It took me 8 months including a two month plateau during the Holidays. I'm at 55 pounds lost now, so keep going. I made a lot of progress during the weeks that I exercised and did not eat the extra calories.

We wre on WW for our first month and switched to MFP after we found the site. I'm down 52 pounds in the past 10 months and my wife is down 36. Go for it!

I stick with light beers to stay within my calories.

Consider this a good sign. Exercising will add good weight and your net pounds will go up for a time. Stick with it and your body composition will begin to change and the weight trend will turn downward again. The same thing happened to me for a month and now I'm at 31 pounds lost.
