself." I would suggest reading "Quiet: The Power of…

You can add me! I'm pescatarian too, training for a half marathon in April, and love yoga!

Hi I am 30 and currently working on my master's degree. I worked full time when taking classes, and will admit that this was the hardest thing I have ever done! For me, it was really easy to get into a pattern of not eating enough during the week, and then end up filling up on easily accessible food on the weekends (and a…

Probably a lot of the same comments vegetarians get. People will ask you Why?! Then probably say something along the lines of "I could never give up steak!" and "Don't you miss bacon!?" I get a lot of people telling me it's too hard to get protein even when I am eating seafood (not true at all). My mom, especaly is…

I became Pescatarian at 24 too. (Six years ago now!) I love it. I didn't like most meat, so it was easy for me. I do like fish, and other seafood, and still wanted a diet that was easy to adapt to and explain to people. I've never had trouble sticking to it, and don't ever have meat cravings. The times it has gotten…
