hahahah thanks for the support (no pun intended!)! I revisited the thread to add a few more thoughts - I didn't mean to sound like a prude or say that looking sexy is a bad thing - it definitely ISN'T! But for me, looking sexy has a time and place, and that place is not the office, church, dinner with my boyfriend's…

I'm 5'2, hourglass figure, and a full D cup, so I'm just going to list the pros and cons I can think of: CONS -constant lower back pain whenever I'm sitting up -loose clothes make me look larger than I really am -stretch marks ... sad but true -less options at lingerie stores, because anything that adds cups sizes looks…

Bumping to read later - glad to find some people who suffer from the same crap (pun intended) that I do! It's so tough to find things to eat that won't make symptoms flare up. :grumble:

Hi there - I'm 5'3, and started trying to lose weight when I reached about 142 lbs last June. It took me about 6 months to get down to 118, but it was worth it because the weight has stayed off! Here's what I did ... 1. For the first 6 weeks, I ate only 1200 calories a day plus exercise calories. I allowed myself one cheat…

you look WONDERFUL and I love that bikini!!!!

That is great news for me, because I'm in the same boat! Hopefully I will have the same results.

I'm new to it, but eating clean seems to be limiting or eliminating junk and processed foods. I think for me, I'd like to do an 80/20 approach at first (80% clean, 20% other) and see if I can't eventually eliminate more. I'm not interested in giving up chocolate for life or never eating Chipotle again, so 90% is probably…

Hi all! Just thought I'd post my before/after pics since I'm 5'3. The first picture was taken in February 2011 when I was about 140 lbs. The second was taken around Thanksgiving at 119 lbs!!! I'm still working on upping my endurance and toning up, healthy lifestyles are a journey, not a destination! Good luck to all of…

BEFORE at 140 lbs in February 2011: AFTER at 119 lbs around Thanksgiving 2011: good luck to everyone, you can do this!

Thanks so much! and yes I know alllll about what a difference that 5 lbs makes. It's just not fair for us shorties!

For me and my textbook hourglass figure (which I have a love/hate relationship with!), it definitely depends on the rise. Mid-rise bootcut or straight legs jeans, I'm usually a size 2. But if they're low-rise or skinny jeans, all hell breaks loose and I'm back to a 4 or even 6, depending on the brand. But size is just a…

aww thanks everyone! I know 20 lbs is nothing compared to some of the superstars on here that have lost 100-200 lbs, but 20 lbs makes a huge difference on my small frame and more importantly on my mindset that weight loss and being healthy IS possible!

just make one little change at a time! you will get there :)

Friend request sent! I am 5'3 on a tall day, and started at 140 lbs in June 2011. I am now 120 and just 2 pounds from my ultimate goal weight  Any of y'all can feel free to add me, I'd love to share my wisdom gained along the way! It can be hard for us shorter ladies to lose weight... :grumble:

If you are set on taking his advice and either 1. joining WW or 2. going cold turkey on ALL carbs, I would choose option 1 in a heartbeat. Rarely does going cold turkey on anything - especially yummy delicious carbs - actually work out in the long run, even for the most strongwilled of individuals. However, WW promotes a…

bump :) If the OP is anything like me, her diet may be high in carbs but low in protein. Mine is that way, especially now that I'm starting strength training and trying to get more protein into my diet.

Thanks for the tip! I am definitely going to transition slowly. I'm already at my goal weight and it's October in Maryland, so there's really no rush to get a perfect beach body next week. For now, I adjusted my carbs down and my protein up, and added 20 cals bringing me to 1400 daily. If this doesn't work, I'll adjust as…

so...much...protein! oh well, I do love a good steak. Thanks for the tip, and I like your signature! I'm trying to get to "how you doin'?" as well. Or at least turn a few heads at the beach. A girl can dream, right?

I'm a weakling (trying to change that!) so I used 2-lb weights for most moves, and 5-lb weights for a few that I didn't think were too challenging. I still saw results!

Hmm. Thanks for the link, this sounds pretty familar to me. I'm already at my original weight loss goal, but then I lowered it to 122. Now that I'm almost to that goal, I'm pondering going down another 5-10 lbs because, frankly, I'm scared to move up to "maintenance" calories. I can do a day or two at maintenance but then…
