what an amazing story! your dedication after so much adversity is incredible :flowerforyou:

I love all the responses so far! It's interesting to hear what (or who) influenced people to change for good. Your stories are so motivating!

That's scary! I love your picture, so inspiring!

I'm 5'3 with an hourglass figure, so I'd love to be a size 2 because then my waist would be really tiny. no smaller though, I want to be STRONG and TONED! I'm currently averaging a size 4, so I'm getting close!

what a great victory! Panera used to be my go-to lunch, but I haven't been in months after I saw their sodium levels. Not to mention the obvious carbs! They should really be ashamed!

bumping for tomorrow!

Glad to hear all the different opinions on this! I am the oldest of 5 children and between the 5 of us, we cover just about every body type! My youngest brother is only 7 years old and due to my dad's neurotic dieting (considers himself healthy because his calories only come from steak and booze), is already keenly aware…

Wait a minute. You lost 3.5 pounds in a week, then another .5 lbs in a couple days? And you're upset about that? That is great progress - in fact, it's probably the most you'll ever lose in one week. Weight comes off much faster in the beginning and comes off much slower as you get closer to your goal. You should be very…

that is ridiculous! if anything, I've always been that girl wearing clothes that are too big for fear of my love handles showing! so glad to be slowly but surely getting rid of those damn things altogether!

Chipotle burrito bowl! I get rice, chicken, fajita veggies, mild salsa and cheese for an incredibly filling 460 calories. Moe's is a fantastic option as well - I get a junior burrito there for less than 400 cals! I have a thing for mexican food if you can't tell

My thoughts exactly. There's a search button for a reason, people!

your body keeps a perfect log, regardless of what you write down. best to stop kidding ourselves and really look at what we eat - ESPECIALLY on "bad" days.
-
We're slowing down the wagon for you, so you can get back on. Start by making small changes. Log everything, even if it's not a great day. Set little goals like having a raw fruit & veggie serving each day, taking a daily 30 minute walk, etc. If the gym isn't an option, maybe you can rent a few workout DVDs and find one…

absolutely amazing. you look fierce girl!

Took a very quick look a your diary and it looks like you're only at 1300 calories a day. Have you considered increasing that? As a general rule, the closer you get to your goal, the closer to a maintenance calorie level you should be. May want to switch up your workout routine as well! Try a new class, try strength…

I usually make my lunch religiously, but today I decided to get Chipotle as a little treat :blushing: Chicken burrito bowl with rice, fajita veggies, mild salsa, and cheese. 460 calories and keeps me full for hours! On a typical day though, I pack: -Either a PB&J or whole grain tortilla chips and homemade salsa -2 servings…

I'm on Day 13, but just wanted to pass along some advice! You will definitely wake up extremely sore tomorrow, but it is normal! Just take some ibuprofen to help with the soreness and push through it :flowerforyou: it will get better around Day 3 or so!

bumping for maryland  stock up on TONS of water! a gallon per day for each person in your house. also most produce keeps at room temperature!
-
Ice cream (now I buy pre-portioned desserts so I can't add "just a little bit more") Chinese food (I make my own stir fry now but it's just not the same as takeout  ) And booze. The only solution I've found there is to just sip it slowly and drink water constantly. It may be cliche, but nothing tastes as good as…

I find them very hard too! Much harder than the legs. I figure, just keep pushing through and you WILL get stronger.

Your BMR is your basal metabolic rate, or what you burn everyday just doing essential bodily functions. This is what you would burn if you laid in bed in a coma all day, and as a general rule, you should not eat less than this number. MFP may still set you at less than this number, if it does, I would recommend manually…

Aww. Unless your fiance is a total jerk (which I'm sure he's not since he's your fiance!), I'd give him a pass on this one. Men tend to have no idea how deeply women feel about weight loss, body image, etc. Even men who are also trying to lose weight may not fully understand us! And for him, especially if he's tall, 130…

okay now my mouth is seriously watering. thanks guys!

Does anyone have an opinion on Under Armor's running shoes? I need a new pair and being a Terp grad, I figured I'd support UA. FYI I'm not a runner (can't due to a medical condition), but I obviously still need some shoes for the gym. thanks!

The pictures of her poor children say it all. I really feel for them. I can't even imagine how awful it must be to watch your mother do this to herself.
-
you look great! we're the same height, but I'm only looking to get down to 122. I'm well-endowed up top and I'd like it to stay that way  feel free to add me if you'd like!

"So and So has completed their food diary and was under their calorie goal" *looks at diary, consists of nothing but 800 calories worth of McDonalds* "WTG!" "Great job!" "Keep up the good work!" Absolute delusion.
-
Net at least 1200 calories a day, drink at least 8 glasses of water daily or more during a workout, and watch your sodium levels. Having TOO large of a calorie deficit is incredibly detrimental to weight loss, unless you have a hundred lbs to lose or more.

YUM! Might try this with a grilled chicken breast, sounds fantastic!
