  • What kind of exercise are you doing? What kind of cardio/strength, how often, how long and how intense? Also, not saying NEVER have wine... I don't really drink, so I see it as a waste of calories, but that's just me :)
  • Looking at your diary, I would suggest - less takeaway - less bread/rice etc - no juice/wine - more fruit and veg - more protein - less cheese (though it pains me to say it, I love cheese!) Instead of 1 or 2 ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch, could you have an open sandwich (one piece of bread) with more toppings eg…
  • I have it at a volume where I can still hear cars/muggers/incoming magpies etc...
  • castelluzzo99, don't wait till your at your goal weight to start strength training - start now! And even if you don't have weights, do bodyweight exercises, like this http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/ - I promise it will challenge you :)
  • Yeah... I can cook myself and my partner a healthy meal for under $4... These shakes are 'spensive, yo.
  • Check out this 140lb fat-*kitten*... http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/ Yeah. Think about it. I'm just under 5'7 and I'd be happy to get to 70kg (154lb). I'm hella curvy - big boobs and hips/butt - and I'd look ridiculous at my "perfect" BMI weight of 62kg.
  • I'm too lazy to read all the other replies, so apologies if I repeat stuff, but... - try to land on the middle of your foot, rolling to your toes, than on your heels, to avoid jarring through the knee and pelvis. - run low to the ground, don't leap up and down like a gazelle. - learn to breathe, nice steady rhythm, not…
  • Starbuck in BSG (Katee Sackhoff) http://i569.photobucket.com/albums/ss140/shadowkat57/starbuck_zps1169578d.jpg Strong without being super skinny. But I have big boobs as well, so combine that with a bit of Kat Dennings/Chrstina Hendricks/ScarJo action as well...
  • Wasn't 100% sure I had the motivation to go to the gym tonight... this thread made me go lift heavy things. RAWR!!!
  • I would think heavy housework would be a sufficiently intensive exercise to get a good result - probably moreso than something like walking. And especially 4 hours of housework, or 2 hours of yardwork.
  • Get a heart rate monitor, and track the calories you burn while you're doing stuff!
  • Wow. Super condescending!
  • Time to lift some weights, dude. Sounds like you want to reshape your body, rather than need to lose weight. Eat more and lift heavy things!
  • I have pretty bloody strong abs, and I'm still a fatty boombalada, so I'm on the sceprical side of "crunches give you a flat stomach." In fact, if you do a billion crunches and still eat lard, you'll probably have a more sticky-out tummy because you'll have a double layer of muscles + fat, instead of just fat :)
  • I tried c25k last year, got up to week 7 before I got the flu... I've never been able to run more than about 50m before, couldn't believe I was actually running! Highly recommend :)
  • http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/ Here you go! No gear required, just your body :)
  • Oh, and what kind of regular exercise are you doing? How long each time, how many times a week, what kind of activity?
  • Can you tell us a bit about your diet? What foods do you eat, and how much? My problem is that even when I try to eat "healthy" foods, I eat too damn much! And then there's all the foods that seem healthy/low cal but really aren't... I don't really like the idea of your daughter calorie counting - I like the general…
  • Are you on medication for your thyroid and diabetes issues? Are you morbidly obese? Has your doctor suggested this as a viable option? Weight loss surgery is an effective method of weight management in certain cases - people who have a LOT to lose, have tried everything else, need a real lifestyle change to change their…
