  • I do 16:8, been on intermittent for a few years. Love it--helps me sleep, makes it easier for me to manage my calorie intake. I stop eating at 8pm, start back up at noon. It's easy breezy, IMO. I just drink a ton of water, tea, black coffee. The first week I had headaches, now it just doesn't phase me. I run and/or lift…
  • Hi Emily, Becoming vegan does a lot of things--but it doesn't automatically increase your weight loss. I've seen some incredibly unhealthy vegans/vegetarians simply because the food choices aren't always the easiest grab-on-the-go items, and oftentimes eating out can be difficult. Restaurants have a tendency to add a ton…

  • I don't agree completely. There is something to be said for a 14-16 hour fast, based on the science behind IF. Fasting helps to normalize several hormones, including ghrelin (the hunger hormone), leptin and insulin (both of which can affect weight, and are associated with everything from type 2 diabetes to heart health to…
  • I'm TDEE as well! Mine's 2200-20%, so I set it at 1800. Nice to see so many people on this site actually EATING! Yay!
  • Try running on a track or a football field to ease the stress of pounding the pavement. I agree with AJ_G, every other day for awhile is a good idea. And yeah, if you can still get your exercise in with elliptical or bike, take a brief hiatus. Shin splints heal pretty quickly. It's a good idea to build up the muscles…
  • Oh my gosh, exactly! All of you people who are eating 1200 cals and not adding back in your exercise are going to have serious issues maintaining. I lost all of my weight--65 lbs--6 years ago. The most I've come back up is 10 lbs, and I think it's mostly muscle from my kettlebell addiction--my pants still fit. :) When you…
  • :explode: Grrrr. I second that punch in the balls.
  • You look amazing! Congrats!
  • THANK YOU! 1000 calories is definitely too low. Up those calories!
  • I'm a huge Adidas fan, but hate spending the cash. However, I have an outlet store close to me, and they have FABULOUS sales, and then I can afford them. :)
  • I'm going with Heidi1558--wanker should be used much more in the USA. Made me giggle. And BTW, your ex is a complete buttmunch. What the heck? 150lbs is NOT fat. Good for you for your weight loss journey, and you will find someone who is worth your time. Your ex was obviously not.
  • It looks like you're doing just fine on calorie intake. I agree wtih the above person--zig zagging your calories is just fine. And the occasional day under 1200 isn't going to cause you issues--I find it easier to look at the weekly average. If you eat 1000 one day and 1400 the next, you're averaging 1200. Don't stress too…
  • Heck yes, I do a cheat day! Most of the time it's pretty close to my maintenance calories, or maybe a tiny bit above so I don't damage the deficits I did for the week. I think it's important to allow yourself to cut loose here and there. Everyone's different, but as long as a cheat day is an every once in awhile thing,…
  • LOL, everything can give you a belly if you have to much of it! :) I don't think wine in and of itself can give you a belly. Ultimately, calories in, calories out. Although obviously some calories are way better for your body than others. I love my wine. LOVE my wine. But it (and the rest of my food) likes to contribute to…
  • Wowsers! You look fantastic! Congratulations, girl!
